This will be my fifth time staying in Center Hotel. I stay there about every six months and it is one of, if not the cheapest real hotels in Tallinn. I never have issues and the staff is always wonderful. I will be reviewing the Hotel again after this trip. I look forward to staying at the Center Hotel again...
Stayed here in height of winter so cold and snowy. Had economy room with private bathroom and breakfast. Some positives and negatives. Room was very small. But warm. A single room with 2 beds. No furniture but it had a fridge and TV with no English channels that werent dubbed into a foreign language. Why? The hotel was full of English speaking guests. Bathroom was smelly after a shower when the bathroom had dried out. The bathroom drain was smelly. We asked for xtra pillows, a hairdryer and kettle which we got. The shampoo machine was empty all week .The wall was paper thin and I could here the person next door snore all night. Stale smelling room and hallways. Not enough space to put toiletries. Hotel is on tram route 1 and 3 and is close to the expensive Old Town. Breakfast was plentiful and typical East European cuisine. Same every day. Coffee was strong. Tea regularly ran out. Wifi was good in our 4th floor room. Staff were polite and spoke good English. Some noise from busy street but to be expected. Lighting gave the impression the hotel was converted from an office block. Overall not a bad stay but as we stayed a week it was a little too long for this city.It has got very pricey.
The hotel has good location - 17 minutes walking from central bus station and 15 minutes - from Old Tallinn. Also the administrators are friendly and always help you to find the optimal route to the museum. But please don't forget that it is a 2* hotel and don't expect too much from it)
The room has everything you need, I was surprised to see a fridge in the room Although they have no phones in the rooms the staff will give you a wake up knock on your door in the morning. The young woman at the desk, Anna, was absolutely great. Very helpful and woke me in time, very early, and even had a little take away breakfast for me as I was leaving before breakfast. Very easy walk to the old city.
The good side is that the hotel is walking distance from old town and the price is very affordable. The average side is that the room is super basic, but functional. The not so nice side is that service is subpar. I booked a non-smoking room but the room had quite strong smoking smell and yet they just wouldn't do anything for me with this issue.
Giusta sistemazione per poche notti. Prezzo ragionevole e pulizia della stanza buona. La colazione è servita a pian terreno con pochi tavoli e a volta bisogna aspettare. In 10 min si arriva in centro. The best accommodations for a few nights. Reasonable prices and good room cleanliness. Breakfast is served on the ground floor with a few tables, we had never to wait but it could happen. 10 min from the the city center.
Let me start from saying that this review is very, very overdue. I stayed at Center Hotel Tallinn in 2016. The hotel is indeed very centrally located, walking distance to the Old Town, bus and train stations. My room was recently renovated, very clean and basic. (Obviously it was not a sophisticated room of Westin or Hilton, but come on, it is only $50!) It was relatively small by North American standards but relatively spacious by European standards (on my way home back to the US I flew via Paris and stayed at one of the Comfort hotels near CDG; my room there was way smaller than my room at Center Hotel Tallinn). Breakfast is relatively simple but healthy and plentiful, i.e., veggies, ham, cheese, sausages, etc. Most importantly, service at Center Hotel Tallinn was absolutely great. I was travelling with my toddler and found myself in one difficult situation, and all staff members at the front desk tried to go above and beyond to help us. Very friendly and open people, thank you very much for the great stay, Center Hotel Tallinn!
I chose this hotel, because of its proximity to the center. Shared bathroom room with only one toilet and one shower on the floor. In mornings, have to wait in line to use bathroom. Inside room one TV set, which did not work. When I was away in town, staff removed my belongings. When asked, they only returned some items and claimed that other items were stolen from the room. I never thought somebody would have to steal clothes. This hotel should clearly have its license revoked.
I was traveling with my mother last summer for a weekend in Tallinn and we stayed in this hotel. We were given room in 5th (last) floor. Room with bathroom was small but clean; only one problem - window was broken, so in the evening we couldn't fully close window. Staff could be more helpful and kind too. Restaurant and breakfast quality was ok.
I won't say this is a hotel where you would like to spend a great vacation but its well capable basic place for short private/business trips. The location is great, CBD is walking distance. Have good restaurants near by. I got free breakfast with my booking which is more than ok looking at the price. Recommend for solo or business travel who want to keep the budget for better things.
