Although the hotel seems a bit old, it appears to be very well maintained, and the staff were extremely friendly. We were able to walk to places to eat. This hotel is nice and the staff were very friendly and helpful. There are quite a few vacant hotels by the Benikea Hotel. Perhaps this part of Yeosu used to be more popular than it is now. We took a taxi in order to go to the cable car, but we did walk to Jongdo island and the beach.

Good facilities and staff, huge rooms and accomodation but hard for travellers without access to a car. Nearest relevant bus stops are 15 minute walks and you're looking at a 45 min bus ride to downtown Yeosu. Next to some abandoned hotels so it feels uneasy walking but it's perfectly safe. Views of the harbour are nice but it's a relatively quiet neighborhood compared to other parts of town.
