Our two night stay at this hotel in February 2017 has Simply been an extension of the warm and unassuming spirit of the Sri Lankan people. Difficult to say what about this Hotel calls you back again..everything about it is in place! The lovely AC cottages , the relaxing openness of the well landscaped lawns, the tranquil Habarana lake on the property, the options of outdoor activities available there or boating make it such a self sufficient property to be on that my sister and me changed our itinerary from discovering the local markets that evening to just soaking in the Habarana Village ambience and we are so glad we did that! The buffet spreads for breakfast and dinner were both great tasting and great Value for Money!! What has been the highlight of it all is the hospitality of the ever smiling staff who made our stay there an unforgettable memory . Good Job guys. Would love to be there again!
We stayed for 3 nights at this really nice hotel. Lovely environment set out in lodge style within a nature park with lake, walks and a stunning butterfly garden. Lots of wildlife, especially monkeys which are fascinating. The staff are helpful and friendly. The rooms in the lodge were fine and fitted the setting. Outdoor shower is protected, i assume, to stop the many families of monkeys getting in! We didn't eat in the hotel in the evening as we visited a couple of very good local restaurants but the breakfasts were delicious. Nice swimming pool and sun beds for a welcome swim to cool down. On the way to the hotel, lots of warning signs regarding wild elephants crossing the road!! We were lucky enough to see one from the safety of the car!
We spent 3 nights here and had our own little bungalow in the grounds, which we thought would be quite basic, but it was lovely. There are few restaurants near here, so we booked dinner and the buffet was excellent and good value. The bar and dining area are very attractive and relaxing. The staff were so friendly and helpful and the place seems well managed. If you want an authentic Ayervedic massage, there is an excellent place in the woods about a mile from the hotel. Service, cleanliness and food were all great. We really enyoyed our stay here and would definitely recommend it. There is no 'bling' about the place and it is the better for it.
Given how unbelievably "picky" some people on TA are, let me start with the strange things that might put some people off, then list the good. Breakfast is from 0630 and technically till c 10, but we found that if we got there by 8 most large groups had moved on, and although there was plenty of food left, some of it looked like it was getting a little dried-out. Meat for the evening meal was often quite tough. Dinner available FROM 7.30 but I think this is fairly common in SL hotels. One thundery night we had quite a few power "outages", but this is probably not the hotel's fault at all. Internet sopmewhat "clunky" for me, at least, though speeds good when it was working normally. Oddly, some of our "clean" towels didn't seem that clean. EIther they had some stains that could not be washed out, or they just hadn't been washed properly, and that is what makes me delete the 5th star. Good things: food, on the whole, was very nice with lots of choice, and a strong emphasis on vegetable options. Lovely gardens with the lake (which is largely man-made in fact) and animals that go with it, such as monkeys, birds, and large numbers of semi-feral dogs, which nevertheless were good-natured. Staff were all lovely, kind, and helpful. If you try to learn a few words of Sinhala, as I did, they are utterly charming. Room clean and spacious. (Decor of bathroom a bit odd though: I've never seen a concrete bath tub before!) Would I stay there again- yes.
The room was lovely and the staff were great! Beautiful pool and surrounding grounds. It's near to the sights we visited over 3 days. There's nothing in the vicinity (one street viilage) so you really have to eat at the hotel - but that wasn't a problem!
A nice Resort at a distance of 20 km from Dambula at a Village Harbana. There are so many Hotels at a small Town Habarana. We stayed here for 2 days. Accommodation are in fully furnished AC cottages surrounded by natural greenery. We enjoyed here. A nice buffet and breakfast with plenty of variety. However it was best for non-vegetarian but limited option yet sufficient for vegetarian. This will be common in Colombo. Sheaf visited us and prepared some veg dishes especially for us. Reception and Room service were good and prompt. I will definitely recommend for stay.
The service was excellent. A couple hiccups, but taken care of very well. Having been here years back multiple times before the tourism boom, it is fantastic to see the improvements and professionalism. I would not be doing any justice if I did not mention Achini in the dining facility. She was phenomenal. Professional as well as caring. You are very lucky to have someone like her in your staff. It would be a 4 star review if not for her. Thanks for a lovely stay. Will be back!
We stayed here for 3 nights as part of the Thompson Discover Sri Lanka Tour. The villas were clean and well kept. The rooms had a mini bar and free room safe. The food was good, buffet self service with a wide variety of food and a separate cool room for the deserts and cold breakfast items. The Hotel is situated next to a lake with some wildlife around the hotel grounds. We used this hotel as a base to discover the surrounding area which includes Siggiriya Rock/Dambulla Cave temples/Poolnanwarra and a few nature reserves.
A peaceful setting. Hotel staff were very accommodating. It appeared the property was in need of some renovation. Food was excellent (buffet-style) & good selection. Dinning & bar area is all open. Our group stayed 2 nights.
This is a great hotel to stay at when visiting sigiriya. The staff are extremely friendly. The rooms are modern and have all the facilities. The pool is in the center of the hotel. Food was good - specially the Sri Lankan options. You can use the bikes that the hotel provides and take a cycle ride around the property.
