Have just returned home after a 3 night stay at Excellsior in a one bedroom unit. Very comfy bed and generally clean unit, showing its age a bit but not at all detrimental to our stay. Maybe a 10 minute walk back to the beach front including many eateries. In a dead-end street but building work going on in tbe park across the road with trucks coming and going from early morning to late afternoon, bit of a pain. Management were lovely and very helpful.

Friendly and helpful staff. If you book directly with the venue you will save money than if you book online. Very comfortable accommodation. You can save money again if you take your own linen for the extra bed. The pool and spa were advertised as having heated water but in fact this was not the case. The parking would be better if people stick to the parking space that belongs to you instead people parking wherever they felt like. Wonderful location close to SeaLife formerly known as Underwater World. I will return to this place.

The location was perfect for us - walking distance from the waterfront restaurants and across the road from the peaceful river. Kate was really helpful in the lead up and she was also really helpful letting us checkout a bit later due to activities that we had on the morning we were leaving.

This review will feel like a mixed bag. Pros for this place. Great location, you look out over the waterways and due to the street being blocked off at one end to traffic it’s nice and quiet out the front. I met one the new managers and she seemed lovely. Very easy to talk to and helpful as we arrived late and technically their reception was closed but she stayed around to help get keys etc etc. We hired a two bedroom unit so this puts you in the unit block next door to the Excellsior. The units are called starfish cove. Cons. The room we had was so outdated. I noticed it was for sale so the people who own it obviously don’t want to and have not been spending any money on it. It needs some serious renovation. Now I’m not saying that all the rooms are like this but the one we stayed in was. This will be no fault of the managers but the owner needs to cough up some money to renovate.

We have stayed here many times and have never been disappointed. The staff are always very friendly and helpful. The location is perfect, close to everything but away from any noise. The price has always been very reasonable. Would certainly recommend.

My husband and I spent 2 nights at the Excellsior at Mooloolaba and it was the best weekend. The first thing we noticed was the quick and easy check in, even though we arrived after 6pm. We were given an upgrade to a totally refurbished 1 bedroom apartment for free and we were not disappointed as the place was spotless and looked absolutely beautiful. This was a big apartment for 2 people and the decor was black, red and white. It looked stunning and the big lounge was comfortable. There was Austar available. We honestly could not complain about anything, especially the husband and wife management team. Everything is within walking distance to the apartment. We will definitely be going back there again in the new year, but this time for at least 1 week or longer. Will recommend these apartments to friends. These apartments must be the cheapest at Mooloolaba, definitely value for money. The bed was so comfortable and there were extra pillows in the cupboard, if required. The shower was fantastic, lots of pressure and enough room for at least 3 people.

We stayed in unit 9, cost us about $180 per night. Here's a list of some of the things we liked and didn't like. The good: * kitchen looked new, everything worked * good sized balcony and sheltered from rain * Broom and vacuum etc available * had an iron, ironing board, washing machine and dryer The not so good: * no dishwasher * lock on door from main bed to bathroom wasn't working * block out blinds - none * one pillow for each bed, they were flat ones and no extra's hiding in cupboards. * no basic condiments (salt and pepper, oil etc) was also missing a vegetable peeler. There were sachets of tea, coffee and sugar with little uht milks in the fridge. * amount of detergent and toilet paper was minimal even for a 2night stay

We booked this apartment at the last minute and we were not disappointed. It was spacious and clean with a view to die for. It was within walking distance to Mooloolaba cafes and shops. We would definitely stay here again.

We can only say how disappointed we were, on what was supposed to be a special celebration weekend, as my husband had retired that week. The foyer is a dark and dingey, little tiled corridor, so our first impression was not good, especially when we had to wait about 15 minutes for someone to arrive from another location to check us in. That lady, who was just filling in, was very pleasant and helpful during our stay. Our room, although quite spacious, was just so outdated and drab, and we were only able to watch free to air TV, as the Austar connection had been torn from the wall and broken. There was no hairdryer in the room - it was an extra charge from the front desk. The lounge furniture was extremely uncomfortable and faded. The bathroom was quite large and contained washing machine and clothes dryer. The main problem in the bathroom was the large shower, which provided less than 5 minutes of hot water, and it was built so high off the floor that my husband hit the ceiling when raising his arms. The step down from the shower was tiled with treacherous tiles, which were so slippery that I made sure the bath mat was on the step each time. Undercover secure parking was good, although the driveway is the steepest, most difficult access we have ever seen, and the roller door was not working well. Sadly, I think I am posting my first ever negative review, and we will be looking elsewhere next time.

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights while we looked for more permanent accommodations in Mooloolaba. To be honest, we were slightly disappointed with the quality, cleanliness, and customer service for the price that we paid. Upon arrival at noon, there was no one at the reception desk, so we called a contact number posted on the door, she arrived 10 minutes later, and took an additional 15 minutes searching for our reservation in her computer to no avail, ended up showing us to a room, and never saw her at the reception desk again as it was always closed. The location is great, right on the river and only a half mile to the esplanade. For a few nights its ok but the dirtiness of the accommodations would make me look elsewhere for the same price.
