We arrived late afternoon and the hotel looked very impressive from the outside. We parked directly outside and the porter assisted with our suitcases and delivered them to our room. At check in there is a photograph of the former Prince now King when he stayed in 1991 so we were pleased that Royalty had stopped. The room was large and clean but unfortunately the toilet leaked so we were moved to the Imperial Suite which had a jacuzzi which was fantastic. The staff were really friendly and helpful and the breakfast team could not do enough for us, even cooking extra eggs when we arrived after most the other guests had eaten. It is a great location for visiting the Historical Park in Old Sukothai which is amazing. I imagine when the hotel was first opened it was very majestic, it does need some tender loving care and investment but for the price you cannot complain. There is a nice large swimming pool, free wifi in the reception area and free parking. Would recommend if you want close access to the old town which was nice to go to at night to eat.
This is a huge hotel that is very basic. The beds are average and the bathrooms have a deadly step down. The showers have curtains and it is in general bad. Breakfast is nothing more than bread and jam. Coffee is just a black liquid.
Budget hotel on the outskirts of the town, just the very basic of facilities but very attentive staff. The rooms were clean, choice at breakfast is poor and the lack of Wi-Fi in the rooms is annoying.
Adequate accomodation for a night or 2, basic facilities, clean. Inadequate seating for any relax downtime, apart from the lobby full of mosquitos. No wifi except for in the lobby, so an uncomfortable time trying to sit and work on your devices being eaten alive.
Simple rooms, but with reasonable prices Hotel. Most spectacular on the outside than inside (the bedrooms). It has a pool in the center that gives every room. Staff very attentive and willing to help. I woke up before I was open the restaurant and still offered to give me coffee. simple but clean bedroom I recommend it for those who do not want to spend much money
You can tell this place WAS amazing...when it was built. Now, however, the carpets are worn, sink drain clogs instantly and overflows the trap. Breakfast is same every day, not much variety. Pool is nice though and staff are friendly and helpful.
The room was large with comfortable beds. The TV didn't work. The bathroom was small, the basin leaked onto the floor and there was a very high step into/out of it. Two of our group fell over this one injuring her wrist quite badly. Breakfast was basic.
G Adventures use this hotel as part of their Northern Discovery Tour and it was not a good start to the holiday. The hotel looked as if it was closing. The rooms on the second floor were basic. We arrived late and had to eat in the restaurant which was very poor. The dreadful karoke singing hardly added to the atmosphere. No tables were set for breakfast and the tablecloths looked as if they needed washing. There were staff just hanging around not really knowing what to do. We spent a few hours by the pool but there were no umberella's so had to sit in the shade. It's about a 5 mile drive into Sukhothai where there seems alot more going on. In desperation I walked out of the hotel turned right and walked for about 10 minutes and did find a restaurant on the other side of the road (which is a nightmare to cross) and was served great Thai Tea. Not worth a visit
We were promised tourist class hotels, and this did not meet that standard, I thought. Only good thing is it had a pool, but it was cloudy, felt good in the heat though after a long day of travel. Hotel was almost empty.
We had a reservation in this hotel through a tour company. As soon as we arrived we knew we were in big trouble. I think we were the only people in the entire place. It was old, smelly and very tired. After about five minutes in the room and one look at the bathroom, we called the tour company and complained. Fortunately, they moved us to another hotel quickly. In addition, there was nothing around the hotel and nothing going on at the hotel. Please do yourself a favor and don't bother looking at this place.
