Amazing B&B in the centre of Stornoway

Wonderful b&b in the centre of Stornaway, where we stayed 3 nights. Hosts were amazing and allowed us to amend the stay after a ferry cancellation. Rooms are immaculate, large and well appointed. Really comfy bed, 2 chairs and lovely Harris Tweed firnishings. Full size kettle, with tea, coffee and biscuits. Good shower and lovely hot water. We had full breakfast the first morning. It was huge and we couldn't finish it. We had porridge and toast the next 2 mornings, with a range of fruit, fresh cakes, oatcakes, yoghurt and cereal available. Brigitta welcomed us each morning and was happy to help any way. We stayed in room no. 7, which is actually in a separate building to the breakfast room and reception. The beauty of this was a surprise fully fitted kitchen and lounge area which we had full access to. Very handy to bring back a takeaway on the first evening and be able to eat at a table. Fabulous stay and we will return to explore more of the Outer Hebrides. Only minor issue is that all the bedrooms are upstairs and there are no lifts. I knew this when booking though. Luckily we only one flight of stairs and my husband is happy to carry our stuff. The business own several buildings and our room was in a different property to the main B&B where breakfast is served. Unexpected, but did not cause any problems.

This property has an annex where we stayed. The rooms were cute, comfortable, and quiet. There was a living/dining/kitchen area across the hall that had a nicely stocked pantry area and a full kitchen with cooktop, oven, dishwasher, pots, pans, dishes and cutlery. A terrible storm blew in and we were able to make a complete dinner and stayed in having a ball. Breakfast was included in our rate and it was fresh, high quality, and delicious. All the staff was friendly and helpful. I’d absolutely stay there again and recommend it to anyone going to Stornoway. It’s located very well and only about a 3 minute drive to the ferry terminal.

Very pricey but convenient, great shared living space with large modern kitchen, dining room, living room and laundry. Menu options for breakfast were tasty with additional buffet style table offering yogurt, fruit, juice, loaves, etc. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff.

This was a lovely and clean room right in the downtown part of Stornoway. Walking distance to lively pubs. The staff were exceptionally kind and helpful. Breakfast was delish.
