A fabulous hotel, a real find. We stay in a lot of hotels and this is one of the absolute best. The staff are courteous and helpful, the location is beyond stunning and the rooms are large and comfortable. And you get to sleep in Diocletian's bedroom.
The Vestibul is part of the Deocletian Palace in Split, Croatia. There are only 7 rooms in this hotel. The hotel staff could not have been nicer. They were always helpful and courteous, The part of the hotel we stayed in was over 1700 years old but the room was very modern and comfortable. Highly recommend this hotel.
The personnel were very helpful and personable. The location is in the heart of Split and very close to the harbor. The rooms were clean and comfortable. We needed to use a sofa bed. We went to dinner, and by the time we returned, the staff had already opened and made the bed; totally unexpected. A continental breakfast was provided.
This deserved more than a TripAdvisor 5 Star Review Hotel Vestibule Palace is right in the center of the old town and the Emperor Diocletian’s original palace. Beautiful boutique hotel, well-appointed and the staff was so courteous. When I asked for the gentleman (porter, bellman, waiter) to point us toward a restaurant, he instead walked us all the way there. Upon checkout he carted our luggage all the way to the ferry terminal - not a short hike - and onto the ferry and to our seats! But that’s not the best part. I’m a bit of a forgetful idiot and realized upon arrival in Hvar that I did not have a bag of purchases (fairly pricey) from Split. I had left the bag in the chair of a cafe in Split the night before (!) I called the Cafe, who miraculously had found the package. The Hotel Vestibule agreed to collect the package from the cafe and ship to my home in the US (Texas), refusing any sort of fee beyond shipping costs. Of course, I will refer this hotel to everyone I meet because we know when someone has gone the distance! Actually, Croatia may have the most service-oriented people in the world.
This place is INCREDIBLE. First, I should start by saying I was able to get a room about 15 minutes before I arrived (I had an ordeal with the previous place I booked). When I got there, I was so impressed! The room (room 1) was sparkling clean and ice cold (which I love). But I have to say, the service here is what stood out. Better service than any hotel I’ve ever stayed at. 1. There are really A LOT of staff for how small the hotel is. They are everywhere, ready to help with anything. They grabbed your bags, etc. I even had a staff member carry my luggage THROUGH TOWN and guide me to where my yacht was. He brought my stuff on hoard for me! I was shocked! 2. The main front-desk receptionist/concierge seemed to work 24/7 and really knew everything or knew who to ask! I was looking for my cruise yacht the next day, and she was able to find out the location. She was just very friendly and helpful! 3. The free breakfast is SO GOOD. Gourmet, really. Fresh, locally baked pastries and breads/rolls, crepes, fruit, juices, meats, eggs, etc. It was the best breakfast out of my 4-week European trip, and it was free! 4. The location is incredible. It’s actually connected to the historical sites! Overall, the staff here were all so pleasant, helpful, and professional. I was so surprised at the level of service! With such clean rooms, this place is definitely worth the extra money.
Comfortable hotel built with the walls of the original palace in Split. Some rooms a bit small because of the nature of the building but staff could not be more friendly or more helpful. Great venue for accessing trips and restaurants and the bustling promenade. Lovely place to stay in Split
I thought I was booking a room at Hotel Vestibul Palace but they gave us Villa Dobric instead. They did mention it is 200 meters away from the main hotel but they should have a seprate booking for Villa Dobric and not under Vestibul palace as it is misleading. That being said the location of the Villa is very good and they did help us carry all our luggage as their was a lot of stairs. The main bed was in the attic with very little head space so my 6 feet husband couldn't sleep there as it was very uncomfortable for him to wake up in the middle of the night without the fear of banging his head to go to the bathroom downstairs with those spiral stairs. He had to sleep on the sofa couch so it is convenient. My 8 year old son on the other hand enjoyed the attic and going down the spiral staircase in that room.People who worked their were very nice and hospitable. We were given 2 free drinking water bottle the first day we arrived and were told we will get complimentary bottles every day.But the day I was checking out they billed us for the water and they are expensive water bottles. If we knew we could have easily gone and bought it from Konsum. They did not take the charges off.Was pretty dissapointed with our stay though given the amount of money they charge. They are not worth the money.
Is is an unbelievable experience to be in a hotel in the middle of Diocletian's Palace. The fact that is an outstanding facility is a bonus. There are only 7 rooms. We had reserved a suite which was lovely, and included a portion of one wall that was 2000 year old. Though no elevator, there are not many steps and not a problem unless disabled. The staff is professional, personal, helpful and friendly. If you go to Split this is an experience that should not be missed.
A great little hotel in the heart of the palace of old town Split, we were picked up at the airport by the hotel, great room breakfast and the service was excellent would highly recommend if visiting split.
We checked in late after a horrid travel day with Austria air, that got us in 10 hours later then they should have and lost our bags. Everything was closed when we got in but the angel behind the desk went and found us some food out of the kitchen anyway. On day 2 they upgraded our room because it was our anniversary and because we had no luggage (Austria Airlines lost all 4 bags, for 6 days!). The staff went out of their way to constantly call to check on the status of our bags as well as just being a general joy to deal with. The hotel itself is small but first class, breakfast in particular was outstanding each morning.
