Nice enough hotel in good location for visiting tooth temple and Kandy town. Full of large tour groups during our stay. Food OK but catering to a large range of western tastes. Curries were better. Very friendly staff. Rooms basic but have everything you need.
I witnessed and enjoyed the MOST scenic view of kandy being in the Royal Palace rooms during my stay. Rooms are Huge and Full of amenities.. Food was ok but limited variety(specially the Breakfast) even the Hotel was fully booked on that date.. Didnt enjoy the Swimming Pool time at all. Not much Hotel amenities except for the pool.
Great location, We booked this hotel while we were on excursion with our guide Kamal. Enjoyed a beautiful and relaxing stay in this exquisite hotel. The staff was an amazing, we were treated like royalty. Food for breakfast & dinner was plentiful, tasty and catered for all tastes. We would really recommend as a place to stay.
I booked the Hotel for a nights stay with my family. I was given a good room with an excellent view of the Kandy. The dinner and breakfast were great and the staff too courteous. However service in the room was poor. The room did not get proper air conditioning and my wife's complaint was not attended to; may be the airconditioner was not enough for such a big suite. The flow of water in the bath did not have proper pressure and that we have to ask for toiletries, each and every time the need arises. Overall it was not satisfactory and I would not say excellent...
Great location, interesting rooms (retro style), lots of places to walk, interesting pool areas, nice bar area. The service left something to be desired, it could use a bit of touch up here and there, and the food was only so-so, but what I appreciated most about this hotel was its interesting style and design. Yes, you have to walk up and down stairs and around some corners in a sometimes clumsy way, but it has a lot of charm and some beautiful views of Kandy. Buddha's Tooth is just a short walk down the hill and you can get to the lake fairly easily. I don't have any other Kandy hotels to compare it to, but I would definitely return to the Thilanka.
I stayed in October 2017 at Thilanka Hotel Kandy. Good View and nice environment. I really experienced the WIFI facility in this hotel is the fastest from other hotels in Kandy. And also Foods are really good.
First they did not give the room i requested. So I had to satisfy with the room which they offered. And they started calling from 10 AM, just to ask my check-out time. They called thrice! Bad service. Breakfast buffet is terrible. Cold coffee.
Inn is adjacent the Kandy focus so no compelling reason to orchestrate exchange to get to Buddha sanctuary. Lovely view to the city. Rooms are spotless and sufficiently huge. Swimming pool in the inn is a major in addition to. Staff is extremely useful. A decent eatery.
Hotel Thilanka is on the hill above the city center. Has great views of the lake and spacious clean well equipped rooms. Breakfast was a treat and the service of the staff very good. Very good value for the price.
I have been disparaging this inn for couple of times amid my visits to Kandy and happened to remain in the first seven day stretch of SEP 2017 which in the long run wound up being the most noticeably awful of all . From the booking to the look at everything was non methodical and approach of the staff was amateurish and inexcusable Front office Staff guaranteed a room on a higher floor yet they overlooked my demand and offered a room on a ground level which we declined to stay .I made 2 rooms reserving for 1 and 2 evenings .The bed cloth looked unpleasantly old and torn and recolors .No shoes no tissue encloses no heated water the rooms . We crossed out our booking and registered with another inn in Kandy . There is a female staff working at the Receptionist counter who is brimming with state of mind and have fits at visitors . She grabs superfluous contentions with every one of the visitors and never listens . Better she takes in the business and have some regard towards the visitor , None remains there FOC . So is the server who conveyed my supper to the room . General rooms are littler and extremely old. They have a higher classification which is alright and open . I was amazed to see the bed cloth torn and recolored . Avoid this property ! They better concentrate on the administration benchmarks and nature of the staff on the off chance that they have to give a superb support of their recognizing visitors ! Unreommended for the said reasons and we as a whole confronted the circumstances .
