The farmhouse-style kitchen provides the ideal space for cooking and eating. The cleverly designed kitchen table with swing-out stools seats 4. This kitchen has all new appliances, gas cooktop, natural stone counters & beautiful natural wood.

The dining table, which seats 8, is located in the great room. With the stunning backdrop of the wood burning fireplace and outdoor lighting there is no better place to enjoy a delicious meal with your friends & family.

The large great room, with vaulted ceilings, seating for 6 and modern yet comfortable furniture provides a fantastic space to spend quality time, watching TV, watching the fire, or simply watching the outdoors pass by.

The bedrooms are located on either side of the large entry foyer. The master bedroom, with king bed & stunning views of the back yard, shares a full bath w/ bedroom 2 which has a queen bed. This shared bathroom has marble counters, a combination tub/shower and dual sinks. Across the foyer are bedrooms 3 & 4 each w/ queen beds. This shared bath has a walk-in shower, marble counter & beautiful designer touches.

For golfers, this is your dream home. The Lake Tahoe Golf Course is a Championship course w/ integrated natural elements like the Truckee River, lakes and streams.

There are 2 bikes for your use, along with outdoor games. In addition to proximity to golf and skiing, there is easy access to a paved bike trail, the North Upper Truckee river & Lake Baron. The Rubicon Hiking Trail is 5 mi, Lower Glen Alpine Falls hiking trail is 8 mi, & for an easy hike/stroll, Washoe Meadow State Park is less than 5 mi. A coffee shop, cafe, grocery store & gas is nearby. The Heavenly Village shops/restaurants, gondola to skiing, and casinos are 9 mi away.

Lovely and welcoming home

We stayed here for our ski trip to Heavenly. The place is beautiful, spacious, and comfy. The location is great and neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. The home had huge windows that look out to a gorgeous view of the golf course and mountains dressed with snow in the background. We would stay here again.

Great Birthday Stay

We had a wonderful stay at Duckhook house. The place is nicer than the photos, which were the original selling point. The house was clean and comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked with what you need to cook a meal and easy to work around. There were 3 couples in our group and plenty of room to gather or do your own thing. Will return.

Perfect location and beautiful setting

We have stayed in this house twice. I grew up in this neighborhood and I know this house is perfectly located for anyone who wants access to hiking, biking, paddling, golf, and basic amenities like the grocery store, restaurants, and the park without having to fight weekend traffic. I love the view of Mt. Tallac, proximity to Washoe Meadows State Park, and Tahoe Paradise Park. We bring our e-bikes and take advantage of the bike path network to get where we need to go. The house is beautiful and well appointed inside. My only suggestion for improvement would be to add screens on the rear sliders so guests can let the cool evening air in without also letting in mosquitoes in the spring.

Nothing Short of Amazing!

Our family absolutely loved our stay at Duckhook. The home is beautifully decorated, clean, comfortable and homey, and is in an ideal, peaceful location right on the golf course. The property managers were extremely attentive and mindful of every aspect of a comfortable stay. We miss it already and would stay here again in a heartbeat!

College Friends Golf Trip

We had a group of 8 that got together for the first time since graduating college and we couldn't have picked a better location. Communication was straightforward and simple. House had a perfect amount of space and backyard. Located close to South Lake Tahoe without all of the tourist traffic. Would recommend this house to anybody traveling to South Lake.

The property was definitely not up to typical VRBO properties. Blood on the pillows, hair in the drain and dirty refrigerator. I asked for a refund of my cleaning fee which I thought was very reasonable and never received a response. I would think twice before you rent. Lots of fees and personally I would rather rent from an owner who cared about their property instead of a big company

We had a great time while in Lake Tahoe at Duckhook Cottage. Views were gorgeous! House was very clean, comfortable space. Ideal for our group of 4. Would definitely stay here again. Decorated so well. We all loved the cottage.

Gorgeous setting, very comfortable house

The owners have thought of everything, from bikes to extra blankets to serving dishes and frisbees. Also, for anyone worried about summer temperatures, the house’s exposure and insulation kept it very cool inside all day during our stay despite daytime temps in the upper 80s. We didn’t want to leave.

Great Family Gathering Place

Perfect place to reconnect with our adult kids- walks in the neighborhood, morning coffee on the deck watching the golfers, games in the yard, family dinner! House was stunning and location was easy to get anywhere in South Lake but also away from the bustle and traffic. Highly recommend!!

beautiful cabin near upper truckee

Overall a really lovely cabin with a expansive deck overlooking a golf course and mountains, two blocks from hiking and the truckee (upper). The central living area is huge. Nicely organized kitchen. The rooms are comfortable but small. but enough room for 8 but probably more comfortable for 4-6. The owners son lives in a cabin on the same property and he is friendly and welcoming. For fly fisherman, the upper truckee has great dry fishing in the pockets after runs. Baron lake was a nice place to Kayak and also has some huge trout. Great hiking along the river in Wadshoe park. The area is mainly locals, so lovingly maintained. Really enjoyed out stay.

The house was even more beautiful in person. The views from the deck are stunning. We came here for our wedding/honeymoon. We had our ceremony in the back yard, just the two of us. It was perfect! We had the most wonderful time. I hope to bring the family back here or even return for our anniversary. We loved everything!!!
