Hotel is close to downtown. The around area is so, so (this is a lower income part of town). There is not much, besides a lot of jewelry stores in center of Charlotte Amalie.
The area was quaint which was nice. Liked the two ladies/servers at breakfast. The property needs to be upgraded.
Picked it for location -close to downtown. Our room didn’t have a bathroom door. Never switched or complained we wanted a cheap room to overnight in
Location
Room was bare necessities; not as pictured in the website. Shower curtain was dirty. Room was not maintained with necessities such as toilet paper; only had a few squares on the roll and no extra in the room. Wall around air conditioner needs to be sealed; could see the outside around the air conditioner. Didn't look like the floor had been cleaned as there were dead bugs on the floor. Pool did not look clean. Chairs at the pool left fabric fuzz all over your clothes after sitting on them. Had 2 double beds and had to pay extra for having 3 people in the room. Was informed that you should not leave the premises on foot after dark; not safe to do so. The worst part is schlepping luggage up many stairs to get to your room. On the upside, the peson at the front desk was helpful and very nice.
Breakfast waitress was awful-rude. The food was good. Toilet kept running unless valve was turned off
Best part of this hotel was the complimentary breakfast and sugarcane restaurant on premises was the best meals we had on the island. The walk to shopping district is a stones throw.
Basic and nothing fancy but a good walkable location which saves a lot of money on the overpriced St Thomas taxi racket.
Get room 31, has the best view. :)
My business partner and I reserved two separate rooms from here. After arriving, we were given a single two bedroom unit with an unlockable door between the two and only one entrance. The “ hotel” is in an area that I wouldn’t go in after dark and very cautiously during the daylight hours. The unit we were given was very hot inside with bugs and a broken sofa. There was a small air conditioner, put into a hole in the wall of each bedroom in a manner that allowed you to see daylight around the air conditioner. My mattress had worms underneath it, and the bedsheets had large blood stains. There is parking for only two very small cars. This is literally the only hotel I have refused to stay at in over 25 years of professional travel. It’s wildly misrepresented on the website and for the money you could have something much nicer.
The very nice lady at the reception/ front desk was very helpful and friendly. Our luggage was mishandled by the airline and she recommended a store close by that we could get essentials. Location is within walking distance to stores, restaurants, etc.
Convenient to downtown. Lots of stairs and no elevator. Property could use some maintenance. The staff checking in and at restaurant were great!
No Cleaning of pool, patio and rooms
Near Step 99 and super friendly front desk employee. On site dining provide good choice of dinner. The facility is quite old and need refreshing. Need to carry luggage up stairs
