Europe Hotel Restaurant2.0 out of 5.0

I have stayed in many European hotels so I want to be clear that I did not have the same expectations as what one would expect traveling in the U.S. Having said that I want to say my husband ( who is French ) and i we’re both very disappointed with this hotel. As soon as we checked in to our room the smell of cigarette smoke was overwhelming. We immediately went downstairs and asked to change rooms and even though there were several available we were informed we would have to pay a $15 service charge ( irritating). Once we got settle in we headed out for dinner and asked the front desk for recommendations for local restaurants with food specific to the region. She recommended us a restaurant in a village not far from the hotel. When we got there the restaurant was permanently closed. Obviously that is not her fault but one would think that working at the front desk of a hotel, one would be able to at least make reliable recommendations for food. As for our room, it was next to a noisy roadway. We also had some really loud guests in the room next to us that were partying until 3 am and the hotel receptionist would do nothing about it when we complained. The room was basic ( which is fine). If you are going as a couple don’t bother assuming you’ll be sleeping together. The bed is made up of two singles pushed together. Also the shower doesn’t really drain so unless you like standing in 3 inches of backed up water this place is finally not for you.
I don't where to start with this place. Firstly there was building going on which was incredibly noisy. But add to that this tired shabby little hotel had the worst customer service I have ever seen experienced. Everybody was an utter jobsworth and downright rude. To top it all off, my friend sat on some crappy flowers. And none of us though anything about it. The damage was pitiful and hardly noticeable. But the hotel complained to our whole group then charged €50 for the "damage". We were all in shock. It's surreal. Flowers grow. That's what they do. You have paid £10 down B&Q for really nice flowers. The place is an utter disgrace. Some photos attached of Thai dreadful little hole.
Clean hotel at a very reasonable price compared to the more daring ones for Strasbourg, which is only a short drive away. The room wasn't very big, specially having a third bed in, but was a comfortable stay for two nights. The balcony had seen better days as the floor had bits of moss growing on. Our room overlooked the swimming pool and the restaurant and we thought it might be noisy but, maybe, the lack of fun in the pool and customers at the restaurant was down to the rainy weather. Haven't used the restaurant and not had much to do with the staff, in fact, we only used the back door (after checking in) for loading and unloading the car.
This is an Outdated hotel, but I must say that restaurant chef's and crews are very polite and accommodated. They helped me a lot with all my requests and prepared us a special menu when we arrived. It is a good hotel, (value for money) though it needs a lot of improvements * renovations. Foods are OK as per the europe standards. I stayed there for 4 Nights and all went well.
We're just traveling back from a croatian coach holiday and we stayed at this at best 1 star hotel in Haganeu near Strasbourg, if I could give it no stars I would as the only thing it deserves a 1 for is that at least we weren't sleeping on the streets. It is so out dated it beggars belief, doesn't look like it's been touched in 30 years, the decor was dated, furniture dated, cleanliness not existent. I ordered 2 coffees, which were tiny and cost me €7 , in case people think, can't really be that bad I've included photos from our room. I would not recommend this poor excuse of a hotel to anyone. Ever.... oh, before I forget. No British TV channels, no tea making facilities in room, no cooked breakfast in morning, no bacon, no sausage, no cereals. Just bad beyond belief...
This hotel is a good hotel It would be a wonderful hotel if half of the room would be finish to be renovate. If you are lucky, you will get a new room, if not, it will be an old room, not bad but old one. Also, it was sad for the price that we don't get access at the indoor pool and sauna...because it's in renovation. So, right now, i would say the hotel doesn't deserve the price but as soon as the full hotel will be over to be renovate, it will be an awesome one
Arrived on a sunday to a hotel with a couple of skeleton staff to check you in but thats all. No restaurant or bar service. We had to leave the hotel to find another place to eat The showers in the rooms had no soap or shower gel and the shower cubicles were filthly in scum and mould. Usually breakfast in french hotels is a simple but good quality affair becaise most french people demand good quality coffee with fresh bread/croissant and preserves. They couldnt even get this right.
Stayed here for one night on way to Italy and then one night on the way back home rooms were not very big but modern and comfortable apart from the double bed that kept drifting apart as two singles put together, air conditioning very good, tv could be better its nice modern slim line on the wall type but no matter how we tried we could not adjust programmes to be in English, not one programme set in English on there, never mind maybe next time, Would I stay there again, yes of course, we had good nights sleep and a fair breakfast the next morning.
We used this hotel a few years back and was pleased to return to it again. It is situated out-of-town, but near to residential properties. Our room was a little small but found it to be clean and comfortable. The air conditioning in our room was perfect. The were staff helpful and friendly. The Continental style Breakfast was very good. We didn't try the evening meal due to other commitments, but heard that it to was good, As this was really an over-night stop on a coach tour, it is not possible to say more. But I would recommend it to other travellers
Stayed here for 2 nights in April to attend a family birthday which was also held at the hotel. Room was perfect for what we needed, space for a travel cot for our 6 month old, bed was comfy and bathroom spacious. Breakfast was lovely and provided everything we needed. The party at the hotel on the Saturday night was excellent, the food was delicious, and the service was perfect. Couldn't fault the staff at all.
