During the week 25/11-30/11 we stayed at this resort. We have stayed here previously over the last 5 years. This year and last year was in the penthouse. We have noticed the cleaning standards have been dropping slowly over this period. I find myself having to comment about this year in particular and my complete disappointment at the management’s attitude to such. In one of the children’s bedrooms we found the mattress protector was filthy with stains all over it. I called reception and reported this, the manager came up and looked at it and all he said was that he apologised. Clearly management isn’t checking the cleaning standards as this has obviously been left for sometime. I also find myself appalled that he said the mattresses had just been sanitized, why bother if you’re putting a dirty stained mattress protector back on top. During our stay we also found the lounge was filled with food remnants and the draws in the bedrooms were also dirty and had rubbish left there by previous tenants. Don’t bother either with the wifi it only worked for us for 1 and 1/2 days out of our 5 day stay. Whilst this apartment is air conditioner it doesn’t reach to all the bedrooms. The one bedroom it didn’t reach had a ceiling fan but it was very slow even on high. We were told that this was for children’s safety so be prepared to sweat it out in one of the rooms if you book this apartment. Unfortunately due to this we won’t be recommending or staying here next year. Highly disappointed.
Top floor one bedroom room suite, just wonderful. Fully appointed to enable a great stay. Christmas day we went swimming, cooked a light lunch and watched movies on the action channel. Just a relaxing time in a cool home away from home. The Kings Beach sea pool is just a short walk and Kings Beach is just beside it. Able to take advantage of both at 0450 for most invigorating start to the day. Breakfast vouchers are great and we sampled the three restaurants with no complaints. A great idea.
Very good location. Spacious unit. A little tired, not spotless, but comfortable. Well appointed and lovely view. Good pool and sauna. Breakfast consisted of a choice from three cafes located in the building, which was great. I would recommend and stay again.
The location of the resort is great, across the road from the beach and in the heart of Kings Beach. The area is a little small if you are looking for multiple walkable food options, with most local places closing early (between 6pm - 8pm). Overall though, its a nice to of the way place which is less populated giving you the feeling of being far away from everyone, yet close to all modern conveniences. The resort is nice, but there are some small details that could have been better. For example, we stayed in a two bedroom apartment. They are well appointed and comfortable, however the second bedroom did not have an air conditioning unit and has no opening window, so kids were very a little uncomfortable during the night. Yes, first world problems, but when you stay in a beach side resort, there are some basic expectations. The staff were very helpful, making our stay more enjoyable. There is a small games room with a mix of old and new games, which I particularly enjoyed. I also set the high score on Galaga and 1942 each night :) Overall its a great place to holiday with the family and despite some minor things, its a very nice resort and families can certainly get good value in a great location. BTW - the wood fired pizza place nearby, doesn't sell wood fired pizzas anymore. They should change their signage....
hotel is located in a prime position across the road from the beach , just a short stroll from a good range of beach side alfresco dinning , great ocean view watching the sunrise over the ocean was beautiful , we will be back for sure .
After reading the previous reviews we weren't sure whether to stick to our favourite accommodation in Caloundra or take a chance on Ultiqa. Extremely glad we did. We chose the one bedroom apartment which had a great view to the water from the 2nd floor. Very spacious, complete with coffee plunger & IPOD station. Aircon worked well, relatively quiet and bed was comfy. All staff were very helpful and friendly and quick to respond to any requests. Breakfast vouchers were great. We used them at "Black Jasmine" for the 3 mornings. Quite a good choice. I found that the fruit juice & eggs and bacon on toast were enough each morning. The wife liked the banana berry sundae. A very enjoyable stay all up.
We hosted an overseas couple from USA,and decided to show them an example of sunshine beach area,we chose ultiqa for its proximity to qld sea and beaches, and also close proximity to the hinterland area.lthis property is right on kings beach precinct, We chose 2 self contained apartments, adjacent to each other, our guests as we,were greatly pleased by the property, close to restaurants and within 1 hour drive to the spectacular sunshine hinterland.our guests left QLD and Australia by that mundane and much used expression *GOBSMACKED*
Great spot to over look the beach. Really close to number of restaurants and small convenience store. All rooms have a water view with balcony which is great. Our room was nice but was a little run down. When the sun was up so where you, the blinds in our room where not the best, the living area had no blind at all. If you want to kick back and watch tv it wss difficult with sun going straight on to it. Being that the rooms are privately owned and managed by the resort the owner may need to spend few dollars fixing this up. Otherwise great spot, room was really tidy and would happily stay there again.
We had three nights here loved every minute , awesome location clean apartment close to all restaurants great views to Kings beach . Pool & spa with views ,games room with sauna , very relaxing stay highly recommended
Very well located resort hotel with good amenities. Restaurants and bars within walking distance as well as the best beach in Queensland just across the road. The only let down was the unit we stayed in was a little tired and I would have preferred a higher floor as the people in the pool looked straight in on us. Other than that a great stay!!
