I dropped the electricity switch board in attempt to switch on a lamp early hours in the morning ( app 4am )I walked into reception and explained my problem and electrician turned up in about 15 minutes and fixed it very good service at 4am

My wife Umanga and I had to attend a morning/afternoon wedding at the hotel and decided to kick off our Sri Lanka tour by spending 1 night there along with our dear friends Roshan and Sharmaine from Sydney. We were really pampered by all the staff who have honed their skills in old world Kandyan hospitality. This is a heritage type hotel and I was really surprised at the improvements that had been made at the property and this is a little haven so close to the centre of Kandy and blessed to have the mighty Mahaweli river beside it. We really enjoyed our evening sipping some nice cool long cocktails on the terrace by the pool with some nice views. All the meals were also delicious even though it was buffet with plenty of fare on offer for varied palates. Most of all we enjoyed the Sri Lankan breakfast. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and appreciated the service from the staff who are maintaining standards and the charm of the hotel.

We stayed there for one night only but our stay was worth. The place is beautifully made. The food was great, the service of great. Wi-fi speed was good. There was live music even on a week day. Had a cultural programme for the guests which was also great. They have a big pool.

This hotel is located well and the rooms are spacious. But they are old fashioned in decor. The baggage staff caused long delays while bringing the luggage up to my room and while checking out too. Breakfast buffet was wide in selection but taste was about average.

Stayed at Mahaweli for a night during our visit to Kandy and it was a pleasant stay. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The hotel offers some great views and services. The food is great however the room service is slow.

This is my second time at Mahaweli Reach, but the first time for my family. We arrived here at 9 o'clock to a warm welcome, and were swiftly checked in. The room was the most wonderful one, spacious, Clean and comfortable, the beds huge and done exactly the way we had asked for it, though we had booked it far in advance, we did not expect the details to be complied with to the T. We were introduced to the dinner immediately by one of the staff members, with an even more beautiful smile and a never tiring service. Also we had a problem with the ac of one of the rooms which was immediately rectified. The breakfast was the best ever had in Kandy. This hotel has a wonderful ambiance and an even better staff that forms the core to being successful today. A big shout out to Demanti who made our stay memorable and unimaginably comfortable. Thank you Mahaveli Reach for such marvelous hospitality and we are sure to return to this place once again !

Bedroom was damp including bedding, my 4 yr old ended up with a fever on day 2. Demanded a room change but was the same. Would have been a 1 if it not had been for the good good and professional restaurant staff.

We travel in a 50 seater coach annually to this Hotel for Bradby Shield Rugby match with my school mates. Always we have an awesome time. We have the dinner buffet running all night with a good band in attendance.

Kandy has the worst traffic we have ever experienced but it is well worth a visit as it is the 'old' Sri Lanka and this hotel is built in the best colonial trading and design. Service is very slow but that seemed to be the norm through the entire country and if tourism keeps building this will be an issue for everyone. Kids meals are excellent value and plentiful too

The hotel facilities were good, however due to paucity of time we could not enjoy all of the offerings. our stay was pleasant. The dinner spread was excellent, the breakfast spread could do with some improvement though.
