Great location. Staff is what makes it even better. Enjoyed it.
Good location. Great staff. Shower stall in #4 was terrible. Wrong base was used, not stable to stand in. Rust and mold.
The rooms are beautifully appointed. They are small but not cramped. As the name suggests, this hotel shares a wall with the grand domed room in which Diocletian would don his purple robes before a public appearance. The rooms have one exposed Roman brick and stone wall that allows you to almost feel Diocletian's presence. The included breakfast has all you could want and you can enjoy it in a clean crisp interior room or outdoors in the quiet plaza at the rear entry of the Vestibule itself. The heart of the place is Marco (actually there are two Marco's). They are engaging energetic and relentlessly enthusiastic young men who do everything from pick you up at the airport to "manning" the front desk to serving as concierge. The other staff are cordial as well, creating an ambience of elegance with a light spirit that is infectious. Don't go to Split to just see Diocletian's palace - live in the heart of the palace and share his spirit. There is no elevator, so if stairs are difficult this is not the place for you, but he location is perfect for everything you might want to do.
The hotel annex is quiet with comfortable beds, very helpful front desk, and a nice room. My suggestion would be to go to the main hotel for brunch breakfast since it has many more options than the smaller breakfast that is available at the annex. Was happy with the hotel and would stay there again.
The people were so helpful and recommended the best eating places and helped us get around. They were great.
