8/10 Good

A special place for sure, but not the best choice for everyone. I cannot express how difficult the road is to traverse. It is more of a rocky trail than a road. You're going up it at 5mph and that still feels a bit sketchy, even with four wheel drive. When another car is coming in the opposite direction, or if it is wet and muddy from the rain, it will cause some stress for the driver and passengers. Though the start of the Johnny Horn walking trail is there, even past the house there is some vehicular traffic for a bit up that trail and it is a long and tough hike to the beach - much better off driving down the hill to the regular road and driving to those beaches. The house has only screens - no windows. So it can be loud especially when a car is going by on the road, or in our case we could hear the construction of the very nearby house continuing on most days (and some loud fights among the construction folks or owners of that property). The house had everything we needed (other than a TV and oven). When it is raining outside it does feel rather cramped and inconvenient since the shower is outside and the deck is much of the living area. There are no bedroom doors - just curtains. There is indeed a loft bed in one of the rooms but it is very difficult to get into (due to the rope ladder to access it) and it is very small - best for a child (and I would worry about safety for a child there. The main room futon is a good child option. Wifi not reliable.
