Stayed here for one night with reward points room ok nice to have a window you can open as was a bit warm bet it will be hot in summer. Shower good, would have liked a fridge but not expected in budget hotel. Breakfast was fine think all holiday inn express have all had a makeover.
Stayed here last minute on the 23/12/2017. This place was amazing! The bed was massive, the shower was great and the room was clean. Max on reception was a great guy, he was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. The breakfast was nice with good variety.
I'd give this one 3.5 if I could. Better than average but not quite very good! Friendly helpful staff. Clean room not TOO noisy despite the nearby main roads and the boy racers out for a late night spin! Breakfast; pretty good and quite tasty - sausages could have had a bit under under the grill! So why the "3.5 if is could" The heating in my room was not working! I was just about warm enough. Perhaps I should have complained and asked for another room. and Niggly irritation this one - someone has messed up the sound system in the breakfast/dining room - good grief what a horrible racket.
I stayed here regularly in 2009 with work so it was interesting to return. Still a modern hotel, clean & tidy. Decent night sleep despite nearby main roads. Good parking, good wifi, good staff. Fast food or sit down meals within same retail park (and a gym if you like that).
A great little hotel with fair sized rooms and comes with a double bed sofa and a desk and chair to work from. Storage is ok and with its own iron and board also has a hairdryer in the room. Only downside is only 2 plugs. Breakfast is buffet style but only does 3 pizzas for evening meals so another downside.
First visit to any Holiday Inn and if Lichfield typical it is ideal for a stayover. Plenty of parking, staff welcoming and helpful. Everywhere was clean and organised, as were rooms, good showers and plenty of towels. Downside to our bedroom was lack of heating in the morning so chilly start but mentioned it to reception staff on leaving and was assured would be remedied for next occupant. When we returned late in the evening you could help yourself to a good choice of tea and coffee in the lounge area which was welcome. Breakfast was fine and seating not a problem. On site was a Costa and Frankie and Bennys restaurant which was very handy. We booked back in Sept 17 on an Advanced Saver Rate but when checking prices rooms were now £40 less, when I emailed the hotel to ask why they did explain it was to do with anticipated demand but happily refunded the difference.
Professional, friendly and helpful staff welcomed us for our short stay whilst competing at Crufts at the NEC. Our dog was even provided with a special welcome goody bag - nice touch (dogs pay £15 pet charge). Really good location for the NEC - just 20 minutes away but hundreds of pounds cheaper than the more closer hotels! Really good breakfast with delicious fresh croissants and hot options. McDonald’s and Frankie & Benny’s right outside for a bite to eat in the evening. Keep up the great work - we will definitely be returning!
We were given a friendly welcome by the reception staff. We were impressed by the cleanliness and ambience of the whole place. Our room was warm and very comfortable and equipped with extras. The included breakfast had a good variety to choose from and included special dietary requirements.
First time stay in a Holiday Inn and I would happily stay in another. Very impressed with the shower and how if need the door was able to close off the toilet. Both the toilet/shower area had enough space (being a larger lady). There was nice white towels and big enough to fit around my body but the could have been softer. There was a notice up to say that if you needed anything because you had forgotten something then to ask reception as they could help. I liked that they had two pillows, soft and hard, the bed was comfortably also. Different lights/lamps. Thermostat for temp, which at times it was warm even though it was turned off. The room had an area for hanging clothes (hangers included) with a ironing board and an iron. Tea/coffee with milk/sugar and a kettle. I also like that there was a desk and a chair to use. Breakfast was lovely and fresh, hot and cold, we even took some away with a coffee. All staff had been helpful and polite. The only moan to have was the walls are very thin, so you can hear everything and if it's when people returning from a night out then it can be very loud. It is next to a main road but to be honest with the tv on we didn't hear the cars it was only when the window was open and even then the window had a lock on it so it would only open about 20cm, even though we had been on the ground level. I would happily stay here again. Thank you. The hotel was sat next to a Costa (drive through), Frankie and Benny's, I think it was a David Lloyd gym and a McDonald's.
You always know what your getting at a Holiday Inn Express and this is no exception. Decent sized clean rooms, comfy beds, free tea and coffee, plenty of TV channels, nice bathroom and a free breakfast. The bonus is that the breakfast has been upgraded and now include proper bacon.
