Property is clean and within walking distance of shops, night market, and mall. Breakfast has variety. Two things were not adequate for my needs...no outlet by the bed so i could not use my cpap and the bed was very hard, more so than usual for a Thai motel.

Great hotel

Very impressed with service, location, cleanliness, and breakfast. After staying in many of Surats hotels this is my favourite so far. My 1st time here but definitely returning on my next visit.

Great but dated

I have been staying in the diamond ever time I go to Surat Thani for years now, it is clean the restaurant food is excellent and the location great. The negatives are its not maintained well and very dated but it would have looked great in the 80's. I have tried other hotels in Surat but always go back to the diamond however there are some new modern places oppening up so I think I will try one of those next time.

Ok for 1 night

I have stayed here several times as an overnight stopover before going to and returning from Koh Samui. The hotel is clean and comfortable for one night. The breakfast is always disappointing . The food is always cold. Watch out for dodgy concierge staff who try to arrange your transfer to Koh Samui at very inflated price. It is easy to do it yourself. Just get transport from outside the hotel to Seatrans office (50-100 baht depending on your negotiating skills). At Seatrans office you pay 100 baht for coach to Domsak Pier, 140 baht for ferry and you can also pay 150 baht for van to any hotel on Koh Samui.
