We have been visiting Stowe, Vt for about 20 years now. Mostly on Antique Car weekend in August but also in the Fall and Spring. Over the years we've stayed in many different motels and B&B's, but never the Snowflake. What a great find and now our new favorite. Staff were very accommodating, The room was clean, and well equipped. The location was great. There was even a wedding booked for the weekend we stayed. My only complaint is that twice during our stay I went to the desk and found it unmanned. I didn't have to wait long but it is a pet peeve of mine. The Snowflake is a great place to stay and we will return.
We stayed here as part of the lacrosse tourney and just needed a place to crash for two of us to crash two nites. it's really beautiful and great grounds, But yikes it was overkill and we just weren't able to utilize the amenities, and the front desk people are kinda snooty. But you can walk to the Alchemist!
We stayed in a house villa along the gold course and it is absolutely gorgeous. The staff have been great and have recommended some awesome restaurants such as Harrington's, Doc Ponds, and others. The whole resort is really well kept and I hope to come back.
I brought my mom here for her 89th birthday because she loves hot air balloons. First I must give kudos to the staff. Everyone from the front desk to the bellman to the restaurant staff were friendly and helpful. The festival itself was wonderful. We managed to see the launch on Saturday evening and then the quieter one on Sunday morning. Our room was spacious and very comfortable and very quiet. The hotel itself is conveniently located. We would definitely go back.
Booked a room through Expedia and it was not honored when we arrived at hotel. The staff at the desk could not have been ruder or less helpful. Would not provide room even though rooms were still showing as available on their own website. Not the reception we needed after a long drive. Would definitely recommend finding another property.
The hotel is very nicely situated (next to a bike lane and a golf); had a quite room, with coffee machine in the room ... very comfortable seats in the meeting room (thank you!) - and delicious cookies every afternoon in the lobby :-)
Attended a conference here and the hotel was quaint. Good service with comfortable rooms in a nice location. All meals were here with good food. The gym is adequate and could use a thorough rehab and at least a complete cleaning. Rooms were well furnished, quiet and spacious. Fireplaces in the rooms I saw and stayed in. Nice place in a ski town.
I went to Stowe to visit nearby family and had a wonderful visit . The staff was exceptional and welcoming ! My 3 grand daughters enjoyed the pools indoor and outdoor and hot tub as well as the playground and badminton and volley ball nets. We enjoyed s'mores outside in a peaceful mountain setting with games and fun ! We hiked a small mountain and ended our short vacation with a memorable Ben and Gerry's ice cream ! Yummy!
Very impressive, spectacular, fun, well-organized annual event. Highly recommended! Fun for all ages. While it's a weekend-long event, the real action starts by getting there on Saturday at 4 p.m. for a good parking spot with a short walk to the event. It was $10 to get in this year. A real bargain. There were about 25 magnificent balloon ascensions beginning at 7 p.m. Until then, enjoy seeing families play together, music and food. The organizers did a fabulous job of discouraging alcoholic behavior while at the same time allowing adults to enjoy a beverage and a live band in a good location that did not allow alcohol to leave that location. Classy job. This is a must-see-once-in-your-life event if you are planning a summer visit to Stowe.
Perhaps 10 years ago this was a shining resort that lives up to the AAA 4 diamond status. But now, it looks tired and so does the staff. The carpets are worn and are dirty, the bathroom in our room still had bar soap residue on the soap dish and the room furniture was worn and dated. THIS was the newly renovated room. The Bistro, where breakfast is served, (and was once the resort's fine dining option) was average at best. The wine bottles that adorn one wall of the bistro are dusty, and there was a very large ant wandering along the buffet counter. This resort could be stellar - its location is fantastic and the amenities could be world class.
