I recently stayed here and was impressed from the moment I arrived .It is a building built by the Dutch 250 years ago . Check-in was prompt and I was given a Tamarind tea as a welcome drink.Delicious and healthy. The courtyard is beautiful and contains a huge Tamarind Tree .You can dine their either inside or out . The room was spacious and smelt of cinnamon. I loved the spacious bathroom, which had shutters which opened out into a small personal courtyard. TV ,air conditioning and bar fridge were appreciated . The four poster bed had an excellent mosquito net . Breakfast was good and I opted for hoppers as a part of breakfast .Sri Lanlan options needed to be ordered the night before .Lots of choice for breakfast .Ask for what you would like . I also ate here at night and prices were reasonable and on a par with the restaurants in the Dutch hospital precinct .The menu was varied and cocktails were good Staff were professional and friendly .Nothing was too much trouble .Id particularly like to thank Kasumi and Sugath(excuse my spelling ). Thanks to all staff for helping a single woman traveller feel safe and at home .

We booked this hotel on booking.com half an hour before we arrived. We were greeted with so much enthusiasm. Our stay was memorable. The room was amazing, so big and comfortable with old world charm. Pool was an added bonus....so clean. We watched monkeys climbing from tree to tree whilst we were swimming. Breakfast was out of this world. Staff were the best we had encountered during our south west drive around for 7 days. I would recommend this place to anyone. No. 1 in our eyes.

Our family of 8 stayed at Tamarind Hill for 3 nights during our trip to Galle. It was by far our favourite hotel throughout our entire Sri Lankan adventure. The rooms are massive, cosy, clean, and incredibly comfortable. There are only 12 rooms altogether in the estate, including 2 of them in another section, which are apparently the most exquisite and biggest suites. But the 4 rooms we had were already so exquisite we were so happy during our stay. Throughout our time at Tamarind Hill, the service staff consistently provided top quality service. A special shout out to Sangeeth, a member of the dining area service staff. He was warm, attentive without being intrusive. My family looked forward to seeing his great, friendly smile every morning. He remembered our beverage preferences, and was welcoming in every way. There seems to be a vibrant wildlife in the hotel grounds - we spotted hares, squirrels and even 2 peacocks roaming in the beautiful garden during our daily breakfast! Our stay at Tamarind Hill was the highlight of our time in Galle. We will definitely return!

We had a restful holiday at Tamarind Hill. Great Staff, food and the room was fantastic. Highly recommend it. The location and design of the pool is particularly awesome. The beautiful garden and trees is also a plus !

This old colonial house was just amazing. And i really enjoyed the holiday in Tamarind hill hotel.staff was very friendly and help full even food rooms and the pool is just awsome.special thnx to munthaj from the reception and to the whole staff. And the thing is we missed this heaven badly & will come back soon.

Stayed here during a wedding where the couple booked the entire hotel. Small place of just a dozen or so rooms, but lots of privacy and high level of service from the staff. Location +: it's away from the main attraction of the galle fort, so it's quiet and exclusive. Also set against a luscious backdrop of plants, feels like you're in a rainforest resort. -: it's not within walking distance to the fort, but just hop on a tuktuk and you'll be there in 10 minutes. Room +: beautiful and tastefully furnished, with a British Indian vibe to it. Open concept shower in the bathroom. Very spacious, each room has a nice courtyard too. The bridal suite was MASSIVE. Amenities +: there's a nice pool to lounge by. Rabbits and peacocks roam around freely in the compound. -: no gym or other entertainment but you don't need that in a place like this. You would come here to just unwind and forget about the world completely.

It was a Nice property with wonderful hospitality, it almost feels like home and beautiful all around. Foods were so perfect with a variety of different countries' menus. Special thanks to staff member Ms.Vijanthi for being so kind and helpful during my stay.

Excellent hotel...beautiful classic property and kept extremely clean. So beautiful & Cham, and excellent hospitality. Front desk staff is very friendly and welcoming. My stay was absolutely perfect. From the kind, courteous, and professional staff, to the meticulous, comfortable rooms and common areas, and the breakfast buffet and great food my experience was nothing less than exceptional. Special thanks to Vijanthi and everyone at tamarind hill.

We are just back from an amazing 5 night stay at this hotel. It was stunning with a beautiful pool area and courtyard. Rooms were spacious, clean and well equipped. Staff went out of their way to help us and meet our needs, even helping us take our daughter to hospital which was very much appreciated! Our daughter (and us) loved the monkeys, rabbits, peacocks, turtles, fish, squirrels and lizards we could see on the grounds. The restaurant was lovely with a fantastic breakfast. We would also recommend the river safari as we had a great time! Just amazing! Would definitely recommend this hotel and we really hope to go back sometime soon! Special thanks to Casuni for all of her help however all the staff were brilliant especially when our daughter was sick x

A great environment to relax. Absolutely loved the colonial architecture. The rooms were quite spacious and felt homely. Service and food was excellent and the staff was very helpful as well. Highly recommended!
