Unforgettable because unexpected happened here, our iPhone lost in the hotel passage was couriered back to India after we were back. The property is too big with active and bustling restaurants. Service is excellent and the vista from the rooms is amazing. Try the SPA and sea food its worth a visit to beach hotel.
This is a proper 5* star hotel. So many other plots claim to be 4* and 5* but in reality they are not .... but this one is pukka quality! Food is excellent, rooms are plush and specious and the service to go with it. This also means that the price of this hotel is considerably more than others too! Overall, excellent! Over all, excellent!
This is one of those properties which are always difficult to review/rate as they are par excellence on all defined parameters in hospitality. The hotel has a private beach, outdoor restaurant / bar, some great eating options, spacious rooms and loads of other activities for an ideal holiday destination. On top of all this, it’s the Taj way of hospitality that is as always “out of this world”.
We went there for week with my 16 year old son. We had a great trip - the staff are all very friendly and would go out of their way to help you. The public beach was easily accessible through the rear of the hotel - it was very clean , soft sand and lots of big waves. The rooms are well maintained though a slightly dated. Food was excellent! We are all vegetarian and the staff led by the head cook Niraj and second in command Manjula went out their way to look after us in all the restaurants. Thank you Vivanta!
Amazing place, best property of Bentota, amazing views of beach. You have the direct access of the beach. Beach here is very clean, you will find people swimming in the sea.The hospitality is great, staffs are very courteous.Breakfast was widely spreaded. Many options of Indian food also available. Altogether a very nice experience.
overall rating will be excellent, apart from the experience we had at the pool. for hotel of this size they need to have one more pool. The need to clean the bottom of the pool, from stone, sharp pebbles and glasses. All my three children had the leg cut at the pool.
This is must to go place ....everything is so perfect and Met one of the finest person Mr Ajay ...rooms director and Mr Neeraj ..Master chef in Palms ...the duo can make you the perfect guest with their hospitality and finest details on everything . Best north Indian food on island ....keep it up. Thank you team Taj Bentota.
Though I cringe at the hotel rates during festival time , I was there at the Taj on Christmas eve and the decor simply took my breath away..and the cuisine was also very festive. The hotel has a cocktail party for the room guests on the sea facing terrace and it was a lovely experience Hospitality is Tajs forte and this was no different The room was garden facing and the garden faced the sea !! So a 3 minute walk was all it took to soak in the beautiful beaches of Bentota Saving the best for the last is the Mantra we follow while travelling and after Sigiriya , Kandy , Nuwara Eliya , the TAJ was like icing on the cake Though the buffet on the next day after Christmas eve was not as varied , it was good All in all , a fabulous stay
We went to Vivanta by Taj by Bentota to spend a night there as a gift 🎁 from my loving husband. Our homecoming was held in Taj and we selected the same place for the birthday celebration too .Their service was excellent. The room was very clean and tidy . We had a delicious and a healthy breakfast which was warm. The room was very comfortable and had a jacuzzi with a great view of the sea and of the surrounding. We highly recommend Taj to anyone. Thanks a bunch Taj . We will surely come back
I travelled with two girlfriends (we're in our 50s) and we couldn't have picked a better time to visit south west Sri Lanka - December 6-13th - nor a better hotel to stay in. The Vivanta is situated on a spectacular beach with perfectly clean, warm water and vigourous surf to jump in or ride on depending on whether you rent a board or not. Apparently in January the surf dies down and the water goes crystal clear so people snorkel rather than surf. We had cloudless blue skies every day, barring one short shower on our last day, because the monsoon ends at the beginning of December. The food was excellent, especially the Sri Lankan dishes, and the service impeccable from all staff whether they were working in reception, waiting tables or cleaning the rooms. I read some reviews that said it needed decorating and some parts probably did but it would be absurdly picky to let that colour your view of this lovely hotel. All in all I give the Vivanta five stars and would definitely go back. My only word of caution about going to Sri Lanka for just as week, as we did, is to manage your expectations about how much you'll get to see. It takes FOREVER to get anywhere as the roads are so busy and slow; just going to Galle took a whole day with the taxi even though on paper it's only an hour away. The bus drivers barge cars and tuk-tuks off the road and motorcyclists overtake on blind bends . . . all the usual things that have us Brits saying our final prayers in the back seat!
