Unbelievable hospitality, beautiful hotel and impeccably kind staff!

One thing that impressed us the most was the helpfulness and friendliness of the staff. They are always very pleasant and helpful. The room we had was nice. We had a park view room on the second level that faced the main road and Albert Park. The room was very spacious with plenty of room, even with two double (or queen-sized?) beds. The WiFi was acceptable - not exceptionally fast, but adequate. The glass-enclosed bathroom was unique, but good (the glass is translucent, but you don't really see much). The breakfast was wonderful. They have a selection of cooked eggs that you can choose from. There is also a good selection of cereals, breads, fruit, and hot dishes, such as soup, hash browns, sausages, baked beans, and a hot dish of chop suey or stir fry of some sort. Also, they have a juice blender and will make any juice for you that you want from a selection of fresh fruits and vegetables. We did not use the swimming pool, but it looked nice and clean and inviting. We only had one meal (apart from breakfast) in the Levuka restaurant, but the food was very good. Only one negative, which someone else had mentioned in a review, was the odor in the stairway. It has a damp smell, as of a wet room which has no ventilation. It is not a particularly bad smell, just rather unpleasant. The grounds are well-kept and attractive. The decor is also very pleasant. Overall it was a very good experience.

Hotel has been wonderfully restored. The rooms are very quiet and comfortable. The staff was very attentive with a very short wait to have items delivered to the room. The included breakfast was first class. Easy walking distance to the Fiji Museum and other attractions.

First the bad: The stairs smell like something has died in there, a long time ago. This normally would not be important, but the elevator is a little slow and staying on the 2nd floor for both of our stays there, why wait minutes to stand when you can walk down a flight. Nice stairs, just hold your breath. The other thing that really bothered us was the bathrooms. They are very nice, but they have see through walls. They have an moderately opaque frosting on the middle of the glass walls, but have a designed etched in them that is completely translucent. This allows you to be seated on the toilet and view what everyone else is doing and vice versa. That does not make for a comforting toilet experience in my opinion and to be walking around the room and have to consciously avoid looking in the direction as to not see someone sitting on the toilet or taking a shower. The good: The staff, especially Jane, were friendly and respectful. The Breakfast is a real treat and is included. Internet is fast and included. Drinks at the bar are wonderfully made and presented. The whole hotel and pool is beautiful. We would recommend the Premiere Room over the Club room. It is cheaper and the same room items, but less wasted space. However, Happy hour drinks are included with the Club room at the Victoria Lounge upstairs and the Fiji Coloda is a wonderful drink. You can easily walk 5 minutes to the main Suva City shops and feel safe the whole walk day or at midnight.

We made a mistake and booked this hotel not realizing how far it was from the airport, but the hotel was great and the staff was as well. It is a good hotel and a good location in Suva if you want to be on that side of the island.
