Nice in the summer

Quirky (aka characterful) but pleasant and reasonably comfortable. Friendly staff. Nice rural setting...apart from proximity to a busy road. Shower a bit pokey.

Recommend, but not on a very hot day

Very clean and nice hotel, but no air conditioning. The building is 400 years old, well kept and beautiful, rooms are small but nice with charm.

We enjoyed the stay very much. The building is old, but very well maintained and has a lot of character such as wood paneling in the room and elsewhere. Breakfast was great and the manager was very hospitable. Also, it was within easy driving distance to Zurich.

Disclaimer: I'm American and used to staying in Marriotts when I travel for work. If you're checking in after noon there is no staff working there but they leave your key in a lock box, which is weird but I think I might prefer this to having to check in. The property looks old but is in great shape, the room was great and it was very quaint. I'd stay there again, easily.

Nice hotel with charm

A very nice hotel in a very safe/nice area. The building is very old, the rooms are not. There is a lot of character and charm to the hotel and rooms. We had a nice stay. When we met the staff the next morning they were very friendly. The breakfast was very good. Prior to arriving I had received an email that the staff would not be present after 11AM. This was a cause of concern for me being in a foreign country and not wanting to be stuck without a hotel room. I was going to change and am glad I didn't. They will give you keycode to the lockbox (on the side of the building with the tables by the parking area). The key is used for the door directly between the door and the lock box. Not a problem. Would highly recommend staying here. We arrived in GVA, drove to Bern, stayed here overnight before continuing on with our trip the next day. Would highly recommend it.

Highly recommend Hotel zum Kreuz

The hotel is excellent. Though small, it is a lovely location, very comfortable, clean and well located in the small town of Suhr. The hotel is a very good choice for getting a cheaper stay in a smaller city, away enough from the big city so that you can relax but close enough so you can get there easily by train. I highly recommend it.

Frühstück, vor allem Brot- und Brötchenqualität, waren nicht dem Hotelstandard entsprechend. Empfehlung : Nicht mehr aus der Tiefkühltruhe holen oder dringend den Bäcker wechseln. Übriges Angebot war sehr überschaubar, aber qualitativ in Ordnung.

Insgesamt gut, Toilettensitz lose > trotz Meldung keine Erledigung; Laut Internet: tägliche Zimmerreinigung, stimmt nicht - Sa +So wird nicht gereinigt, der Internetauftritt muß aktualisiert werden; Im DZ nur für eine Person einen Zahnputzbecher; TV Programmliste nicht aktuell; absolut freundliche Bedienung, aber für mehr als vier Gäste, ist die Bedienung beim Frühstück mit einer Person erheblich überfordert, heißt mit zwei Personalen ginge die Kaffeeversorgung schneller und die Auffüllung des Büffets würde regelmäßig überwacht und aufgefüllt. Vielleicht hilft es, wenn wir einige Schwachstellen benennen, zumal der Chef auf der Suche nach diesen war. Wir wünschen dem Hotel alles Gute, wir haben uns dennoch wohlgefühlt.
