Location of the cabin is perfect and central to so many of the hikes we wanted to do. Everything worked and was a nice, cozy place to spend a few days.

Hair dryer was not provided. I have never been to a rental without a hairdryer before. This is a basic 16 item. Cabin was hard to fine in the dark. Roof is loud, rain and acorns hitting the metal roof which is not insulated to damper the sounds. We had to go buy a hairdryer (which I left) and ear plugs 20 minutes away at Kroger. All dollar generals in the area were out of hairdryers.

The home was clean, the communication with the owner for check in was clear and smooth, the property is in a good location and the decks are wonderful. If you are a light sleeper, two things to be aware of: 1) the main bedroom does not have a door nor is closed off from the living area/kitchen so if one person wants to go to bed early or get up early, it is kinda tough. Had I looked closer at the pictures, maybe I should have figured that out. I had not expected the beds in the loft to have a door but did for the main bedroom. 2) The rental has a metal roof and there is at least one, maybe more, acorn trees that drop acorns on the roof (at least in the fall) which cause a very loud noise and we did not get a good nights sleep due to this and decided to check out early. The owner did try to see if another property was available and offered us a discount if we come again. And also explained that this is a mast year (more acorns dropped than normal) but even if it is less, they still make a loud noise (sounded like my metal water bottle fell off of the counter) whenever one hits the roof which is tough to sleep through.

The cabin was very clean and nice. It had all the essentials covered. It is located up the mountain away from town however there isnt a lot of privacy. The hot tub is on the deck directly across from another cabin. Some kind of curtain would be nice to block the view. There are 3 other cabins very close that the pictures do not show. All in all it was a nice stay.

Stayed for three days for a birthday getway with my fiance and this was the perfect cabin for us! It was a cozy little cabin that was very clean and well maintained. The WiFi worked very well, which was great because my cell service is usually terrible. The welcome guide provided was amazing, it made getting to the cabin a breeze despite it not having an exact address. Communicating with the host was a quick and efficient, any time I had a question they were quick to respond. Close to local activities and attractions. Definitely recommend for a romantic stay!

The Hummingbird
Very clean. Close to activities. Very nice fire pit and jacuzzi. 1 of the chairs by the fire pit fell apart when I went to sit on it. Luckily I didn’t get hurt but I let management know.

Great family weekend
We had a short little weekend getaway and chose to stay at the Hummingbird. When we arrived we found the cabin to be just as described online. It was very clean, cute and cozy for our family of 4. We took full advantage of the hot tub and fire pit and there was just enough room for us all to have a comfortable sleeping space. The smaller size of the cabin was perfect for family interaction. I do wish there was another sitting chair as it was quite cozy for the 4 of us to sit on the couch lol. But adventure called and there wasn’t much sitting anyway. The cabin was a good proximity from all the adventures we chose. Less than 15 min drives to natural bridge, kayaking and ziplines and even shorter drive to Daniel Boone coffee shop which is a must. This was our first trip to red river gorge but won’t be out last. We will most definitely book with this group again!

Mini spring break
Last minute booked a two night stay Sun-Tues at the Hummingbird. Location looked great (and was!) not a far drive to pretty much everywhere we wanted to go - trail heads, Miguel’s, Toad’s bar and grill. The place was great! Clean. Efficient while still comfy. It rained so didn’t get to use the fire pit but hot tub was perfect! Cabins close by but never felt too close. Road getting into the cabin area is very steep and tight/skinny.

Long weekend
We stayed in the hummingbird for a long weekend and enjoyed our stay. The neighborhood is nice and very accessible to all of the hiking trails and shops. Wonderful location! Only complaints were the hot water wasn’t very hot, and the cabin had a few live wasps and cockroaches(2 dead, 1 alive) inside upon entering our cabin. I think it had to do with the timing of our stay, but it was a little unsettling. Overall though we would stay again!
