The hotel is in the middle of nowhere but the views in all directions are wonderful. Our small tour group were booked here and we're very happy with our stay. Welcoming greeting reception staff. Nice spacious room with good view. Free wi-fi. Restaurant is very good and service professional. Breakfast buffet is very comprehensive with hot and cold offerings. After busy tourist day of glaciers and ice cave experiences, this the perfect hotel to have a comfortable night to be ready for whatever Iceland offers tomorrow. Highly recommend

Stayed here last week and it was a pleasant stay. Beds were comfy and room was clean, although the bathroom shower smelt awful as there was no proper ventilation and that was the reason. Breakfast was nice and staff were friendly.

We came for a 3 night visit. The staff was super friendly, smiling and helpfull all the time.We ate at the restaurant our last night and honestly wish i didnt eat there all the nights!Highly recomend:)

This hotel is in the middle of nowhere and it was perfect! As I arrived there was a tour bus that arrived at the same time. I decided to wait at the bar and the bartender and staff were so much fun I didn't check into my room for three more hours. As the evening grew later one of the waitresses told me to look outside for the Northern Lights with her and a few other guests. Sure enough within 30 seconds the Northern Lights were dancing across the sky. It was AMAZING! For those who are fan of the series Game of Thrones...apparently this hotel was rented out to the cast when they filmed in Iceland.

My wife and I stayed as part of a tour where we showed up at night and left before dawn so we can't comment on the scenery around the hotel. The room that we had though was wonderful and the staff at the bar were nice and friendly. The rooms are very modern and nicely appointed. The separate shower from the toilet is a nice touch. The shower was nice and large, which was not something we found in any of the other hotel in Iceland. The best part about the room was the radiant heating in the floor outside the shower, a nice warm floor is great after a cold day in December. We got soaked in the rain during the day and were able to dry our clothing out nicely, on the heated floor, before the morning.

We arrived at this hotel at about 6pm and departed at 8am. In the month of Dec those times are basically night time, so I could not describe the grounds. Registration process was handled by our tour company and was smooth. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel interior is designed with Scandinavian styling although it is simple and has clean lines which makes the spaces and rooms appear larger. The rooms were on the small size but typical for this part of the world. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom had heated floors and were of a modest size. They could improve bath amenities to include shampoo, conditioner, lotion and soap separately. I'm typically not that finicky about those amenities but in Iceland you are dealing with hard water so it really affects your hair and skin even for that brief period of time. Radiator heat was easy to work with and made the room comfortable. The bar was a little sad. It's small and located just behind the registration desk in an all open design. Not inviting at all. Restaurant lay out was nice. It had big windows and 2 levels. Again simple Scandinavian design but somewhat on the lower end of the spectrum. It's a nice and simple hotel. It was comfortable and I would recommend it as long as you kept your expectations modest and book at a good rate.

The hotel is situated in a beautiful location near water and the mountains! Our room was clean and had plenty of room. The front desk staff was helpful. The breakfast had a nice variety. We didn’t use the restaurant on site, but it sounded like there were lots of options. We traveled about 10 minuets to Höfn for dinner and to use the pool. Our stay was a positive experience.

A modern, clean hotel providing a great base for exploring the Vatnajokull National Park and the delights of the south coast of Iceland. The room was very comfortable and the view from the bar was sensational. Would be a great spot for seeing the Northern Lights.

I really can't find a fault with this hotel, it's located just out of hofn, within driving distance to the glaciers. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful. They gave us great recommendations for dinner, and upgraded us to a suite for our 2 night stay. The hotel is modern, clean and well appointed. If we came back through Hofn we would stay again. We also had a beautiful view of the northern lights from our room. Thanks for a lovely stay.

Lovely smart hotel unlike the older, tired Fosshotels we had in Reykjavik. In the middle of nowhere at the end of the South coast trip, about 34km before Hofn. Sleek, modern accommodation, split level restaurant, fabulous showers and unsmelly water. Breakfast was a good range of well presented and prepared foods. The rooms had huge picture windows to see the Northern Lights. We were lucky enough to have a show right outside our room the night we stayed. Helpful staff but we were surprised that there was no First Aider or medical staff on call when a friend fell on black ice and hit his head causing him to blackout temporarily. We spent a worried night wondering if he was going to be ok.
