The inside of the hotel is nice but the area around it is filled with homeless vagrants. The other issue is that the area, including the inside of the hotel smells like rank sewage. You would think they’d do something about the smell at least in the elevators but the smell radiates throughout the entire building.

The hotel to stay in Taichung

This has to be the Top choice should you be coming to Taichung. Excellent customer service and well furnished rooms. The breakfast buffet is one of the highlight of the stay. The hotel is in the prime location near to the railway station and the famous 宫源眼科 is just within walking distance nearby.

The staff in the concierge were very helpful to my short trip, all of whom were willing and took initiative in providing useful advice on where I should go. Room is big but the design is kind of odd, didn’t look as good as in the pictures. Shower and bath are nice. Breakfast time is too early, ends at 10am. I really didn’t enjoy waking up so early only to eat leftover food.

My son couldn’t stand the horrible smell

The sewage smell permeated throughout the elevator area and all the floors hallways. No escape. They couldn’t have it fixed on our second stay there either.

Large and well decorated but some quirks

Very large rooms and well decorated, however even though hotel did not appear full would not allow early check-in. Also found some hairs in the bed and bathroom, but overall was very clean. The lighting was strange - with no separate bathroom controls which is inconvenient if need to use bathroom in the night.
