The house was perfect for us!We loved the views from both porches. The weather was cold for the beach during our stay. But we were able to sit on porch facing the ocean and it was perfect. We were not bothered by the wind.The house was clean. The kitchen was nice and had everything we needed. Dinning table was perfect size. We enjoyed game night most nights!I highly recommend this house. The only thing that was a little awkward was the washer and dryer are stacked. Even with a stool to stand on we were not able to see the knobs on dryer. Am not a short lady .. am 5’5 and my daughter is 5’7. But everything else was great!We will definitely seek this place again!!

Charming property and lovely beach!

We greatly enjoyed our 4 nights at Beach Nuts, but unfortunately, we were unable to stay the remainder of the week due to plumbing issues with a bathroom and the kitchen. Nevertheless, it's a great property, and putting the two teenage girls in the bedroom downstairs was great! We'd recommend a few more essentials, like a wine opener and hand towels, and fixing the stovetop burners. Proactive Vacations was helpful and responsive working with the owners and getting us into a new property.

Overpriced and oversold by the pictures

This was our 2nd trip to Holden Beach and a different property from last year. I have to start by saying I'm really confused by the positive reviews of this house. At first I thought I was being overly critical but as another guest arrived after us there were immediate complaints and disappointed comments about the property. I'll start with the positives: the location, beach access, and newly renovated decks and AC. Considering we spent most of our time on the beach or decks the property was great. It is not too close to a public beach access so we felt we had a nice chunk of real estate to spread out and not feel crowded at all. Looking to the left and right of us it was a lot more crowded a 1/4 mile in each direction. The Negative: The rest of the house really needs some work and TLC. I have pictures I'm going to put up on instagram and tag proactive in. The cleanliness of the house was very disappointing. The house needs a really good deep clean from the ceiling fans to the HVAC air returns, sticky fluids on cabinet walls and faces. This place has not been wiped down in some time. Several bulbs were out, broken lamps that no longer work or cannot work because the switch is missing. The cookware is in awful shape with lots of non stick finish scraped off. The stove top has a couple burners that do not set level and are just loose in their bracket. The screen door is on the verge of just falling apart. We had to repair the screen itself many times. An exposed screw coming out of the counter by the main entrance would catch your skin and clothing. Missing blinds on windows. I know this all seems nit picky, maybe not but all together I felt very oversold and over charged on this property. We did report many of these issues to the property management company and it took a couple days for anyone to show up to fix what they could(the missing blind was replaced on friday...) and even then the maintenance person brushed it off to poor house keeping and lack of owner upkeep. I agree with him. Many of the issues we have do come down to lack of care in the property. The furniture is cheap and out dated as well as the kitchen and cookware. I will not rent this property again.

Great house, awesome deck, great beach!

We had a wonderful family Thanksgiving at the beach. The weather was awesome. We were able to keep the windows open and go to bed and wake up with the sound of the waves... in November! Open living area was very nice, especially when making Thanksgiving dinner. Being able to interact with everyone was special versus being cooped up in my kitchen at home.

Family week at the beach

Beach was EXCELLENT! Huge amount of beach even at high tide! Great for beach golf , bocci ball and corn hole tournaments ! Miles of uncrowned sand to stroll, turtle nests hatching everywhere! 2 beautiful covered porches with great rockers! Bikes were a blast! The house was a little small for 13 of us in the living area, but great use of space overall. Kitchen was stocked well with plates, glasses and silverware, but pots and pans marginal. Downstairs bedroom was to warm and musty smelling but the kids managed with large floor fan provided . Temperature in the house seemed to go up during the night , but ceiling fans in every room were key. Overall super clean and functional with an excellent beach!!!

Needs update

We had a good time. Space for our family of 12 to eat and spend time together very small. Furniture needs replaced really dirty. Found a tick on large sofa. Need electrical outlets in bathroom. We had planned on children sleeping in downstairs bedroom, but not being able to have inside access we couldn’t do that. I didn’t understand that for rental info. We love access to beach and view. This house overall was a little small for our family. We will look at some other properties for next year. We decided we want to come back to Holden Beach next year. Thank you for sharing your house with us.

First Trip To Holden Beach

We absolutely loved Beach Nuts. We were slightly concerned about being ahead of Beach weather since our trip was early to mid-May but it was perfect. My only suggestion would be maybe with the next remodel that outlets be installed in all bathrooms. The house was well kept and clean. The covered porches with those wonderful rocking chairs was what attracted us to the property and we were not disappointed!

Property needs upgrades in kitchen and baths.

Need s better supplies kitchen utensils and dishes etc. Stove needs upgrade or thorough cleaning especially oven. Bathrooms are small the glass doors had been removed and replace with a cheap shower curtain not properly installed. I would rate the house as average to below average for rate and condition. You can make do with it but most of it is all worn out. Would return to this house if it were upgraded. Location good.

Ok, needs more attention to maintenance and housekeeping.

Beautiful views of beach , ocean and marsh. Great porches with plenty of room for everyone. Garage and downstairs room pretty much unusable other than storage. Almost all bikes in need of repair. Corner hole boards in great shape but bring your own bags. Only 4 at House. Cleaning was sub standard to other vacation homes we have rented. Cable and wireless marginal. We had to call the 1st 3 days to get it functional. Since it rained everyday for half the day this was an issue. Proactive was very responsive, but thes things should be done befor renters get there. The cable guy said he has to come to this rental every new renter to repair.

Nice accommodations... Wonderful beach view... Few small problems but nothing we couldn'thandle

Loved the location... Family had a great time... Loved seeing my kids and new family members enjoying getting to know each other again... Had a few minor things that were a little bothersome like the gate leading down the walkway to the beach had no safety latch to help ensure my 3 yo grandson didn't take off without us to the water... A rocker, on beachside porch, rocker broke... And 2 of the kitchen chairs were coming apart... And the storm on the last night knocked the power out (an unavoidable and a slight irritation...lol) Otherwise we all had a really wonderful time... We are considering making this a yearly trip and look forward to next time

Great for family get-togethers.

The property had everything we needed to enjoy a few days together as a family. We had 10 adults and an infant. So, we enjoyed the rocking chairs and even the little chair for the little one. We especially enjoyed having the direct beach access. The bedrooms that face the beach have sliding glass doors, which makes it nice to open the door to hear the ocean.
