$600 for 2 nights First impressions was good with nice views and well appointed accommodation . But Steps everywhere which can be a struggle if you have loads of bags .. Aircon in the bedroom didn't work and was supposed to have been fixed on the 2nd day but wasn't . Whirlpool bath didn't work and the tap was hanging off the wall .... The free wifi is non existent....about 2mb when it does work ... Not really impressed
I stayed at the Rise many times. My last visit was 4 years ago and I felt that the Rise was in need of maintenance and upgrade and that it was dirtier. I expressed my concerns to the Management when I booked this year and I was told that they were refurbishing the units and that they were doing maintenance to the property. We stayed in a townhouse on the second level and it was beautiful and immaculate. We had a view of the ocean from our balcony. We were two couples with a 5 years old child in a three bedroom apartment. We loved the fact that the rooms were downstairs and the living area with the balcony upstairs. The pool was perfect and parking is provided. The staff was also very friendly and helpful. Our apartment had a Nespresso coffee machine, which was a plus for us!
We had a fantastic time staying at the rise in noosa. A great location for the Sunshine coast. Our apartment was above expectation & found the staff to be very friendly & helpful. Dont be afraid to ask advise as they have great local knowledge. Thank you to the rise. We will be back soon.
I booked 4 apartments here for a girls weekend away. Upon check in was given a stern rundown on party policy which I found unnecessary. After lugging everyting in a tiny lift then diacovered we had to walk up two big flights of stairs, ok suck it up and lets get to rooms. On firat look they looked beautiful- nice furnishings and brilliant ocean view. However the cleaners here are just not good enough for the price you pay. The floors were all dirty, there was dust on some surfaces and hair. The worst part is the air conditioning in all of our rooms. It just wasnt working. Although we enjoyed our stay I think it was more the company and what we made of it than our accomodation.
I confirmed our booking, upon arrival after 3pm - (check in was 2pm) I was informed I had at least another 30 minutes to wait before our apartment was ready. Apparently previous guests checked out very late, surely it doesn't take over three hours to clean an apartment. Finally I could access the apartment, parking was downstairs and the luggage trolleys were filthy with cement dust all over them, nor were they very useful. After struggling with useless small trolley up to the level of apartment 29 I alighted from the lift and faced more steps - really how are you meant to manage everything with a trolley and steps????? I had luggage, food, wine etc - totally unimpressed. I was informed at check in that the apartment had amazing views - that would be if you didn't need to close the shutters ALL DAY due to the sun blazing in on you, air conditioning up stairs was hopeless. On our last day we checked out early in the morning as we wanted to spend the last day in Noosa at Little Cove, the couple at reception were very friendly and offered us beach towels which we happily accepted and also let us keep the car in the parking bay downstairs until we were finished with the beach. On return to reception to deliver our towels the surly middle aged receptionist just grunted at us to leave our towels in a corner, I commented that despite us shaking as much sand as possible from the towel there was still quite a bit of sand on them. With that, she snatched them from me very rudely and disappeared down some stairs. When we left for the beach in the morning I was quite happy but when we returned the towels the surly receptionist changed all of our opinions. We won't be going back. Also when we were struggling to get everything out of the apartment for checkout I ran into another guest and I said to him how bad the design of the place was, he told me that his wife was in a wheel chair and it was a complete nightmare to get her down and back to the pool. Surely you wouldn't be accommodating people in wheel chairs in the upper reaches of the resort? Pool is small and not very deep, the promotional photographs are very misleading.
Our stay was perfect. We loved our apartment. We were given all the information we required for our stay at check in and it was smooth sailing from there. The apartment was so spacious and we loved the view and our morning bird visitors from the National Park next door. The location was really convenient as well. Definitely a winner. Thank you.
We booked this place for 10 days in January and were required to pay the full amount of the stay upfront which is generally not required at most places. We had been called prior to our stay by Ann-Marie (the receptionist) asking whether we wanted to “upgrade” to a penthouse. She mentioned it was much better than the apartment we had booked and that it had better ocean views. Upon our arrival we found the penthouse to be dirty, with outdated furniture and a serious lack of amenities (cutlery, shampoo/conditioner, toilet paper, dish washing liquid etc). We were only given a few sachets of each which was not nearly enough to last us our stay. We then had to purchase these things as they refused to supply us with more. This “upgrade” was also right above the only pool which is overlooked by many other apartments. We were subject to a lot of noise from the pool and therefore didn’t want to sit on our balcony. There was the smallest “ocean view” that could only be seen through some trees and from a certain spot on the balcony. When we asked whether our original apartment was available, we moved in and realised how much better it was to the previous. It was clean, there was much nicer furniture and more than enough kitchen tools. It was also a lot quieter as it was away from the very noisy pool. The “ocean views” were only slightly better but it didn’t matter as the apartment was much nicer. It made us wonder whether Ann-Marie had lied on the phone stating that the upgrade was much better for unknown reasons. The only wifi available is by these vouchers that you have to go and collect from reception and only give you 1.5GB which is not nearly enough. They are reluctant to hand those out as well. On our check out day, Craig (the other manager) was knocking on the door at 10.05 stating that we needed to be out 5 minutes ago when we were just getting our bags up the stairs. This was extremely rude as we knew that we had to be out and we were only been 5 minutes late. Usually there is a 15-30 minute leeway to allow people to pack up. Whilst we were waiting for our taxi until 2 I asked Ann-Marie whether we could have 2 towels to sit by the pool whilst we waited. She refused and said that we should have taken them from our room. I was extremely disgusted by this as we had already checked out, so there was no way for us to go back and get them. I explained this to her and her response was “well you’ll have to dry off in the sun then, or I can charge you for the towels.” I could not believe that I received such a rude, unacceptable response from someone whose job it is to cater to guests needs. My 10 year old had to literally dry off in the sun before our flight just because this awful woman wouldn’t give us a towel. We hadn’t taken the towels, we had simply left them all in our room as that’s what usually occurs and didn’t think this rude woman would refuse to give us fresh towels- especially after 10 straight days of use !! I have stayed in many high end hotels and apartments around the world and never experienced such rude staff who are so unwilling to make sure their guests have a positive experience. Do not stay here if you don’t enjoy a steep walk up the hill from Hastings Street after a long hot day at the beach. It’s not worth it as it is still loud as you are on the main road and can hear noisy cars drive up and down. There are so many stairs within the property as well with only a lift going from the ground to level 1 and no higher, so it is not appropriate for the elderly or prams if you are on the higher levels.
Very nice apartment with a great view and superb decoration but the Wifi does not work propoerly, there is a Nespresso machine but no capsules and there is NO DAILY SERVICE! Our towels were not changed, our beds were not made. Really disappointing fr the price we paid!
We stayed here across two different 3 bed apartments over Christmas and were pleased by the modern clean presentation of our places. The location is great, a short walk into the town. For the money we felt it was about right, the views are great and overall location is nice and quiet. Areas to improve upon for a five circle rating would be 1) internet speed. The wifi was almost unusably slow a lot of the time. 2) size of the pool. It is small and gets crowded so could do with being a bit bigger for the number of apartments. 3) one lift which goes up covering all levels. The split lift system is confusing and we ended up using the stairs most of the time. Overall though, happy with our five night stay and had a great Christmas break here!
The hotel is perfectly located just up the hill from Hasting street... an easy walk down and a quick uber up of you need. The view from the apartments is beautiful but we checked in at 3pm and the aircon wasn't turned on, with the western sun streaming in, there was no way the aircon was going to even have a chance of cooling the place down. There were wooden blinds for the balcony but they were really dated and almost impossible to close (we eventually got them shut the next day with some help from two big guys). The apartments are nice but really needs an update... most of the cupboards are broken or difficult to open in some way. Probably wouldn't rush to stay here again.
