Just back from our 11 nights at Merrima Court unit 5 , everything was good, apartments and surrounds are very clean, and have everything you could need plus Foxtel and wifi which worked well in our apartment, pool looked good but did not use, The position is great 1min. from Kings beach, which in our opinion is best place to stay in Caloundra. The managers are on site and are very easy to deal with and are very helpfull. I believe that if you book direct you can get a better deal
We had one of the ground floor units which more or less had it's own private gate into the (very clean) swimming pool. Wonderful! The only downside was that it could be a bit noisy when the children got going! But there's always going to be a compromise. Lovely large living room & small patio which had the advantage of sliding screens to make it more private as we were right next to the pool. Highly recommend for it's location & also the manager's sense of pride in keeping the place clean & tidy.
My wife and i recently stayed for 7 nights at Merrima Court with our 1 year old son. From start to finish our experance was better than we could have planned. We arrived late in the afternoon after the reception was closed but Malcolm was very acomidating and happy to help with our late check in. They had fantastic sugestions of things to do locally and places to travel. The apartment was very clean and tidy and perfectly laid out for a relaxing family holiday. The location was perfect, walking distance from the beach, shops, swimming pool, and more places to eat than you could count. Parking was a sinch, plenty of it and even your own space for some apartments. Money very well spent!! Quick tip: call Malcolm and discuss the booking before making it, there are so many great apartments so he will find one suited to your needs, he is very acomidating.
The self contained rooms were clean, presentable, and comfortable for us (three adults and two energetic kids). The only thing that could be improved is the fact that there was just one roll of toilet paper available for the five of us, and which was already started. Also there was one one set of toiletries enough for one person only and one towel each, therefore no hand towels and no face washers.
A great spot, 30 second walk to the beach. Check in was easy and friendly. We had a ground floor apartment ( No.3) it was very clean and well appointed, everything you could need for a stay ( we were there 7 days) Bed was comfortable and aircons worked well. Our only problems were small and when I dropped the keys back I was going to tell the person at check out but we had to put the keys in the return box as reception was unattended. Shower head needs to be looked at as it sprays wildly in all directions ( not a big deal) Oven was confusing as some of the dial pictures are hard to make out and though the book is there, it was hard to match the dial up with the book (hope that makes sense) We enjoyed our stay very much and would definitely return in the future if we got a similar good deal.
Great welcome from Malcolm the Manager of the units... Great location close to Kings Beach.. Ocean views, stayed in a two bedroom apartment, very well equipped and comfortable... The unit complex has great security.... Will definitely stay again.. Thank you again Malcolm for a great stay..
Excellent neat & tidy apartment. Perfect for a family with bunk beds in one room and a queen in the main. Kitchen had everything you'd need. Excellent location - everything is within walking distance. Lovely staff. Secure off street undercover parking.
Thank you Malcolm for looking after us so well. Great service and a high standard of presentation was enjoyed in our unit. We appreciated how well managed the complex is ensuring that our stay was so comfortable.
The room was completely different from the pictures. The furniture is old furniture you would see out for collection on yearly rubbish collection day. The table and chairs were sticky and heavily scratched. In addition, there were scratches all over the mugs, all the amenities were poor quality, and the manager specifically warned us to take care when using items and to make sure not to break anything. I am not sure why there was this strict warning, there's honestly nothing of value to break. There was a single air conditioner in the living room, the range was approximately 1.5 metres. The positioning of our room meant there was no air travelling trough at all in the three rooms- the fan literally moved at snail pace in one room and in another it was completely broken. This meant that we couldn't sleep at all during the night, especially given the humid, sticky weather. The towels also had a weird scent- it didn't smell at all like they were washed, and I spotted an orange stain on one towel. I heavily suspect they were indeed unwashed- rather left out to dry. I'd also like to mention the terrible service on the manager's part. Booking.com specifically stated that there would be a 10% deposit, however the manager took the complete pay from our credit card right away. When we confronted him, the manager acted confused and said that he didn't know how to transfer the money back to our account. This shows just how unaccountable and untrustworthy the service is- the manager is completely self- serving and once the money is taken he will assign you to the oldest room in the worst possible location. Furthermore, there was barely half a roll of toilet paper in one bathroom, and maybe one tenth of a roll in another. We stayed for two nights so this was definitely not enough.
We enjoyed our stay at Merrima Court. The unit we had was comfortable and there were lots of kitchen utensils (+salt & pepper!). The extras like the lift to the higher floors was great as was the little bit of extra room in the garage. It's an easy short walk to the headland walkway and to Kings Beach.
