This hotel is in a pretty central location if you don't mind walking. If you are a morning person there is Linsen Park right next to the hotel, where you could get some exercise. If you want to go shopping the hotel is about 15 minutes from Shin Kong Mitsukoshi by the MRT Zhongshan station. There is also high end merchandise at the basement of Regent Taipei which is about 10 minutes walk away. If you are into night life, there is a Cashbox KTV nearby or you could check out the Linsen area for some food and drinks. The room is clean and well kept, may not be the biggest room, but it's nice and cozy. The staff speaks English and gave me very friendly service upon my arrival and during my stay. Would stay again if I'm ever in the area.
We stay for 3 nights in BChic, didn't take their breakfast set. We find the location is very good, very near to Zhongsan station, we could just took the subway all the way to airport. In front of the hotel about 100m walk, there is a park and some shopping complex and a cinema. There is a Taiwan bank where i can change my old NT$ to new notes. Everything is just nearby, great location. Friendly and helpful front desk as well. Oh I love the flower teas they serve in tea room next to front desk
The hotel wifi was extremely slow during the evening so I left for an hour or so hoping to come back and perhaps it would be better. It was actually worse. 50kbps download speed to be exact. That's slower than China with the great firewall. I called down to the front desk, explained the problem and the front desk agent told me she would help. I waited about 20 minutes, went downstairs and let them know the internet was slow. The front desk clerk told me there was nothing that could be done because maybe too many people were using the internet. Well I thought maybe I could enjoy a book since the internet was barely functioning. Wrong. The walls are paper thin and I could hear conversations in adjoining rooms. I have stayed at 4 hotels in Taiwan and this was the worst service I have received, slowest internet and nosiest rooms. There are plenty of better hotels around in my opinion.
Is about 20 minutes walk from MRT station to hotel. With in the vicinity there is a park, mall, shops and more shops selling foods ( my favourite noodles / dumpling food shop just .5 meters away from McD ), boutique , shop specially just carried Japanese products and night time will have street stall setup so mean more shopping! I am Neutral with hotel lobby however I am impress with the room and up keep of everything! A big thanks to cleaning crew whom refill, arranged and clean the bathroom until all glassess are spotless. Note, if u arrived via MRT at least try exist at ShongJiang, nothing much to discover compared if exist from ZhongShan, for ladies will be happy to discover Thomod, a drug store selling jap product and local brand. This exist as well landed directly at Shin Kong Mitsukoshi mall, a place that prefect for you to splurge.
Great room! Clean, very well maintained, great amenities and staff is very friendly. I will definitely be using this as my regular hotel in Taipei! Very quiet room facing street. Considerate company to double the Windows. thank you for a clean comfy room, and a very wonderful restroom. Love the tub!
there were no English language Newspapers or magazines. Breakfast was spartan and too little. when I asked the staff for more, they refused. Staff always just give canned answers -- a little repulsive for seasoned travellers
The room is Clean, breakfast buffet not bad, wifi is faster. BUT Quite expensive. Before Decoration Am a old guest , before decoration the hotel name is Zimei Taipei, many of china and local guest, after decoration many of Western countries are stay there that why the hotel increase in price “Quite expensive”
Free breakfast and mini bar is a PLUS. Price during weekend is bit higher. Room is really a double room capacity renovated into 3. So is really packed with 2 luggages. Toilet is fancy and clean. But transportation takes always 10 mins to walk to. Staff are nice and helpful. Please ask for receipts after check out. Otherwise there is no receipt provided. If I couldn't have known the size of the room. I would have rebook the hotel somewhere else. Anyway, for a short stay in Taipei. Still workable!
stayed here after another beauty hotel and the biggest failure they have is the interior designs of the rooms...they use spotlights for great ambiance but horrible practicality. case in point, all beauty hotels have a, singular, spotlight over the sink/mirror. try shaving with the spotlight beaming on top of your head, not face, and casting shadows...better yet try to be in the same room as your gf screaming trying to put on her make-up in the same horrible conditions. also these hotels are very popular with the mainland chinese tourists...so expect very loud neighbors, smoking in the halls and rooms even it s a nonsmoking place. also all the beauty hotels we have been tend to have less then great employees...often attitudes and lazy...not normal for taipei for sure....way better options than one of these. great neighborhood though...oh and the breakfast was beyond bearable...the scrambled eggs, as they are advertised, were dumped into a cooker raw and left in a soupy raw state that had us extremely confused...someone needs to them scrambled eggs need to be COOKED not left as a soup...thus we had bacon and toast with some type of really bad orange drink....
bad points: A little far from MRT but still within walking distance (10min). No problem to catch a taxi Breakfast OK but could be better Good points:Very clean, staff nice and helpful, very good value for the price. Rooms have lots of free stuff including snacks and a few drinks. Overall a good choice for short stays in taipei
