My daughter and I took advantage of the April deal of buy one service get one half off. I called and asked specifically what the cost would be with the 18% gratuity added and what was included. We were charged an additional $70 for our lunch! We were told by phone (and on the description lunch was included in a the package deals). It was very confusing. However, the massage was very good. The cafe needs to be managed better. The wait person had to leave the cafe several times to go to another part of the Spa to get lunches and bring them back resulting in cold chicken and salmon.
I love the Stowe Recreation Path. We could spend hours on the path because it is easily accessible from the resort. You can rent bikes at reasonable rates. It's also close to some of the best restaurants in the area.
Very disappointed in my massage especially how pricey it was, Had a better massage from the waterfall feature. Way too over priced for the treatment I received. The steam room also not very relaxing as every 5 minutes it makes you jump with the steam gushing out.
It seems like a nice place on the surface, but take a closer look and you’ll see the nasty details. There was a great deal of mold on the fabric shower curtain. It was on the outside, but it made me concerned that things aren’t as clean as they appear at this hotel.
It's a shame that such a beautiful place cannot admit when they could be wrong and offer a simple apology. Instead they offer a credit? A credit cannot fix an attack on my character, but an apology would go a long way. I was told I should have worked things out ahead of time if I had a problem with the contract, but since I had spoken with someone over the phone about it I thought I was all set. As I told the owner, I wouldn't have gone if I didn't think things were worked out. This experience was nothing but an attack on my integrity. I told them to keep their credit, I don't want their charity, I'd prefer them to humble themselves a little, and give me a little credit as to the type of person I am. One more thing, if you think things are worked out with your statement when you leave, don't believe the ledger you hold in you hold in your hand. They asked me which credit card to charge the balance on to which I replied, "Neither, a check would be coming in the mail." When they asked if I had the address, I pointed to it on the printout that said the balance due. They chose a random card on file, which happened to be a friend of a friend's, and they were quite angry. They owner's response was that he would credit the card when the check was received. Far as I'm concerned, either myself or the cardholder should have been notified before that transaction took place, not just done behind our backs after we left. Now whose character do we have to question? And to think, I sent them a package of thank you cards, and small tokens of appreciation, and I didn't even get a thank you- just more harassment, after I told them several times the balance would be paid in a week?? Come on now. (They even removed access to their survey, I suppose they only want good reviews)
I stayed in a condo with my husband and two kids. It was beautiful, clean and comfortable. My kids LOVED having their own rooms, lots of space to play and their own bathrooms. It was convenient having the kitchen as well. Often kitchens are gross at inns but this was so lovely. My kids also loved having the pond with the fish right outside our door. My husband and I loved the location as well.
The Stoweflake inn is very old world nice, tea , coffee and cookies every afternoon at 3:30 PM. The in house breakfast is supper with custom made eggs, waffles or pancakes, and of course Green mountain coffee. Check out Felix Leiter USMC on Amazon and look for Felix Leiter CIA coming soon.
My wife and I visited Stowe for 3 nights. Florida people in the snow in Vermont. Stoweflake was incredible. We got a room with a fireplace, very roomy. The lobby was nice, with great cookies and coffee every afternoon. Many common areas with fireplaces. One of my favorite things is the Stoweflake is one of the stops for the area shuttle. Perfect for me, since I did not want to drive in the snow. It came every 15-20 minutes during the weekend. It ran from the downtown area all the way up to the ski resort. We did a spa day, which was very nice. The front desk was very helpful. We ate at the Charlie B pub the first night, which was good. There is a lot of restaurants in walking distances. An incredible wine and cheese shop with tastings across the street. Next time in Stowe, I will definitely stay at the Stoweflake Spa and Inn again.
We love Vermont and this was our 2nd time staying at Stoweflake. We rented a townhouse because we brought my sons friend (both 15) so we needed the space. Rooms were spacious and having 2 bathrooms was a plus. A little outdated but was still warm and cozy. Spa is beautiful. I would recommend this place. Picture of boys sleeping in the living room.
The townhouse was nice but the decor was very dated. House the resort never offered housekeeping but I believe it was available daily. Pet policy is odd too- The hotel is very dated as well.. everything needs to be updated. Staff wasnt that accommodating when i reached out
