I've stayed at this wonderful place at last once or twice a year but never thought to write a review till now. This place is my home away from home. The rooms are spacious, modern and most importantly clean. Although English is not the staff's primary language, they really work hard to understand the guests needs. I stay here mainly for business and many of my vendors love picking me up here since it's close to the industrial park in Taichung. The breakfast is amazing for the price I paid for my stay, wish there was six stars to give.
Booked 2 rooms (family room and a normal double room), they gave us a complimentary upgrade to 2 family rooms. Rooms were spacious with plenty of walking space, even with two double beds, a sofa, armchair and small coffeetable. Toilets were great too! With a tub and separate shower on left side of room door and a separate toilet on right of room door. Free wifi was available. Breakfast spread was basic, chinese menu, salads, bread ham cheese etc. does get boring if u stay longer. Most occupants were here on business. We were the rare family around. Note that this hotel is pretty far from Fengjia night market (20-30min drive in peak hour traffic in evenings). All in all, had a great stay here!
We stayed at Hung's Mansion for our recent trip to Taichung. The room is big compared to Taipei. The hotel is in a relatively convenient location, being about 15 minutes walk to the shopping malls like Top City. Hotel staff were also very helpful with any queries you may have. However, the spread of the hotel's breakfast was almost the same everyday. You can get quite tired of the food after a few days there. Overall, Hung's Mansion is still a relatively good hotel and is quite value for money. Will stay there if we are to visit Taichung again.
This is the second time I stayed here for business. The lobby and rooms are well designed and spacious. Somewhat minimalistic. I came at a Monday. Just like last time the lobby and restaurant seemed deserted. Surely not a lively place to have a drink if you like some people around you. But the staff was friendly and professional. Some beers in the minibar would have made it better though
There are occasions when you walk into a Hotel room and say….wow…I wish they were all like this! They were expecting me and I was checked in and in my room within a 5 minutes. Besides the key card, I received a voucher for a free drink or Cocktail in the bar (which was a nice gesture). My room was really large and it was clean, had a huge double bed, big desk, 3 seater sofa wi-fi, 40" LCD TV, kettle and minibar . There was some complimentary fruit and some bottles of water in the room. I then walked into the bathroom. There were 2 sinks towels and toweling dressing gowns, digital scales, proper comfy slippers, a toilet that was completely electronic and encased in its own glass mini-room, a bath, a separate shower (also encased in its own glass mini-room), a TV in the wall with loud speakers (so that you could still hear it if you were on the toilet or in the shower and L'occitane toiletries. I turned the TV on, and besides all the Chinese speaking channels, there were also plenty of English speaking ones. The Air conditioning was excellent and quiet, and there was a whole wall with glass windows that showed the Taichung Skyline. I was on the 9th floor and did not really hear any street noise. I had a Shower and crawled into bed. I went to bed at about 2330 and fell asleep pretty much immediately. I slept until 0715 when my alarm woke me up. I ate breakfast in the room (there was a kettle and I made myself a coffee). I checked out at 0850. Overall – Excellent - not too expensive – really clean – fantastic room – Great service- I can't fault anything. If in Taichung again, I would definitely consider staying here again.
Stayed in Hung's Mansion in Oct 2016. The room's size is good and the very modern. Room facilities is great and new ! Location is very good too ! There is a bus stop ( Chaoma ) right outside the hotel. Took a bus directly from Taoyuan airport to right outside the hotel. Shopping mall is about 8-10 mins walk from the hotel and cab fare to Fengjia night market is about TWD 105. Staffs are also very friendly and welcoming ! A fantastic stay in Taichung at Hung's Mansion.
Very nice hotel , service and disposability of the staff , very cosy hotel and wonderfull decoration , rooms are very big and king bed and bathroom , very nice also location for business and shopping , just the breakfast (many food for Asian ) little for western people ?!!! My second time here and next time come back here
i like this hotel very much, situated in a good location around 5 minutes walk to 2 famous shopping mall in taichung prime area, price is very reasonable, room space is very spacious, comfortable bed, have a seating area which we dont usually find in hotel nowadays, bad side is they dont have gym or swimming pool and the buffet breakfast dont have much choices, during my 5 days stay, same menu straight - this the hotel need to improve.
Room was spacious and clean. Very good amenities provided in the room. Bathroom was big with bathtub. Free wifi was great. Breakfast was just ok and was too crowded to wait to be seated. Overall my stay was good and I'll stay there again in future.
I believe the Chinese name of the hotel translates as "Taichung Business Hotel", and that's what it is. A nice, clean, appealing business hotel next to a very busy road with no particular amenities: no pool, no fitness room, no outside seating area to speak of. My room was large and very well decorated and maintained. The bed was fairly soft by Taiwan standards but comfortable. There was a large bathroom with separate shower and tub. A dehumidifier ran 24/7, which didn't bother me, but it was somewhat annoying that the air conditioner turned off when you removed the key card. This meant the room was always hot when you walked in and it took a while to cool down. I found it a bit hard to understand why there were literally only three hangers in the closet. Surely no one only needs three hangers. My room faced away from (very busy) Taiwan Blvd and was very quiet. Wifi in the room was strong and reliable, and I never had to wait more than a few seconds for an elevator. The one thing I strongly disliked about my stay was the breakfast. Maybe the hotel mostly gets Taiwanese visitors because the Western breakfast choices were minimal. All I could find to eat was sliced white bread and cheap packaged jam. I went and bought my own jam in the food department of Mitsukoshi (15 minutes walk), and had I stayed longer, I would have bought pastries there as well and just kept them till the next morning. A good breakfast is an important opener of the day, and this hotel's breakfast fell far short for me. The location of the hotel is alright, not far from Mitsukoshi with restaurants around, but there's not much else of interest. The location is not great for tourists and you wouldn't really stay there unless you were in the area for business. Staff were friendly, reception staff had passable English, others more limited. My hosts paid for my stay so I can't comment on value. Overall it's a pretty good business hotel but I probably wouldn't want to stay there again.
