My golden rule of travel is to spend the last few nights of your holiday at the best hotel you can afford - so in Fiji we ended our trip with two nights at the GPH. Room 206 overlooking the oval to the west was sizeable, with a bed that you need a shuttle to get to your partner and wonderful simple bathroom. The hotel has a nice pool and great buffet breakfast. We had dinner there both nights and had nothing to complain about. All the staff were all delightful. I would stay there again in an instant. My partner would like to move in!
We attended an evening event hosted by Hot Glass Fiji and decided to stay at the GPH where the showing was held. Upon checking in we were impressed with the service. Many thanks to Iva, the front desk clerk. She is a treasure. The rooms are large, the bathroom huge and the room was clean . A nice touch is having Pure Fiji toiletries in the rooms. After settling in Iva called to make sure everything was up to standard and shortly thereafter a dish of fresh fruit was brought to the room. Unlike many properties we have stayed at, the free WiFi worked fantastically well. The restaurant staff is attentive and friendly, the service is a bit slow. We had a very good Caesar Salad. The main was improperly prepared and we sent them back. The manager compt our dinner though we offered to pay for the salads. We later ordered room service and had an excellent meal. The next morning we had the complimentary breakfast buffet. It was good. We’re looking forward to staying at the GPH again.
So beautiful to sit poolside and watch the sunset with a cocktail! Not cheap but worth the beautiful experience as a special treat when visiting Suva. Lots of history surrounds this renovated hotel, Staff friendly. Happy hour each day.
The GPH is without doubt something Fiji should be very proud of. Everything about the hotel: ambience, cleanliness , friendly staff , service , management, food , location are all 5 star. Having stayed there many times it never lets me down.
Very pathetic kitchen service.Food tasted as though it was simply reheated from the freezer and not freshly made. Bread and pastries quality were pathetic. The kitchen staff were so rude when we tried to talk to them. The only awesome thing was the whole cake we ordered made by some Savnesh. It was just worth the dollar. Other than that the food quality has deteriorated compared to the same time last year. Grand Pacific Hotel is not living to its 5star rating.
After a really impressive entrance, and friendly welcome, we were ultimately disappointed with this grand hotel. The historic part of the hotel has been beautifully renovated, however our room which was a superior premium room really didnt live up to the luxery standard of the historic areas. Although the room was large and had a king sized bed, it had only single facilities (like cups, chairs). The glass bathroom was completely style over substance providing no noise barrier and only a single oversized basin with no bench space for toiletries. Food and drinks were mixed with cocktails really disappointing with virtually no alcohol in our pina coladas. Buffet breakfast was was nice. Friendliness of staff was mixed with some being great, and others less so. As beautiful and grand as the building is, I don't think it's worth the price.
We stayed a week at the GPH. It was our second time to stay and in the meantime we had visited for drinks and food many times. The hotel is a beautiful building and is kept impeccably. Our room was exceptionally clean - housekeeping did a great job. The rooms are neutrally decorated and don’t really have any Fiji/South Pacific character. Breakfast was good. Service in the bar/terrace remains a little slow (we’ve noticed this since the hotel first opened). On this visit we felt the hotel had lost some of its atmosphere and busy evening social scene. There wasn’t any live music in the evenings - which we’d enjoyed on previous visits - and so we went a couple of times to the Holiday Inn next door for evenings out to enjoy live music and drinks.
A fabulous hotel with colonial charm & modernity. Located opposite Albert Park within proximity to the Museum, this was an ideal spot for us. The décor is very tasteful. We enjoyed the sheer luxury – welcome with a refreshing chilled coconut water and complementary 10 minute foot spa in a luxurious venue. The service was hard to fault. Views of the harbour are fantastic, during breakfast I saw a cruise ship approaching the wharf. I enjoyed my lunch of herbed chicken curry which was beautifully presented. The breakfast could have had more thought – some pastries appeared stale, some local foods like curries could have been nice too. We definitely want to return!!
There's not a lot of beautiful hotels in Suva but GPH is certainly out of this world. It's a newly built colonial hotel set on one of the prettiest parts of Suva. I absolutely loved walking around and revisiting all the little areas that I grew up in. It's a short walk to town and right on the waterfront and opposite the botanical gardens. I highly recommend the hotel and the staff were really wonderful and friendly.
Stunning place but the best thing was the friendly and extremely lovely staff! Special shout out to Milly Vakaloloma & Makatera. These ladies are an asset to this hotel! Milly especially is just wonderful and helped make my trip with my mom so memorable and beautiful ❤️
