Book a tour guide and they check us in this hotel. We went to places first and we stayed for a night when we went to Taichung. Though we checked in at night after our tour, we didn't have any problems while checking in. They even instructed us on how to use their key cards. Our room was neat and it has a full length mirror. They have the basic amenities as well. Breakfast was also included and it was

If I could give 0 star to this hotel, I would. The hallway has the smell of raw sewage. When I walked into the room, right away I noticed the dirty walls and the stained couch. Not off to a good start, but maybe ok if I just stayed off the couch. Later in the evening we went to SOGO department store, for dinner and some shopping, which is conveniently located just across the street. We got back to the hotel room fairly late, and that's when we noticed the cigarette smell, very faint. It was very late though and all of us just wanted to sleep so we didn't change room until the next morning when the cigarette smell became unbearable. Our new room was really not that different, two floors higher, same sewage smell in the hallway, stained couch, but no more cigarette smell. The staff never even apologized for the room condition or the inconvenience of moving. We also had a problem with the new toilet - 5 or 6 flushes needed for numero dos. The breakfast on the 11th floor was awful. The table cloth was not replaced or cleaned after guests so we actually sat there one morning with some disgusting crap left behind by previous guests. I really can't think of one good thing to say about this hotel other than its proximity to SOGO. I wish I had paid more and stayed somewhere else, even Splendor next door.

This was an excellent place to stay at, clean and nice large rooms. The location was fantastic right in the heart of Taichung which was easy to access everything by foot. We got to check out a few rooms and after we found one with a cockroach inside were quickly upgraded to a spelendor breakfast and a new room. All in all it was an enjoyable experience.

I stayed at this hotel for a week to visit Taichung Bike Week and a couple of days either side. The room was clean, it was spacious, and was made up -sort of made up- every day. There was ample wardrobe space, kitchen sink and fridge, sofa and coffee table, a desk, and the TV was 32". The bed however was like a slab of granite. The bathroom was quite large and had a bath with shower hose inside. This sprayed everywhere as the head was slightly broken and created a lake -maybe an ocean- on the bathroom floor after the shortest of showers. The room and bathroom did look a bit dated, although as mention, clean on the surface. I lost my phone one morning though and whilst searching for it I checked under the bed and under the sofa. BAD IDEA. That hadn't been touched for some time!!! During the show, due to lots of space being needed for exhibitors, you get to have breakfast at the Brasserie on the 12th floor, which is where the residents of the Inn's bigger brother, the Splendor, eat breakfast. This breakfast is fantastic. The choice is never ending, so it was with a bit of a crash that after the show had been dismantled they moved us from the "Inn" down to the 11th floor for breakfast on large undressed tables to be shared, and a choice of anemic looking meats, stale bread rolls, a couple of juices, and not much else. I suppose you get what you pay for as the price was cheap, and I guess the Splendor would have been more (not sure of this though as it was fully booked for the show).

This hotel is attached to the more upmarket Splendor Hotel. The facilities and rooms are exactly as you would expect. The advantage is that you can use the concierge and taxi service of the Splendor for about half the price. Walking distance to SoGo and dozens of local restaurants make it an interesting hotel for short stays.

We stayed here for an overnight stay. Nothing special in this hotel. Beds and pillows not comfortable enough to have a good sleep. We asked for assistance for our luggage going to our room but it took more than 15 minutes for the bell service to arrive so we decided to carry it on our own. The amenities in the room was great and we really appreciate that they blocked us on a high floor. This should be a 3-star rating for me but I can't give it because breakfast was so disappointing. Not good in any ways. Breakfast is closed at 930. The funny part is, even if you're still eating or drinking your coffee, they will ask you to go and leave the restaurant. Frontdesk and housekeeping staff are helpful.

Maybe it's my limited exposure to how things are with accommodations across the globe, but when I read "Inn" I usually think of small to medium sized establishments with no more than 20 rooms. That is why I believe that this is no inn. Park Lane Inn is a full-blown 3 star hotel offering spacious rooms for what they're charging. My 23 month old son loved the carpeted open space. So... a comfortable clean room, fast WiFi access, breakfast, with malls, nice places to eat and a few tourist attractions within a block and staff who can speak, read and write English well enough to help you navigate the city (communicating with taxi drivers in English is nearly hopeless). There's hardly anything I would personally ask for.

My husband was given a room here due that Splendor Hotel next door was fully booked. Since he was on business in Taichung for a couple of days,he asked the kids and I to come with him since the kids have some break from school and we wanted to go to the Natural Science Museum nearby for a bit of educational field trip. The room given was small. With only a single double bed. Our daughter had to sleep on the couch. The room was ok, as it was clean and we do love that it was wood flooring due to our son's allergies. The staff were helpful but not as friendly. No one bothered to hail me a taxi upon check out noting that I had kids and laguage going to the HSR station. And Somebody took the shopping catalogue from the room when I was about to make a purchase!!! Pity must be a bit of Discrimination in their part.

If you are here for the city view, you will enjoy the good high level view of the city. If you are here for a comfortable new and modern room decor, you might be disappointed. Room is clean, but old like an legacy style hotel. Wooden floor is rarely seen these days. However, reasonable price and a good breakfast may compensate your expectations to a comfortable staying.

Prices were reasonable, Room was clean. Staff was very helpful. Internet was available, but you had to get a cable and plug in. Room service cleaned every day at our convenience. They even washed our breakfast dishes. While here for business, we acquired a single electrical burner and a toaster oven, which allowed us to have a fully functional food prep area. Laundry (coin operated) available in business center along with some treadmills with TV. Good bang for your buck especially if you want to live more like a local or are looking for a short-term type stay… (ours was 6 months). Staff aided in planning a dinner party for us, and assisted my husband in obtaining a surprise 2 dozen roses for my b-day that he had staff sneak in leave for me while I was out for groceries. Very sweet (husband & staff).
