Walkable to restaurants, shops and two heated pools, as well as the sister property. Resort Guests receive a significant lift ticket discount compared to the price you pay at Bald and Dollar Mountains. Area is filled with history (chairlift invented here) and the Locals are very down to earth.
Thanks to all the staff at the Sun Valley Lodge for making our stay memorable. We will return soon!
My husband and I spent five days at the Sun Valley Inn. It offered a package deal with the airline flights and our room. The Inn is most comfortable, with a nice bed, lots of towels, a delightful 100 degree warm outdoor pool (with snow drifting down) and a choice of many restaurants and shops accessible by foot or by the bus line. The first day we traveled to Sun Valley from Orlando, FL, lined up our ski rentals and picked up our lift tickets so we would be ready to ski in the morning. Then we hopped the free bus and toured the city of Ketchum, familiarizing ourselves with all the sites, sounds and trappings of the place. It was a good move, since the ski center was not apparent to us right away. We found that the Silver Bus Line did a pick up every 15 minutes to and from the Sun Valley Inn or the Sun Valley Lodge. (These are two very different hotels, so do not confuse them. The lodge is more exquisite.) The Spring skiing was wonderful; 30-50 degrees and lots of sun, as promised. Sun Valley Ski Center is a difficult hill. There were no novices there.
