One Dog Allowed. $75 for up to One Dog & 50 pounds max. No cats, period (allergies). Because there are guests above you, if your dog barks when you are gone, he/she is not welcome, period. More than one small dog or a larger dog requires pre-approval - please inquire!

Fairytale is the lower level of our 100 year old barn (please read the full description)! It has a fully-stocked kitchen, grill, private hot tub and private fire pit right on your side deck. The petting zoo is 100 yards away, go in the gates and enjoy the bunnies and goats and whatever else is there today, they are a real trip! The stream is state-stocked with trout, the hiking trails are manicured and there is another swing and whimsical land art swing around every corner.


Salvaged barn wood, 100 year old tin tiles, an interior tin roof, we combined the best construction practices of today with some unique and beautiful Pinterest-type finishes and it turned our wonderful - we are so excited to share this cabin! Single level living and an easily accessible cabin year-round.

PLEASE NOTE: This is the downstairs portion of our barn. Upstairs is a 1-room rental, but you are separated by 16" wood beams and insulation, not to mention a bi-locked stairwell. Parking, entrances and decks are located on opposing sides (you share only a roof). But you will absolutely hear noise :( You have your own private hot tub, your own private deck, your own private fire pit, your own private grill, your own A/C unit and your own private entrance (but you will have neighbors above you)!


You have access to all 20+ acres of land, land you will fall in love with and hopefully return to every year. Explore, have fun - it is all yours to enjoy and make those mountain memories! Please note the farm is shared with other cabins. The Bethel community is an old school farming community with beautiful neighbors and state-maintained roads. It reminds guests a lot of Valle Crucis but even more laid back. It is where you would go to unplug and unwind away from the hustle and bustle. If you want restaurants 5 minutes away, we are not the spot! :)

My family and I had a great time. Our pet seemed to have fun as well especially feeding the goats rabbits and the little pig. The little goat was liking our little dog through the fence. Our kids are older but they seemed to enjoy themself as well. The hot tub was especially refreshing in freezing weather and the process of getting in and out was fun. Very cold but refreshing. Having a fire was also convenient, with there little store shed. No smores on our visit but had the fire wood. The little country store/gas station down the road was also convenient and a treat. The sandwiches were great. The host was very helpful with info and and would definitely recommend this place especially with kids.

Amazing Stay

The Fairy Tale Barn and farm was a dream come true for our family. The kids loved waking up and going to see the animals every day, swinging on the swing, jumping on the trampoline, and enjoying the hot tub. Even during a snowstorm! Beautiful Little Paradise

This is a quality property in a semi secluded area in the mountains. Property is not near towns or stores, so you would need to bring your food, etc. with you. Property is amazing for children and even for us 70 year old children. Plenty of activities for all to do. Pickle Ball court, tube riding in creek, water slide, small zip line, kayaks, games, lots of animalls to feed and pet, plenty of walking trails both flat and difficult and so much more to do. Around every corner you will find Connie's artistic side displayed. Several options for lodging on property to choose from. We saw several repeat visitors who had come back a second or third time. A great place to bring kids of all ages and enjoy all the mountains have to offer. Very relaxing and refreshing place to get away from it all. Webb Watson

This is an awesome property

It’s just like all of the other reviewers posted, but we’d like to add a couple more things. Alpacas were very friendly. Goats and bunnies were domesticated and would cuddle with us when we gave them food. Saw chickens, pheasants and a peacock - first time our kids saw one in real life. The trail in the woods is fantastic, every 100 yards you would see something that the owners made, a teepee, benches, rocking chairs, a zip line, a hammock, kids playground toys and much more. The stay was exactly like it was described, hot tub was working and the place was well cleaned. We fished in the stream, saw ducks and donkeys and made a fire. Also bought eggs - $3/dozen on an honor system. Oh, we also used the trampoline, the over the river swing and had a corn hole competition. Beautiful stay, would recommend for families with kids of all ages. You can tell that the owners put a ton of effort into this property. Thank you!!

We had a wonderful stay at the farm. The renovated barn where we stayed was beautiful and had everything we needed. Fully stocked kitchen. The back patio with hot tub overlooking pasture with horses and llamas was so peaceful. The farm animals were so friendly and loved attention and petting. Zip line, water slide, and relaxing on tubes in creek kept my granddaughter busy. Loved every minute!

Fun around every corner

My family enjoyed staying at this property. The owners have done such a beautiful job adding little features which encourage families to be outside and explore. We really had no need to leave the property and explore the surrounding area because there was so much to keep us entertained. The owners were extremely responsive to our questions. We hope to get back there soon. I would recommend if you are planning to book Fairytale that you also book the unit on the top floor of the barn and invite friends or family to enjoy this property with you. There was a family who booked the upstairs unit and overlapped part of our stay and the sound of people walking above is easily heard in the lower unit. Fortunately, the guests in the upper unit weren't up too late and it wasn't a nuisance.

We loved our stay!! Connie and Enrique have done such a wonderful job! All sorts of creative and whimsical additions to the property. Our 4 year old loved all the animals especially! There was a small water/plumbing leak causing a bad smell in one of the rooms (which was going to be used by our toddler), so that made it pretty much unusable during our stay but Connie responded promptly and I'm sure they will have it fixed up very soon. Other than that issue, it was absolutely amazing and charming accomodations and scenery!! 😊

Magical Family Vacay!

Our family had THE BEST time! I have a 4, 3 and 5 month old. The 4 and 3 year old are full throttle from the time they wake up until they crash usually at 10pm or later. This is the perfect place to get out all that energy! They went to bed around 8 every night and I’ve never seen my 4 year old sit so still as he did in the petting zoo with the bunnies lol! I cannot recommend it enough. The accommodations, all the outdoor activities, etc.. Highly recommend bringing your family. My husband and I enjoyed it so much we will be coming back just us for our anniversary. It’s so peaceful and relaxing! Pro tip: bring produce to feed the animals in the petting zoo. The animals are so friendly and docile even with rambunctious kids like ours.

Amazing property & vacation

We had an amazing time. My kids thoroughly enjoyed the house and the entire property. We enjoyed the swings, trampoline, slide, zip line, trail, and most of all, the petting zoo. The bunnies let us hold them and the goats were so friendly. It was really an incredible place and the inside was so nicely decorated and homey. My ONLY complaint is if you’re a light sleeper, which we are, the noise from the people above is almost unbearable. At one point I thought one of my kids was knocking on the door in the middle of the night, but it was the guests above us walking and/or dropping things. Our sleep was interrupted every night and each morning, which definitely was the hardest part and not really the fault of the property owners… just not much to block the sound from those above. Had there been no one above us, it would have been a ten star trip. Highly recommend this property.

Amazing hidden getaway, can't wait to return!

The property is great for families of all ages! My kids love the animals and the many options for play hidden all over the property. We appreciated the hot tubs, fire pits, and plenty of spaces to relax. It was about 25 minutes from Boone where you can shop/eat/explore. We definitely want to come back!

Spectacular way to disconnect

This property is amazing. It isn't just about where you are staying. It is really about the land you are staying on. We stayed for 1 night and there is an amazing petting zoo and it is a well manicured property with a hill to lay on and soak I'm the rays of the sun. We can't recommend this property enough if you have little ones. I recommend this being a staycation as there is just so much to do over the course of multiple days. The owner seems to continually develop this party and add little nuances to make it even better.

The Barn House/Fairytale House was just as exciting and lovely as the host portrays it on this site! Our children absolutely LOVED all of the animals, giant water slide, creek, ponds, swings, hot tub, fire pit, sand area, and garden….so did my husband and I!!! It was an amazing trip for our family that we will never forget. You could probably explore this amazing property a few times over and find something new to enjoy each and every time!
