I would highly recommend this cabin! The cabin itself was very clean and well kept. There were plenty of dishes and cookware for two people. The road leading to the cabin was very steep and had potholes, but my Kia Soul made it up just fine. My phone also had perfect service at the cabin without WiFi. The hot tub was very relaxing!The host staff were very friendly and quick to respond anytime I had a question. It was a great experience, and we’ll definitely be coming back!

Exceptionally welcoming! They were very communicative and accommodating. We stayed during a winter snow storm and they were absolutely wonderful about (1) moving us to a more accessible location after my first attempt to book, and (2) about letting us know that the area would be plowed, etc. The cabin itself was absolutely gorgeous, and the hot tub on a cold night felt fabulous. I would absolutely stay here again, 100x over.

This was a very nice stay for a anniversary getaway. The hot tub was nice and hot. The cabin was small and just as described. No issues at all. The only small problem was the loud bangs randomly. The one loud bang we heard in middle of the night, it sounded like someone was pounding on our window and we flew out of bed. I believe it was squirrels jumping on the roof or tree branches falling. My husband and I found it comical after a while because of how loud and random it was.

The cabin was very nice. The location wonderful. The road getting there was terrible. Needs to be better than a tractor path! Especially for motorcycles. The second night we had neighbors below us. They were loud ! Screaming and hollering!

Anniversary at High Rock

Let's start off with the drive UP to the cabin...whoa! But amazing!!! A one lane road for both coming and going (thank goodness we didn't encounter an oncoming because there are NO pull off spots) but this makes it even more exciting. HIGH ROCK is up there and you really do have to pay attention to the signs. Parking is tight and only for 1, and the stairs are no joke but good exercise. Once on the deck, it's nothing short of beautiful both outdoors and in. This cabin is great for a short term stay in a home like environment. The windows from top to bottom give off some spectacular views, (really wish the windows in the back of the cabin were larger to get more of that mountain view but not complaining) and the sounds are all nature. We absolutely loved our stay with a couple of exceptions. The only bed is awful. If you or your partner are movers the other will also become one because the bed shifts with EVERY MOVEMENT and it is not at all comfortable. It also seems smaller than a Queen size mattress. The tiles in both the bathroom and kitchen are breaking and really should be replaced because tile cuts are worse than razor blades and any damage could cause major issues for someone (we wore socks or house shoes). The bathroom floor and bottom of the shower door look like there might be some mold, we didn't plan on staying long enough for it to become an issue, but it really should get looked at and cleaned up. All in all, we loved HIGH ROCK!!!

Unkempt and noisy

From a distance the cabin looked cute. There waa barely enough room for husband's truck in the driveway though. When i first walked in, just glancing around it wasn't bad, but then a couple more steps and i heard cracking under my feet. The tile floors in the kitchen and bathroom are broken and in need of repair. There were light bulbs out also, which I could deal with. After being there for a few minutes, there was a loud pop on the roof. It sounded like a gunshot. My husband said it was walnuts falling from the trees. This went on both nights we were there and we averaged about 3 hours of sleep. The windows were dirty. There were cobwebs everywhere and the couch. Don't even get me started. Definitely will not be back to this cabin again.

Little disappointed

Kitchen and bathroom tile broken, hot tub water not clean had smell to it only few of jets worked. Should probably set some mouse traps. Multiple lights didn’t work including fridge. Couch was all stained up. I like that it was secluded no one bothered us. Just wasn’t what I was expecting thought that it would of been up kept a little better.

High Rock Cabin

Beautiful property, however the gutters were overflowing with leaves and it rained while we were there. They definitely need attention soon. The floors were uneven and there is some broken tile in the kitchen and bathroom. There were cobwebs and dust on the fixtures and several light bulbs inside and out that were not working. I would also suggest a good cleaning of the windows. Hot tub had a funny smell to it, not like chlorine. A mixing bowl or two would be good to have as well. It was very quiet and secluded and just what we needed to escape and I would probably stay or recommend this place to others. The fire pit was also enjoyable. I think with a thorough deep cleaning it could be much better!!

Great cabin and stay!

We had such a great getaway at this cabin. Being without Wi-Fi was tough at times but also made our stay more relaxing. Only thing we had a complaint about would be the flooring in the bathroom and kitchen needs replaced.

Perfect Weekend Getaway!

My husband and I are from Lexington and we love visiting the Gorge for the day! We wanted a weekend away and this little cabin was perfect for our staycation! It is nice and cozy and comfortably fits two people. It was the perfect relaxing weekend. We will definitely be back!
