Dockside Mooloolaba

3.5 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

We recently stayed in Room 5. We were overall very disappointed on many counts and this is the first booking I have made via Booking.com that I have rated so poorly. Not all rooms are of same standard of furnishing or freshness and honestly Apt. 5 did not really live up to expectations based on photos on the website. The self contained apartment was tired to the point of looking quite grubby. It was gloomy and we needed to have lights on all day. The small private yard would have been nice to use except the chairs were covered in rust and the seat cushions mouldy so unable to enjoy this area which was also inconvenient to access via the main bedroom in a two bed apartment. The couch had dirt and food debris in the gaps between the cushions. Toilet is off the corridor close to the kitchen and had no window and no fan, the inside of the small vent in the toilet had thick layers of dust. The bathroom also had no vent and the steam was unbearable after a short shower. There was mould around the top of the bath which is a bath/shower arrangement. We specifically asked for a ground floor room due to traveling with older people to then be confronted with the challenge of them having to negotiate this configuration when bathing which was very disappointing. Plus bathroom ceiling is really low and problematic if you are a taller person. The ironing board was ripped. The door looked like it had been removed off the small laundry which leaked but was repaired by a plumber during our stay when they came to resolve the issue of water leaking from apartment above onto the kitchen. This was responded to quickly which was appreciated but delayed our going out as water had to be turned off. There was dirt built up in the track of the sliding door out onto patios. Pillows were like pancakes. Single beds were just a mattress and base and no bed head to rest against and had to pillows then had to lean up against curtains. Wardrobe in second bedroom had 3 fixed hangers so limited ability to store any clothes so lived out of suitcase for our stay. Upon arrival signs in apartment kitchen requested dishes be cleaned and put away or a fee would be incurred. Bathroom had tiny sign advising that is towels had makeup, tanning product etc. a fee would be charged. Could not find mention of this in terms/conditions agreed to at time of booking. Location was ok, but there are many other apartments closer to the esplanade. Really unhappy about all of the above and impact this had on our stay.

Stayed 5 days here and had a wedding to go to. Couldn't complain about the size and cleanliness of the unit. The ease and car parking underground was great and the management was very helpful and friendly. Location was close to the beach and shops. Would recommend staying here.

We chose to stay at Dockside apartments because the price was great and the reviews were positive and we were not disappointed at all! We had a 2 bedroom apartment for the two of us that we loved! The room was clean, large and had everything we needed and more! Due to having our original flights cancelled and having to book with another airline we didn't arrive until almost midnight. It was lovely to find that windows had been left open and the fans on for us - very thoughtful. The bed was possibly a little hard for us, but we slept well and have no complaints. In house Managers Paul and Michelle were lovely. The complex is well maintained and clean. It is not on the beach but close enough to walk which is not a problem, the bonus of this is that it is much quieter. We would definitely stay here again!

Regularly stay at Dockside and the apartments are always clean, well appointed and the facility is well maintained, great pool and bbq area for families and the underground car parking is a real bonus. The 2 bed apartments are great for couples and families. The in-house managers are excellent and make you feel right at home.

The rooms are very nice, very short walk to the beach. Pool is big enough - no one really used it with the beach so close. Management is lovely. Underground parking available plus visitor parking. Wouldn't hesitate to come back again.

This was our second visit since the new managers took over...great break, perfect for our family, good value, good vibe, and new managers go above and beyond to make sure everyone is happy. We will be back.

Clean, well presented rooms. Stayed in a two bedroom apartment with more than enough space for four adults. The road noise from Xmas Eve through to the 27th was of no concern. Great location with a short 5min walk to the surf or a 2min walk to the canals. So happy we've booked again for next year. Thanks Paul great job.

I spent a week at dockside, excellent value for money, great location, unit was very well equipped, clean and comfortable. New managers very helpful. Close walking distance to everything that one could possibly want on a seaside holiday.

The apartment was disgusting I had to clean it most of the first day! We left it in better condition than we found it! The managers Tony and Margo were rude as hell and we were over charged!!!! Never again!!!! I now stay in an apartment ON the beach and they are cheaper and a lot friendlier!! Pays not to be rude to people that keep you in a job!!! But your lose is someone else's gain margin and tony!

I'd start by saying from the outside, the apartments do look nice. It's in a dead end street a short walk to beach and shops. The problems are it's on a very busy corner with lots of traffic. Our room was on the top floor so a bit of a walk(something to consider) We had a private balcony/sun lounge upstairs with a nice view. The rooms really need updating, our griller in the oven was next to useless, hot water service tank is small so you might have to space out showering. There is only one toilet and the return air/ducting is on the back wall. It's noisy if the door is left open. There is a draft under the front door as well. The rooms are noisy at night we could hear a lot of traffic. Not sure if our split system was meant to have heating, but there wasn't any and it did get quite cold late at night. We couldn't find any spare blankets. Maybe the other rooms don't have these problems. The rooms have limited free wifi (250 Meg per day) A selection of Foxtel channels as well Underground secure car parking(keyed entry) There is a heated pool and a barbecue area at ground level.
