My husband loves to race fast cars and though this was a bit away from the tracks, it was a perfect place to meet his racing partner and family. In total we were a party of six, two of which were children 4 and 7. The hotel is surrounded by some beautiful grounds and has a lot of character making it slightly different to newer Holiday Inn properties. We were greeted by a friendly member of the staff and as loyal IHg customers were immediately thanked and offered points or drinks. Our room was a little difficult to find initially as we had to go up an elevator to then go down to our room. A tip would be to make sure that customers are able to carry their luggage as it seemed at one point the only way was via a flight of stairs. The room was a little tired looking (the wires kept coming out of the TV), but the linens were crisp as were the towels. In truth, this is the only reason I gave the review four stars and not five. However, I have to fully congratulate the team for their friendliness at all times. I was very impressed with their attitude that nothing was ever too much trouble. We had dinner in the restaurant and the food was delicious with generous portions to boot! The kids ate free for dinner and breakfast and as I said, nothing was too much-the youngsters wanted hot chocolate that was not really too hot-and our waitress (sorry I should have got her name) was delighted to make sure that it was perfect for them. During breakfast, we enjoyed a beautiful buffet of hot and cold choices with healthy and not so healthy options depending on what you fancy. What impressed me the most was that despite being fully booked with two weddings, the staff never gave the impression that they were too busy to be available. The atmosphere was calm and welcoming. We would stay here again in the future, but would ask for a room with a bit better access.
When you first enter the place looks very modern and fresh but that changes once you get your room. They are dated both in furniture and deco. They are also in need of decorating. Furniture is old and stained. The corridor linking the two blocks smells of damp. No security locks on down stairs windows so they can be opened fully meaning you can't leave them open over night. Ok for one night but wouldn't want to spend longer. Plus side surprisingly quiet considering its location, staff very friendly and helpful and food was ok.
Everything you need for a stay, rooms are a little small but comfortable and well equipped I Would stay here again the hotel is located just off junction 36 of the A1(M) in a place called Warmsworth. The hall in the grounds is used for weddings - a nice venue
I stayed here on the recommendation of a friend who lives in the area. Everything was appropriately prepared and managed for my 2 night stay. Clean room. Comfortable bed. Roomy. Also a good restaurant with friendly and professional staff. Highly recommended.
I visited once before and had an issue with the bar. However, after coming back for a wedding, I can say the quality of service has definitely improved. I had no problems with any drinks and the food was of good standard. The staff on site were very friendly and the whole day was enjoyable to the end. Thanks!
Stayed 2 nights whilst attending a wedding. Very good value - rooms comfortable with good amenities and tasty food with lots of variety. But the real highlight was the friendly and very helpful service from all staff. Some of the 'waiting staff' were quite young but they were attentive, helpful and nothing seemed to much. A real credit to the hotel.
Stayed here for 2 nights as part of a wedding party. My friend's wedding was amazing, she was looked after so well by the staff who all worked hard to make sure it was perfect for her. The bed was super comfy, lovely pillows, the whole room in general was great, could just do with a bit more lighting as it seems really dark in them. There was enough space in our family room. Very happy with the food, lovely breakfast and the wedding meal was delicious, can't really comment on the buffet as I was too busy dancing but it looked good!!!! I have to say, each and every member of staff is brilliant! Polite, friendly, professional and really made us feel relaxed as we were preparing for the ceremony, thank you all!
My family & I were meeting friends here prior to attending an event the next day. The booking was made due to convenient location and as I'm a member of their loyalty scheme. The buildings around the hotel (formerly Warmsworth Hall) stand out as a good location, although the hotel is familiar Holiday Inn style. One benefit of staying here was being able to use the swimming pool with our children - which was fun, but the changing rooms could do with a little TLC and better cleaning (not too bad, though). There were two simultaneous weddings underway, but despite this, we had an enjoyable evening in the bar & restaurant; and the meals were very good for this standard / type of hotel. The family room was fine; and overall good reliable quality as expected for this price / type of hotel.
Stayed here for one night on 24 June as a stopover from Kent back up to Scotland. Check in was fine, got to our room and air con did not work and window catch was broken so we could not open it. We had our dog with us and thought the room would be too warm (which it already was) so contacted reception who moved us to another room. This room was fine. A good sized room in the other part of the building which you can reach by walking through a corridor or simply across the small road outside. Bar area and restaurant are not dog friendly, and as seating area outside is via the bar it is also not dog friendly. However, there are some tables and chairs off reception which allow dogs and we ordered from the bar and our food and drinks were brought through. It was a pleasant area to sit and some people who didn't have dogs also chose to sit there. There were two weddings on in the hotel so we thought it might get quite noisy later at night but we didn't hear a thing. Didn't stay for breakfast as it wasn't included and it suited us not to bother- it would have been £10 per person. All in all it did the job for a rest in between our long journey.
Easy enough to find, very friendly and pleasant service team, comfortable and clean accommodation. Only gripe would relate to evening meal in room. The driest burger and chips and omelette ever experienced, especially at the cost. However, well advised by restaurant manager as to what to do at breakfast and dog allowed into bar area.
