The price of this hotel is a bargain and if you are literally looking for somewhere to sleep then this may work for you. However I was there with my family so it wasn't good for us. The room was rundown, dark and dusty. It was really noisy and I struggled to get my baby to sleep. The breakfast was also really average. The biggest issue however was that they allow (or don't stop) smoking in rooms so the rooms and the hallways stank of smoke. This was not a good experience particularly with a baby. I also found the conversations between staff unprofessional at times. Hotel management should remind their staff that many non Chinese people can speak and understand Mandarin. My advice? If you are looking for a family friendly hotel, skip this one and opt for the Holiday Inn or one of the larger chains.
I think this hotel is a business hotel, and the staff speaks good English. It's located within the city centre, and Taichung station is a few minutes walk away. It is also located near Taroko Mall. I think this hotel is one of few hotels that provide free parking with affordable price. They also have breakfast provided. Room was clean and comfy, maybe a tad small but we liked the room. It has all the basic necessities. Overall we enjoyed our 2 nights stay here.
The room is clean and the staff is friendly. But the building look old maybe some maintenance need to be done. The price is reasonable and free breakfast is provided. Taichung bus station is about 1.3km away.
If not for the cute receptionists working the night shift, I would probably rate this hotel at 2 stars. Jk! Overall a pleasant experience. For the price, it is good value. Walking distance to the taichung railway station (not the hsr) and a 20 mins cab ride to fengchia night market. Toiletries could be better but expected for a hotel of this range. Limited variety for breakfast but again okay for this price point.
Seems people over rated this hotel. Service was good but the room is just so so only. Picture on the website looks "WAAAA" but once you arrived, its an old building. Location wise to the train station was close.
The lobby does not tell the story. It is all shiny and new with lost of staff with nothing to do. The rooms are old and the bathroom reminds me of Shanghai hotels in the 1980s. If you are more than 5 feet tall, you will find the beds and the bathroom way too small. This is no bargin.
The hotel is pretty centrally located . The staff are very accommodating and friendly. The room is large but very dated and smells a bit "old" the beds are firm and comfortable. All of the rooms are mini suites with a large family room with a large table, TV and small refrigerator. My room on the third floor had a nice balcony. Overall, a good value
First the pros: The hotel is centrally located; the family room we booked (for 2 adults, 2 kids) included a large table with four chairs in a sitting/dining/work space separated from the sleeping area by a large glass window; the beds were quite comfortable and the linens were clean; and the breakfast was serviceable. Now the cons: Aside from the hotel lobby, the hotel looks rather worn, including inside the room and bathroom; our room had a stale smoke smell, probably leftover from years ago; the bus tourists arrived late in the evening and they were very noisy both late into the night as well as early in the morning; the breakfast area wasn't large enough to accommodate everyone wishing to sit down at the time that we went for breakfast; and our room had a window to the outside that looked right onto a large wall, so there really was no natural light in our room.
The hotel is an old and trusted one ! Its proximity to the bus and train stations is a big plus factor. The rooms are spacious and the one given to us is with a conference table. I don't like the buffet breakfast though.. 100 Chinese breakfast .. But still ok! Still the hotel is best in functionality and a practical choice for both budget and business stay!
Very near both the bus and train stations! Good for business travelers who would like to spend a night or two in Taichung! Rooms are spacious although a bit old in design.. Will surely be back for a quick business trip!
