If you aren't the kind of person that just rolls with the little things this hotel isn't for you but if you are you can't beat the off season price, the beach, the staff, the views. If you taxis ask for Joy. Also you might want to GO out to eat. Photos taken w/ iPhone 5s NO filter used! I'm already planning my next stay.
Nice location right on the beach. However reminds me of a 1970's Motel 6. No hot water- a complaint other guests had as well. If we did not prepay with Orbits, we would not have stayed there. We arrived at 4pm and our room was not ready along with other guests that were waiting as well. Bar overcharged our card which we dis not find out until we got home. Too much trouble to argue the charges- maybe they can use the extra money on upgrades to the property.
This hotel was reasonably priced and close to the airport. Check in is 4pm. We hoped to check in early but no rooms were ready. Ocean views from the room were great. The room was clean and comfortable. The onsite restaurant is ok. The bar was good. Decent place for a 1 night stay after a yacht charter.
Service very slow, no one is rushing to take your order, when you come out to get a beach towel at 9 am, they dont have it ready. It seems like they not even expecting customers to ask for a towel. One restaurant, one bar, very nice beach. During the ship arrivals a lot of people get off the boat and come to this beach so it gets busy
very nice beach, relaxing. I would stay here again.
There's only 3 things to do here... go to the beach, go to the pool, or go to the restaurant/bar. There aren't really any amenities and there fitness area consists of 4 machines, which didn't really work very well.
AC was not working and hotel didnt seem to keen on fixing it. Restaurant food is terrible and VERY expensive. Waited 25 minutes for waiter to take order.. 15% gratuity already added or he would not have gotten a tip.
We stayed for a week. All staff were very friendly, and all rooms face the beach which is very nice. Due to the hotel location, transportation costs can be expensive. St Thomas taxis charge per person, and cost to go downtown is $6 per person and $8 per person to go further. Not bad for 1-2 people, but can be expensive or a family. We spent about $70 round trip one night to have dinner near downtown. Safaris are $1 - $2 per person, depending on distance, but do not run much in the evening, and have a specific route. We walked about 15 minutes from the hotel to get to a Safari (open air type of small bus) stop. Restaurants are very expensive everywhere, including at the hotel. When booking hotels, note that St Thomas hotels have significant taxes added to the room rate. For one week, our fees were around $800, making the room cost approach $400 per night, expensive for the quality. The ferries to other islands are reasonable, and we noted that clothing and souvenirs are on par with places like Mexico, possibly less expensive. In summary, the beaches and water are beautiful, but costs are much higher than comparable beautiful locations in Mexico.
Customer service here is Amazing, the whole staff is excellent from check in, on the beach with John and Tyler at the bar they really took care of us, can't wait to COME BACK!! The beach on the premises is So Covenient and Romantic!
When I read some of the reviews before I went to St. Thomas I was half-expecting a semi-disinterested staff, mediocre hotel. I was pleasantly surprised. I'm starting to realize that the people who complain about people not treating them right usually have their own issues. The hotel staff was excellent! One guy was even on his break and put down his food to help me and my friends find our room, and he refused a tip. We were kind to the staff and they were more than happy to oblige us. A word to travelers - when you are on THEIR soil, in THEIR hometown, treat them with respect and you won't have any problems. Our room was great. The view was awesome. We enjoyed the restaurant/bar area very much and stayed on the beach the whole time. I can't compare this with other hotels, but for the price, I would stay here again. Having the beach just a few steps from your door is worth a lot!
Our family had an awesome time. Great environment and the staff was friendly.
The room was nice and clean. The beach was right outside. The view from my deck was beautiful. Nice clean resort and friendly staff. Would stay here again.
Room was ok, We didn't spend much time in the room. The restaurant and bar was way over priced. The staff has the tip added to the bill so they didn't seem motivated to provide anything more that what they had too. Also for dinner they only show you a dinner menu which is way over priced and you have to ask for the basic sandwich menu. most people where not happy about the deception. Bar tenders didn't seem happy to be working.
Beautiful beach, great staff. We had fun. Would definitely stay there again. The only problem with our stay was the water was not hot, luke warm to cold.
Don't expect anymore that a nice location.......rooms were clean, but staff could care less if you were there!
Friendly staff, beautiful beach and snorkeling great beach bar! Love this place, can't wait to go back.
I was on a business trip and enjoyed staying. Excellent internet connection. My room had a very nice view.
Beautiful beach, perfect bay - but apart from a few bright spots (Mario, Amazon at reception, cool cat at the bar), service is generally inefficent and rude. From Tiffany at reception who is not helpful in any way and dismissive, to wait staff at the restaurant who are obviously overworked in low season, there are never any towels, you wait for everything, and when you get it, it's with a big dose of attitude. On the plus side rooms are big and comfortable and you can't beat proximity to the airport. Food is pretty good. The crowd is a good mix. Ok for a short stay provided you lower expectations and accept you are on island time. I was not impressed.
Nice location- need management - no tv remote, wrong info on check - in, front desk staff offen absent- uninterested. Food and service at restaurants and bar fantastic .
Romantic and satisfying. Close to everything. Good dinning. Good beach and pool.
