We stayed two nights at Cilento Mooloolaba for a friends 40th birthday. We stayed in a two bedroom unit which was quite well appointed. Decor was a little tired but the unit was quite clean. Staying one street back from the beach it was a lot quieter than staying on The Esplanade. We are locals so it was the convenience factor and cost. Very affordable compared to staying on the beach and everything is still very accessible. We actually got to explore First Avenue stores and restaurants that we wouldn't have done if we stayed on The Esplanade.
Last minute two night stay. Great location and walking distance to restaurants and beach. Stayed in two bedroom unit that was clean, tidy and good amenities. The quality of our beds was a problem as they were very hard and it was not a comfortable sleep for the kids and I. Glad we only had to sleep on them for two nights. Otherwise, no complaints.
Just had a 10 night stay at the cilentro, definitely will not go back, grubby, in need of a good clean, and update. Security compromised by the bar/restaurant next door, whose patrons have an agreeement with cilentro, to use the toilet facilities, therefore security doors not locked at night. During 10 nights room was not cleaned, and had to ask for clean towels. Internet was also at a premium rate.
2minutes to Coles off street parking apartments very roomy clean modern. Has a great bar downstairs and a new Tapas bar opening soon also. so close to esplanade beach and restaurants bus stop is convenient to large Maroochydore shopping centre RSL club and Mooloolaba bowls club within walking distance, wonderful Thai restaurant across the car park
our family of 6 stayed and enjoyed a 3 bedroom apartment, ideal as each bedroom had its own ensuite, plenty of room for everyone to sit and enjoy a meal together, the kitchen is very well equipped. We stayed on the 10th floor and being a Friday and Saturday night the bar downstairs was very busy and the noise could be heard in the main room, this wasn't an issue for us as we enjoyed the music but may be for some. Perfect location, will stay here again
Value for money. Modern, clean and comfortable. Seems recently renovated/painted. The main bedroom is 'open plan'. No bathroom door- no privacy. Also, no early morning winter sun with sorrounding buildings blocking the sun.
Stayed 2 nights with family, enjoyed stay had spa bath in room clean and tidy close to everything would stay again 👍was on level 5 no ocean view but was ok with this nice bar down stairs, and Coles close by plus off street parking
We recently spent a four-day break with family at Mooloolaba, with all six of us staying in one large and spacious apartment. Each couple had their own room with en-suite, thus ensuring privacy while giving the option to gather in the single-area kitchen and loungroom. We sat out on the generous-sized balcony in the evenings, looking over the street below, row of apartments to the east and the ocean beyond. We ate out most of the time, but the kitchen was well-appointed should you wish to self-cater. Laundry facilities are provided. The famous shopping and dining precinct lining the shore-front was very close, as was the beach itself. The apartment totally fulfilled its purpose.
My husband and I stayed for 3 nights over the Australia Day long weekend on the 4th floor. We did not want to pay a huge amount of money, so Cilento seemed to be reasonable as all the prices were inflated over this period due to Australia Day. Our unit was spacious and the balcony was very large. You do however look straight into the back of another hotel, but in all fairness, if you look at the website for Cilento you know in advance what to expect. The hotel was only one street back from the main beach, restaurants and shops. It also has a fantastic restaurant/bar downstairs called "The Good Bar" which has great food at reasonable prices. The downside was our bedroom was at the back of the unit and was extremely dark and if you opened the curtains everyone would be able to see in, especially as you had to keep the lights on to see anything. The cleanliness of the unit needs a lot more attention to detail also. Overall Cilento is a good inexpensive place to stay and close to all the main areas of Mooloolaba.
Our experience was similar to the previous reviewer. We stayed in a two-bedroom apartment on the first floor. No balcony, only a courtyard and a high wall at the back of the apartment as the pool was on the other side. The apartment felt a bit dark and claustrophobic. The second bedroom was very small, barely big enough to fit suitcases and only enough room to walk between the beds, with a frosted glass sliding door between it and the living rooms. The master bedroom was better but the ensuite had no wall between it and the bedroom and the toilet cistern was often noisy, hissing and dribbling as if it was leaking inside. We saw a unit on the next floor up and it was a lot nicer with extra facilities (stereo and 2nd TV in the bedroom etc, bigger 2nd bedroom and ensuite separate to master bedroom, and brighter). Otherwise, the apartment was good, clean with a nice kitchen and roomy living room. Staff weren't overly friendly. The photo is a bit deceptive as it does feel a bit crowded by other apartment buildings. I believe the first floor that has an ocean view is the 9th floor, and any of the units on the south side would have the best outlook. Proximity to shops, restaurants, cafes and beach is fantastic so if you plan to spend most of your time out of the apartment then it's a good place to stay and it's likely you would spend a lot more to stay in the beachfront apartments. The bar on the ground floor has great burgers incl GF, and the Lotus Thai restaurant nearby does the best Thai food ever.
