5 Bedroom Mountain Retreat - Forest Location yet close to Beach, Skiing & Town

5 bedroom 3 bath retreat that backs up to the forest. Steps to beautiful hiking trails while only a 1/2 mile to the beach. Perfect for 2 families.

The home features an open kitchen and living room area, perfect for entertaining. Additionally, the third floor has two decks one facing the lake and the other the forest.

Two of the bedrooms on the main level are located in a in-law suite with an efficiency kitchen; perfect for two families.

The location is perfectly situated between major ski resorts and close to the beach and shopping.

In the winter, 4 wheel drive with snow tires or chains is strongly recommended. Sleds are available in the garage.

Please note that the minimum age to rent the house is 26 years old. We are looking for renters who will treat the home as their own. If you are looking for a party house, please explore other options. Pet's are not allowed.

Perfect house for a perfect weekend

We had the best stay at Jim and Julie’s house! They and their house manager, Stacey, made our stay so easy. This was the perfect house for our girls weekend. We loved relaxing on the porch to start and end the day. The location was perfect. We would definitely come stay here again!

Beautiful home!

Jim and Julie’s home is beautiful, we’ll kept and has everything you need to make for a great stay. The communication from prior to even renting was great and they had many recommendations for things to do in the area. The home was clean and in a great location. We were traveling with our pre-teen and teenager as well as grandparents and everyone has a great time. We would definitely stay here again!

Great Long Holiday Weekend in Tahoe

We really enjoyed our time at Jim and Julie's property in Tahoe Vista. The house was perfect for our family of 4 plus a guest -- plenty of living and sleeping space, even for sprawling teenagers; the two-car garage was a bonus given the heavy snow that fell during our stay. The house is warm and inviting, and immediately encourages relaxation. We tend to cook in rather than eating restaurant food on our family trips (especially in the current environment), and the kitchen is incredibly well-appointed -- everything we could have wanted to make great family dinners. We had a short drive to the northwestern Tahoe ski resorts, making for a terrific vacation. We would definitely go back and enjoy Jim and Julie's home again!

Room to spread out and relax...

Clean, updated cabin with lots of room to spread out, relax and get away from the family when you need to and room for everyone to comfortably gather together for food, fun and laughs. Quiet, secluded neighborhood away from the main roads yet close to Safeway and the beach.

The property was well-equipped, comfortable and perfectly located.

Overall, this house provided the perfect location for my family get-together. The public beach is within walking distance, the hiking trails are close by, it’s close enough to Tahoe city to avoid the traffic, and there wasn’t a thing I would have changed. There is a lot of clean-up requested at the end of the stay, and a high deposit/penalty for leaving any garbage that left us scrambling to have breakfast and clean up by 10 AM, but I respect other people’s house rules. All in all, this was an awesome location, beautiful house and I would happily recommend it to anyone needing 5 queen beds, no bunk beds!

There were ten of us and the house was a perfect fit. Our two grown sons and their families had a wing each for sleeping. The master was on the main level and was well appointed along with the kitchen and main room. We especially loved sitting on the decks in the morning and evening. It was so peaceful. Trails, a zipline, and playgrounds were in walking distance. We used all of them. Julie and Jim always responded quickly to any question or concern. It's a lovely house.

Spacious and fresh, clean home

I was impressed by the home (the photos don't do it justice). The kitchen is new and larger than photos let on. The bedrooms are shockingly large compared to other Tahoe rentals. I was impressed that they had ample and high quality bath towels- everything is top notch. This is a great space for a group and a rare Tahoe rental that has a lot of bedrooms for couples vs. bedrooms full of bunkbeds. Really great location with trailheads just up the street and a very close drive to some great beaches, restaurants, and Safeway. Would absolutely recommend staying here and would return in a heartbeat! Thanks Julie!

Wonderful home for a delightful family vacation in Tahoe!

My family had a wonderful stay in this large Tahoe Vista cabin. The layout was perfect for our group which included small children. The owners were gracious and worked hard to meet all our needs. They were available for any questions and advice. The living area was very comfortable and I can only imagine how nice it would be for a winter stay. The large farmhouse style dining table was great for our family meals. The kitchen was well supplied. We did miss having a microwave in the main kitchen. Loved the mountain neighborhood and a very easy trek over to the park. The location was over all perfect for the amenities the area had to offer. I wanted to give the home 5 star rating and it is close, but a few upgrades and screens on all windows would make it perfect! We would definitely rent this mountain home again!!!

Nice spacious family house

We were in Tahoe for a 150 person family reunion so we rented the Viola's home. There were 4 couples plus 5 kids at the house. It handled the 13 of us very well, and everything was as it was advertised and in working order. Plus Julie was right there on texting whenever I had a question. Very easy to work with. We will most likely rent the house again from Julie.
