I was disappointed in this place. I thought it was overpriced and the service was poor. Spa staff was rude and uninterested so I didn't even book a service. Front desk was unhelpful and wouldn't honor a AAA discount even though I'm a member. Location is great and the restaurants and stores nearby are charming.
We travelled as a family of 5 adults and 3 children and selected the two bedrooms town house plus a regular "luxury" room in the main building, because of the composition of the family age groups. When making the booking we were NOT advised that the Town House was detached from the main building and, therefore required a car to reach it! If you attempted to walk to the town house, it would be a very wet experience with the many pot holes in the road and poor illumination.Overall the hotel was OK, but far from "luxury" and indeed a general re-furbishment would be very much in order.
My friends and I just spent the day at the Spa. First of all, everyone who worked here, from the people who checked you in, to the masseuse, to the waitstaff in the lunch room were wonderful. My 80 minute aromatherapy massage was absolute heaven, and I have never felt so relaxed! The spa was immaculate, and there were many conveniences (showers with soap and shampoo, wonderful robes, plenty of towels, hair dryers, etc.) So, why didn't I give it a 5? Well, first of all, our lunch was cold. We put down we wanted to eat between 12:30 and 1, and at 1:10 I asked why they hadn't come to get us yet. We were told they would come as soon as our lunches were ready, and literally two minutes later they came to get us. The food was cold, so obviously we were forgotten. There were also many things not working, many of the locks on the lockers, one of the steam rooms, two outlets in the locker area. Again, for the use of the jacuzzi and mineral bath all could be forgiven, but for the exorbitant price, it was difficult to overlook. This was my second time here, but the first time was a free experience won at raffle. Not sure if I would return again for the price. But, it was worth it for the relaxation today. Hopefully they will get some of these issues fixed.
After recent storms left us and many others in Stowe with no electricity, the Stoweflake opened their doors to those of us without power to stay at a greatly reduced rate. What a blessing it was to be able to stay in a luxury hotel - room with a fireplace, bonus - enjoy all the amenities and be treated as the best of guests. Overall we stayed for three nights and thoroughly enjoyed Charlie B's, the relaxing lobby, the pool, hot tub, sauna & steam bath and our comfy, well-appointed guest room. I would recommend the Stoweflake to anyone visiting Stowe. You should stay for more than one night so you get the best out of your stay at the Stoweflake. The Baraw family really does it right!
We enjoyed our stay at the Stowflake, but I am motivated to write this review because the assistance from their concierge, Susi, was by far the BEST we have ever had ANYWHERE!!!! Susi was so gracious and accommodating, and she really spent a lot of time helping us plan our days in the Stowe area. She made our stay so much more enjoyable! In addition, the staff as a whole was very pleasant, and the Stowflake has a very welcoming, friendly atmosphere.
stayed recently, for 2 nights to do some hiking an leaf peeping. rooms were nice. just what we expected. front desk was great, and helpful when it came to dinner suggestions as well as day trip ideas. actually caught the last farmer's market of the season, right across the street. will no doubt be back in the future.
Stayed at the hotel for two nights. Kate at the Front Desk was so hospitable and kind. Restaurant staff very friendly and staff that we ran into always said hello. Room was clean and comfortable. Location is close enough to the hub-bib of Stowe however far enough away that you can enjoy the quiet.
Stayed for 3 nights with my sister as part of a New England tour. The setting of the hotel was perfect for us. We walked the nearby trails and enjoyed the pretty town of Stowe nearby. We were able to use the facilities on site, (pools etc). The room was very clean and comfortable, and staff very welcoming. Coffee and cookies provided mid-afternoon. Unfortunately the restaurant couldn't accommodate us on our first night as it was too busy. A good place to stay with lovely people looking after us.
Highly recommend a stay at Stoweflake. Was recently there for a 2 night stay for a conference. They did a great job at reception desk as well as food/buffets during the conference. Staff were helpful and polite. Rooms are older but well cared for, and housekeeping did a great job. I would definitely return there.
Great location in Stowe. We were able to take advantage of the trail and we walked to idlytyme for dinner which was delicious. There aren't full curtains in the room which was a downside! We were on the first floor overlooking parking lot and people could see right into our room
