Our stay at Bidwell House exceeded our expectations. Staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was clean, comfortable, quiet and quaint. The Inn offered many niceties from complementary afternoon sherry, coffee and tea available anytime, well maintained grounds with plenty of spots to sit down and relax. Breakfast was delicious! Homemade and different every morning.

Beautiful and clean room. The staff were professional, knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. The breakfast were delicious 😋. Location was perfect, especially if you love the outdoors. Short walking distance to the meadow, river and the lake. The landscaping was immaculate and impressive. Lots of public indoor sitting areas in front of the fireplace, at the front porch and other places within or around the property. Definitely a place to return and highly recommend it. Small town charm.

Back to the Bidwell House!

First off, this is an historic resort, and it is not air conditioned. Our room had a tower fan that ran continually and as soon as it cooled down at night, we got the windows open. Second, this is not a resort for small children, as there isn’t really much for them to do - no pool, no playground. However it is an excellent place for adults to use as a base of operations for exploring in the area. Great breakfast, a wonderful main lodge and patio, as well as a porch swing out front. As a historic building be prepared to see the age, in some creaky boards in the walkways, and a bit of a struggle to get the windows open or closed. But it’s all so worth it! We will certainly be back.
