Restaurant service till 10.00pm is advertised, but it had closed early when we entered at 8.45pm after a long journey! No apologies or excuses, just that it was closed! There were plenty of salads on view but were apparently not for sale! Having arrived on a coach going elsewhere was not an option, so we bought an expensive drink from the bar, watched the salads cleared away and went to bed hungry! That said, breakfast was of the usual standard. Rooms are motel style, simple and just OK for a place to rest your head for the night.
We stayed here on route back to England with harry shaw - we had a long 12 trip to the hotel arriving at 8-35 pm ready for some much needed food -the restaurant was advertised as open 7-10 pm but we were told the chef had gone home and there was no food - the staff then proceeded to bring out a tray of keys into the dark night and it was farcical as they were allocated with nobody able to read the list in the dark . Why did they not hand keys out in reception ? Truly horrific management - fortunately we had a brilliant driver who ordered a load of pizzas to be delivered for us to at least get something to eat .
Room was fine. Bed was good. The bathroom was grubby and poorly kept. Shower fitting was missing. The bathrooms often let this chain of budget hotels down and, frankly, 80 eur a night plus 9 eur breakfast is excessive these days !! how do you get away with these silly prices ?? By comparison with other French budget hotel chains it is the most expensive for little benefit other than small electric kettle
Stayed here on route to Austria with Harry Shaw. Comfortable beds although the double bed duvet was not long enough. Breakfast o.k. as far as continental breakfasts go but no boiled eggs. Bath room and shower good enough although nothing special.
The accommodation is best described as basic. The rooms (available over three floors - upper floors accessed by external wooden stairs) are small, but all you need is there, including a hairdryer, tea/coffee making facility and a good air conditioning unit. Usually a shower over a bath. The breakfast room with some outside seating is clean and the food counter well stocked and regularly replenished. Great for overnight clientele.
We had interconnecting rooms which was a bonus for a family of four. The continental breakfast was very good. Nice local wine. The rooms were clean, nice big bathroom, fresh towels, everything you need to freshen up and get a good nights sleep. Rooms have a kettle and a paper cup to have a tea or coffee. The staff were friendly and had our keys ready on arrival. Our son got given a kinder egg as it was Easter weekend which was a lovely gesture.
Hi travellers!! I'm gonna write a short review. Good location, parking's big enough, nice n' efficent staff. The bedrooms are good size. If you're gonna stay for more than a night, the flat screen on the wall's nice. The mirror in the bathroom is huge and there's enough space. Now the "bad" points: - I would add a fridge to make the room a bit better however, that place should be more than enough to workers or traveller who just want to have a "break"! ;) Before I forget to talk about the food. So the breakfast is nice but there is a bakery down the road to the city center n' you should try the banana chocolate bread cause you won't be disappointed! ;) Regarding to the dinner, I had only once. I ordered salmon. As I got two steaks with two different cooks I decided to eat somewhere else... Also I stayed six nights the first time I went to and just a night the second time (was yesterday). I tried only one other hotel and I think that in that price range, Campanile Haguenau should be one of the best!!! Enjoy.
Have stayed in this overnight stop hotel several times now on coach trips with Harry Shaw. Clean rooms and spotless linen, excellent shower and kettle for making tea and coffee. Hotel bar very reasonably priced. Sandrine is lovely and always helps me with the WiFi so if you have difficulty ask one of the staff they are very helpful. The continental breakfast is very good and better than some more expensive overnight stops.
I'm guessing this hotel has not had the upgrade yet as it is very basic and tired. Having said that it served it's purpose as an overnight stop. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean. The shower worked and there was hot water. Tea making facilities are always a plus even if it is only a cardboard cup! The meal in the restaurant was good after a long day driving and breakfast was fine. Be careful when coming off the motorway to get to the hotel the initial manoeuvre is tricky but otherwise easy to find. Would use again when passing through on long journey.
We stopped here on the way to Italy, on the way there and back. Nice, clean, basic room with a good shower and, very importantly, tea and coffee facilities ... unusual from what I can gather. Enjoyed breakfast - continental with plenty of choice and lovely pain au chocolat. We only figured out how to work the shutter the next morning, having slept with it half way down (or up, depending) - it's worked by a switch on the wall near the bed (we were very tired when we arrived). Free Wi-Fi apparently, although we couldn't sort it and were too tired to go to reception, who I am sure would have helped.
