Checking in to the property was a breeze. The inside of the house was nice, and the listing was true for beds and baths. There were several things in and around the house that were broken or not working properly when we arrived, including the master bathroom faucet drips constantly, the master bathroom toilet paper holder was falling off the wall, and the dryer timed cycle doesn’t work (it doesn’t shut off). We also found dirty dishes in the cabinets (I assume this was from the previous renters). Also the landscaping that is proudly talked about in the listing is overgrown with weeds and dead plantings.
Our biggest concern, however, was safety. The entire outside deck has loose nails and screws sticking up. The first thing that happened when exploring the property was a family member was stuck in the foot. Thankfully he felt it before it hurt him too bad and he moved his foot before putting all of his weight down. Along with the loose and sticking up nails and screws were many loose boards and steps, and one step that was broken in half. We learned to avoid these areas and just wear shoes everywhere- even out to the pool, but that is a dangerous situation.
Overall our trip was good because of St. George Island itself. Unfortunately we will not be returning to this property.
