You get what you pay for. The location is great for exploring south iceland. Kind of a tired place in need of some renovation. The door handle to the bathroom broke off while i was in it. Bath tub didn't drain and when I called the front desk their answer was, 'we'll take a look at it after you check out.' So... you're not gonna try and fix this before i leave??? Granted, they were hospitable when we asked for a late check out. The breakfast was the worst breakfast we had after spending 8 days in 8 different hotels in iceland. If you're looking at this hotel then do yourself a favor and drive further east and stay at the Stracta.

For a school party of 16-17 year olds this was superb. Great pool, games room, ample hot water (!), plenty of choice at breakfast, awesome soup and well cooked hot food in the evening. Don't agree with those who claimed it looked tired. Looked fresh and clean to me, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. A great base for all the sites of Douth West Iceland

This hotel is situated just off the Ring Road in an interesting village with geothermal activity, a small shopping centre and a filling station. It is ideally placed for touring the Golden Circle and South Coast areas. The hotel itself is clean and modern and all the staff were friendly and spoke perfect English. Our room was clean and comfortable, although some areas did need a little updating (TV was old, cube style!) We ate in the Hver Restaurant - it was really, really good. The food was delicious and very well presented. Would recommend the lamb dish! Breakfast was continental style with plenty of choice. The hotel does take coach parties, but this was not a problem to us during our stay.

Reading other reviews it would seem that one's experience depends on how full the hotel is and who the other guests are. The hotel was quite empty in mid September and provided good service. The room was good size, clean, quiet at night (construction at the back of the hotel until 5pm) and one could open a window for fresh air without being kept awake by outside lights. The night manager was a delight as he helped as plan our route for the following day(we were independent travellers). There was no hot water when we arrived but that's because it had been turned off to the whole town! Got to love a geothermal supply. Fortunately it was restored in a couple of hours. The restaurant (it was our first night in Iceland and we decided to "eat in") was a very pleasant surprise. Well prepared food, nicely presented and served and no more expensive than other restaurants we visited.

Ork hotel was our first stop after arriving in Iceland. We arrived early to the hotel and Dakri was exceptionally understanding and friendly, allowing us to get our rooms a few hours early so we could take a nap and enjoy the rest of our first day. Clean, comfortable rooms with wifi, tv and fridge. Large pool with water slide and two geothermal hot pools. Large recreation room with pool table, ping pong, chess and reading books. Nice bar and restaurant. We enjoyed happy hour for half price drinks but did not eat at the restaurant. Great location to near by restaurants, grocery store, liquor store and different sight seeing options. Overall great stay and highly recommend this hotel!

We dragged in here from an overnight flight and the staff graciously finished cleaning our room so we could check in early. While this property is older, it is very clean and well maintained, so we had a great rest here. Breakfast is excellent, served upstairs in a separate room, and the lobby is open and pleasant. This little town is easily explored on foot from the hotel - a good choice for an overnight stay.

Nice hotel to stay. Breakfast buffet is very fine. Room was quiet and very nice, clean. Plenty of parking. Hot tub very relaxing. Staff friendly and restaurant is very nice with a good menu. Bartender is very friendly.

A big hotel but very comfortable and well run. Excellent breakfast with lots of choice. Also has a huge heated pool with two hot spa tubs and an exciting water slide. Great location in a lovely interesting little town.

We had booked this hotel as part of of our golden circle self drive tour package. The staff is lovely and the hotel is clean and very well organised. The rooms have all the basic necessities in addition to being super clean. The pool and Jacuzzi are a must visit as leisure as well as good morning workout. Our agent had booked us on another night but the hotel staff was lovely to accommodate us. The breakfast spread is amazing and one of the best during our stay in Iceland. They also have a games room where we could relax play Table tennis and pool which is awesome as we were a group of four people. Also the location is pretty close (For Iceland standards) from all of the golden circle attractions if you have your own mode of transport.

Part of our prebooked self driving circumvention of Iceland. Middle of nowhere. Quiet. Decent facilities and breakfast. Excellent service. Enjoyed the experience and if location warranted it would go again
