Having stayed at the Suva Motor Inn many times in the past, and having seen the switch-over to the Best Western brand, and the immediate, near-doubling of rates; I thought that this was unwarranted price-gouging and expressed that impression to management. "Oh, we will be renovating, an upgrading the hotel." On the contrary, nothing of significance has been done. The dark, ill-lit rooms still feel sub-standard. Plumbing leaks from the new shower arrangement go unreported to management. Sharp metal phalanges on the shower drain nearly has me slice up my feet. The curtain rod fell off the wall after barely touching it. One still can't sit up in bed and read a book due to the way the bed lights are mounted in a long wooden box along the headboard. Did I mention lights? All are neon. The bright spot are the hotel staff. Friendly, helpful, cheerfully. It is the ownership and management that obviously want to keep any profit and not improve, or adequately maintain this property. That is sad. This has potential to be a great situation, but it is not, and the trend does not bode well for the future.

The Suva Motor Inn is always great value when traveling to Suva for a business week and attending meetings. It is hard to beat for location close to both the City center and main offices. The room was spacious, comfortable and clean and you get to know the staff well. I have been traveling to Fiji for 30 years and this Suva stay didn't disappoint. The only issue was the availability of hot water on cloudy days, but I would stay again on my next trip.

Nice but needs elevator. Food was so good. Not to far from main city

While I liked the staff and facilities generally, there were some problems. Cleaning seemed cursory. Inside illumination was dark in the room with the blinds closed. The reading lights on the bedsted did not work well for reading It was difficult but not impossible to find The restaurant & bar were good.

Our stay here wasn't too bad. The location was ok.. pretty central to everything. The Hotel, rooms and pool could use some updating. Wifi is $10USD/hr or $30USD for/24hrs. AC wasn't as strong as we would have liked it to be but was grateful to have the little that we did have! The pool and water slide was nice. The staff was wonderful and very friendly! Overall, we did enjoy our stay.

Greeted with smiles every where. Rm ready when we got there. Employees always available when I needed anything. Food, while in general a different fare than USA was tasty & served in an outdoor setting. Every thing extremely neat & clean. Met many guests in the 'Waterfall Restaurant' . Location within walking distance of Museum, park, & bus lines. We walked to town for shopping & siteseeing. Taxi's always available & inexpensive.

nice people on staff,I'll stay there next time.
