Stoweflake Mountain Resort & Spa

Stoweflake is a nice resort. Very dated appearance. This was not important to my husband and I so we were fine with it... The resort looked and smelled like 'Grandma's house." The room itself was spacious, clean and had all that we needed. Made some weird noises, the toilet seemed to be a pump. So the noises were weird, but we ignored it. We enjoyed the fitness center and pool. Did not attend the spa, but that seemed to be a nice feature (pricey). Worst complaint is Charlie B's the restaurant attached- don't waste your time there, food is not good and service is poor. Stoweflake is in a good location, a few min from various hiking/waterfall spots. Most affordable price we could find compared to other resorts. Perfect for a family/couple who is staying for a few days and will be busy enjoying Stowe. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

The hotel itself was average - nothing overly special and my room smelled musty, like it hadn't been used in quite some time. This was balanced by a very comfortable bed with excellent pillows and friendly staff. Loved the spa services and cannot recommend Ayurvedic treatments with Joanie highly enough. She is a gifted healer - and her technique was exceptional. My visit to the spa was the gem of my stay.

Conveniently located on the main road through Stowe, Stoweflake is comfortable and accommodating but a couple of steps above basic and undistinguished. Our room was perfectly fine but nothing to write home about. The outdoor pool is ok, but the outdoor hottub has no obvious way to turn on the jets; they provide pool towels, but no information in the guest rooms that they do. The bar is in a separate building across the driveway -- the barman was very nice, accommodating, talkative if you want but not if you don't. All of this said, you're not in Stowe for the hotel.

Really classy hotel with plenty intimate public areas to relax. Great amenities with heated indoor and outdoor pool. Room had plenty of every thing we needed and a decent sized bathroom. Food pretty decent and fairly priced. Staff friendly but not always clued up on basics such as the cost of breakfast. Cleanliness of room good but gents locker in spa needed a good clean and was untidy with used towels heaped up. Handy location for downtown Stowe. Would return.

Stayed here for 3 days at a professional meeting. The rooms are wonderful - spacious, with fridges and Keurig coffee makers, and gas fireplaces. Very clean, very comfortable beds and bedding. Nice spa and health club. It was too early for the outdoor pool but its very pretty. The village location is nice, right on the recreation trail You can walk or bike into the village of Stowe. The food was good for conference fare - breakfast was buffet eggs, bacon, sausage etc. The smoked salmon on Sunday was special, the beet salad was excellent, so were the other salads.

I have a great experience at the resort and will definitely return. The room was clean, and comfortable. The fireplace was great. Charlie's B was a great place to relax and meet other people. The staff was great Without hesitation, the staff help me resolve several issues. The property is in a great location, close to everything in Stowe.

Beautiful setting. Friendly and very accommodating staff. Property well maintained. Comfortable and updated rooms with gas fireplaces. Excellent catered meals for the conference. Very good food at onsite restaurant.

This was my first trip to Stowe, VT - actually to Vermont. I was here on business attending a conference on site. From the moment I arrived until the moment I left, the Stoweflake staff took care of it all. Here's a few examples: First, I arrived late the first night - after the kitchen was closed - and Diana at the front desk called the kitchen anyway to see if they could make me a dinner plate. The kitchen said yes and made me a beautiful, tasty salad. Second, since their spa is highly acclaimed, I booked two services - one with Danielle and another with Wendy. Both of these ladies were fantastic, not only with the service they provided, but they were both very engaging and a lot of fun. Third, at the conference event, the breakfast Stoweflake made for attendees was exceptionally good. The food was served buffet style, but it didn't look or taste "buffet." It was much better. The room was very nice and comfortable (see photos). It even had a fireplace. I really liked the bathroom amenities. They were a spa brand (can't remember the name), but they smelled really good. I had to laugh: I'm a longtime Keurig fan. I didn't realize that Keurig Green Mountain was headquartered in town. In my Stoweflake room, I had a Keurig machine (no surprise), but I had to laugh when I saw the K-Pods they provided. It was the Vermont Country Blend coffee. But, of course! I didn't stay long enough this trip. There's so much more to Stoweflake that I didn't have time to enjoy. I hope to be back again next year to check out the property more. Thanks to the Stoweflake staff for a great visit!

My husband and I took a 20th anniversary beer tour through Vermont last fall and our primary stopping point was Stowe. It was late October, not much snow yet, and past peak foliage but the grounds of the Stoweflake were still lovely. I wished we had spent more time at the resort to enjoy the beautiful courtyard, the tucked away reading nooks (with fireplaces!!) and our own in-room gas fireplace. We had booked a less jazzy room but the heat was having issues (the repairman was on his way before I had even put the phone down). They tried to fix it but when they realized it was going to be longer than expected they immediately called and upgraded us to a beautiful room with a fireplace. They were incredibly apologetic and helped us move everything. The staff at the front desk really cared about how we were doing and just felt like family. We enjoyed drinks in the bar each night and a snack or two (don't miss the onion soup). And in case we were bored from the multiple tv's or comfortable decor, we could play Jenga! I really loved this little gem of a place. Really close to amazing food, breweries and, I'd imagine, skiing when in season. Would absolutely go again as a couple or a family!

This is the second time we've stayed at the Stoweflake and found the property and room to be above average for the area. We received an excellent deal (50% off room) for a two night stay on an off season weekend as well as a discount to Charlie B's for being repeat guests. We're not "Spa" people and don't need to worry about entertaining little ones so we would classify our experience as above average. Very nice front desk staff as well as attentive restaurant staff. We would and have recommended friends stay here.
