Four Seasons Resort - Nevis5.0 out of 5.0

Service is excellent and everyone we interacted with could not have been nicer or more helpful. Grounds are lovely, room is comfortable and food is good. Unfortunately Four Seasons continues to rent out more than half the hotel to large incentive groups who behave more like they are at a frat house than a luxury hotel. I will miss the wonderful staff but unless this changes I will not be back.
great hotel, wonderful staff, had a great time, great food, easy going with lots of fun on the island! Easy to get to, nice boat ride over. used the Four Seasons transfer service. A little more expensive, Picked up at airport and dropped us at the dock at the resort. made the transfer easy.
I am not sure where all the negativity in other reviews is coming from. This is absolutely a Four Seasons property. The service was attentive and the grounds were beautiful. The rooms were spotless and luxurious. They were not overly fancy, but I think they had an appropriate "Caribbean feel" to them. We enjoyed breakfast served on our patio each morning and spent our days at the beach or pool where we were tended to continuously with the "typical" Four Seasons resort items such as frozen fruit, flavored water, Evian spritz, etc. We highly recommend taking the free golf course tour to see the monkeys and other sights. We also recommend paying for an Island tour. You will want the full day tour to see all there is. We had Curvis Scarborough and he was excellent - highly recommended. The one negative that others said that we do agree with, and the reason for 4 stars rather than 5, is the food. It is definitely overpriced for what it is, even by Caribbean Resort standards. We tended to do a light lunch by the pool (the mezze platter is very nice) and then take a short stroll down the beach to Sunshine's, Turtle, etc for dinner. Not as fancy a dinner as we would have ideally had, but much more reasonably priced and quite good. Judging from the large number of other 4 Seasons guests we saw doing the same, (and the small number of people we saw in the 4S restaurants those nights we did dine on property) they are really shooting themselves in the foot with their exorbitant food prices. One other item that was way over priced is the cabanas. We had one our first day to try it out and it was quite nice, but not nice enough for us to spend that much money to do again. If it was about half the price we would have done it more days. Judging from the fact that most of them were empty the rest of the week, this is another area that their pricing is just hurting themselves.
I would rank the accommodations as a 3, but with the added friendliness and assistance of the staff, I will bump it up to a four. Does not meet my idea of a five star hotel/resort. We were in building 2- which didn't look fabulous from the outside, but the room itself was clean, cool and spacious. Bathroom was very clean, which I am rather picky with. The fish tacos at the Cabana were worthy of repeating nearly every day. Organized banquet dinner was excellent with steak and lobster. I requested a recipe one morning at breakfast and the waitstaff took my email info and I received the recipe that day. The following morning the same wait person followed up with me by name and then the chef came out to see if I had questions- excellent service. If you ask for bottled water from the staff at the entrance you do not pay but if you want a bottle of water at lunch it is $7. Beach staff is great though part of the beach is undergoing restoration (construction) and it was a bit loud. Snorkeling was great per my husband just beyond the rocks out front. Massage was very nice- onetaff member, Dicipline, was very nice and friendly!
The hotel is right on a nice beach with three pools to choose from and good restaurants. That said: o The food and services are overpriced (e.g. $24 for a hamburger is on the steep side) o The hotel is 20 years old and is showing it; it needs a serious renovation in the next five years (e.g. palm trees cut down with no replanting, cracked sidewalks, ...) o The service is mediocre. We were on our way out and asked where we could get a quick bite to eat in 45-60 minutes. They graciously said they could run a "rush" order on a couple of hamburgers and serve them in the lobby. After nearly 45 minutes, 3 check-ins (after waiting 30 minutes we starting checking in), a manager finally brought them and tried to convince us that it takes up to 45 minutes to cook a hamburger to make sure it is cooked thoroughly. They had not thought to even bring our drinks while we waited. Amazingly disappointed in Four Seasons service.
The staff all learned our names and made us feel very welcome--particularly the concierges, Mathew by the pool and Kerry. We were showered with special gifts throughout our stay. It was truly a memorable stay. We could have stayed another week and not done everything we wanted to do!
Great place and awesome views. However, too much money for hotel considering you're not in it that much. Food and drink was way overpriced but there's cheaper restaurants down the beach that has great food and drink at very reasonable prices. I would recommend taking a trip around the island in an ATV. Pretty cool!
Beautiful resort. I wish it was a little easier to get to. I didn't like the bug bites. Food was wonderful. Resort staff was very cordial. I had a fantastic time snorkeling. I wish I could have taken advantage of more of the activities the resort had to offer. Thank you for a great week.
Beautiful resort. Friendly and thorough staff. Felt safe and sound. Quiet, restful stay. Always was so nice of them to recognize our anniversary and my birthday. Did scuba diving, rum tasting, jet skiing and of couse, the MONKEYS!
Stay was perfect. Atmosphere at the resort was perfect. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Christina was excellent. So enjoyable was our stay. I don't know what else to say except the trip was wonderful. We would recommend the Four Seasons to any one traveling to Nevis.
