This place served its purpose, late booking to be in the area. Southwest Harbor is definitely a quieter location. Restaurants, coffee shops and access to hiking, biking etc. perfect. The place is on a road, so a bit of traffic noise in am. The pics of the bedrooms are inaccurate. There is now a very large, four poster bed in the room for the queen. Either side of the bed has about 12 inches to maneuver beside the bed. Challenging at night in the dark or for someone who has limited mobility. The other room pics show a full size bunk in the pictures. That bunk has been replaced with a twin bunk that is wood and large. To be fair, the description does say twin bunk bed. The washer and dryer is also in that room. Oddly the coffee maker is a small 4 cup and pretty sure the 1 coffee bag left for our 4 day stay was for a regular size coffee maker. Not a big deal, but honest and accurate is important and appreciated. Place was quaint and we didn’t spend much time in it. Ask for updated bedroom pic if you want to see it. Forgot to take a pic

Super cute place! Excellent location for Acadia National Park. Peaceful, A/C, laundry, cute little kitchen care pack (an old review said there was nothing to wash dishes with- that no longer is the case, we were provided dish soap and a sponge) and a bathroom care pack with shampoo, conditioner, laundry, and soap/body wash. It was pricy but that’s expected during peak travel times and we booked pretty late in the year. Grateful to have found this gem and highly recommend.

Great spot away from too much tourism - made for a quiet retreat each evening and a great place to boil seafood! Access to the quieter parts of the park is a breeze too.

Simple, clean, and bright
The property manager, Amanda, was great! Super helpful and easy to communicate with. Space is simple, clean, and bright. A short drive to SW Harbor which we loved (much quieter than Bar Harbor). Outdoor fire pit was lovely, but we did not use due to high mosquito activity. Most basics included and great to have access to washer/dryer. No dishwasher, so head’s up. Would have loved one or two spots more of comfy seating. One, 3 person, couch in common space. Made it hard to gather in the evenings. Had to sit on hard kitchen chairs while talking and watching movies together. This is main reason for 3 star overall rating despite this property earning more stars in specific categories. Otherwise met our needs, especially considering this is a destination where we spent the majority of time out and about. Ideal for a couple or family of 3.
This cabin is perfect for a small family with a car. It’s in the middle of everything. It’s a basic house but has everything you need- nice hot shower, cooking utensils, camp fire, etc. I still dream of the naps we had on the sofa. The surroundings are peaceful with lots of deer strolling by.

All was amazing. My only issue was the larger bed. It's not lying flat on the bed frame, instead it is in an arc. I have major back issues so I was unable to use it. I slept on the couch instead.

An unexpected journey
Upon checking in, my partner started to have a bad reaction to all of the fresh exposed wood in the house. Neither of us were aware she had this sensitivity. It did not affect me at all. Amanda came to the rescue and was able to transfer us to another property right on the ocean in the heart of Bar Harbor, essentially saving our vacation. I will just say that the new property was so nice, it was a step down when we finally returned home after the vacation. Amanda rocks!!!

Long weekend stay
Hello, overall we enjoyed our stay although we were disappointed by the lack of kitchen/cleaning supplies especially as we were asked to clean all dishes and start laundry on our own. There was no dish soap, no dish towels, no oven mitts in the kitchen for us to use to wash dishes. If they added these items, our stay would’ve been very smooth!

The cottage was clean and well appointed. The beds were comfortable, We really enjoyed and made good use of the fire pit. It was all set up and ready to light. Southwest Harbor is my favorite place to stay on the island. It is much less touristy than Bar Harbor but still has some good dining options as well as a nice coffee shop. We had a great stay.

The White Cottage
The cottage was amazing. We enjoyed the location and it was absolutely perfect lodging for my family. We spent every night at the secluded fire pit. It was a great way to end our jam packed days. We would definitely go back.
