For the price, room was large and in good condition. Breakfast was worth paying the extra cost. Pool was not in operation while we were there and we did not park in car park because of concerning reviews. We would stay again.

This hotel is in a great location and has lovely staff. It needs some under the skin tlc, every thing on the surface is clean, but the underlying systems (heating, plumbing baths, windows, gym equipment) are in need of an update or servicing. I know thus will be expensive, but if not done soon it will really show.

We booked the Highland Hotel at the last minute due to a change of plans because of Storm Amy. We were very happy with the room and the service we received, it's a lovely old hotel in a great spot for exploring Stirling Castle and the township. Parking was reasonably priced and on-site.

NOT 4 STAR. I give it 3.5 at best. Its most attractive draw is the central location & history. Everything else is overrated. Some parts of the hotel are filthy (streetside lower entrance for one). And, some parts are not handicapped friendly. The bed & bathroom was acceptable. I had a broken remote, hanger, & desks & wall under the mirror had dirt splashes. The bar floor was sticky like it had not been mopped in some time. Furnishings are dated and worn. Kaitlyn in the spa was nice, along with the bar/restaurant & cleaning staff. I would not stay there again unless there was a price drop & attentions to update this property.
