Comfortable Home & Great LocationEnjoyed our 3-night stay at Idle Hour. Very comfortable and well-stocked home for our four adults.House was spotless and as shown in the photos. Nicely remodeled with quality appliances, furnishings and finishes. Kitchen was full of most of the small appliances and utensils you would ever need. Many thoughtful touches made for a cozy at-home feeling. Bed in the lower level was very comfortable. Location was ideal for our weekend get-away. Ten-minute walk to downtown and the river. Five-to-ten-minute walk to the lighthouse and beach.Communication and support from the management company was excellent.

Enjoyed our stay at Idle Hour. Property just as described. Very clean, well maintained. Enjoyed the location close to the lake.I traveled with several older family members who had minor ambulatory issues. The steep stairs were a challenge.In the future would try to rent a property on one floor.

The House was very clean, well appointed, and well maintained. I really appreciated the wagon and beach chairs available in the shed in the fenced back yard. Having separate sleeping on 2 levels worked great for us. Location was great, only 5 minute walk to South Beach, and about 10 minute walk to Town, with plenty of dining options. Would definitely stay in the house again, if we are fortunate enough to get to visit Soth Haven again.

Wonderful stay!

Idle Hour is beautiful and has everything needed for a comfortable get-away. The location is close to all interest points and is in a quiet, peaceful neighborhood. We had a lovely time in South Haven, and this home made it perfect. One most important detail- the beds are extremely comforable!

Loved the Idle Hour

We are long time visitors to South Haven. We have always stayed on North Beach. We decided to venture out to the "southside" and we fell in love! The house is a short walk to the beach as well as town. This owner has so many tiny details that make the stay comfortable from every small appliance you can imagine to labeled light switches, wagon, sand toys, and a functioning firepit. We are now south side converts! :)

Loved the accommodation. Host provided nice amenities like the s’mores ingredients. Everything we could have wished for in a vacation home was there. Great location- short walk to the beach and town. Will likely book the house again. Thank you!

Little getaway

We loved the location. It was an easy walk to the beach, playground and into town. The house is beautifully decorated and updated. Plenty of space for our little family and the outdoor space was lovely too. The only downside that we had was that the floors upstairs were very very loud which woke up our son the first couple of nights there. But that was really our only complaint. If we needed something, we just texted the help number and responses were extremely quick.

Perfect location, disappointed with cleanliness

This property was a perfect location - an easy walk to South Beach with kids, an easy walk into town, and within a short drive to anywhere we wanted to go. The kitchen, master bedroom and bathrooms are all newly updated and very nice. Our main concern was the level of cleanliness of the property. There was heavy dust caked on ceiling fans to the point we couldn't use them, dust on furniture, under furniture, dusty cobwebs hanging from the ceiling upstairs and one of the bedrooms had a musty smell. There was also a big ant problem in the kitchen and master bedroom/bathroom - ants crawling on suitcase, nightstand, shower, countertop etc. We reached out to the property manager about the ants when we noticed them and they were quick to respond to bring ant traps. They did enter the rental to place ant traps without notifying us they were planning to do so or when. They also booked a pest control company to spray the outside of the house and that person arrived when we had just gotten back from the beach and had all of our beach stuff in the lawn. We quickly had to get everything off the yard, deck, and away from the house because of him spraying. Again, there was no communication this was taking place otherwise we would have planned around this pest control appointment. After some back and forth about the complaint of the rental being so dusty and the ant problem, we were refunded less than half of our cleaning fee.

Family vacation

Lots of fun. Close to beach, town, kids Corner. Did a Lot of bike riding down to state park and Kal-Haven trail. Kitchen was well stock except no dish clothes or dish towels?? Overall the house was clean but cobwebs along baseboards. You can tell it is a rental from the outside as yard was weedy. Back yard has a 2-3 foot strip along back fence and along garage that was all over grown weeds. Overall I would rent it again so nothing drastically wrong. Like I said, we had fun.

Beautiful Spot

Loved everything about Idle Hour. Perfect location for a short walk to beautiful South Beach and into town. We didn’t have to use the car the entire long weekend The cottage is well-stocked with everything we needed. Updated bathrooms and kitchen are very nice. We took the lower level bedroom with en-suite bathroom. Adult kids took upstairs. The beds and linens were comfortable. Everything was clean. The backyard fire pit is a plus. We used it one night. This was our first trip to South Haven and Idle Hour cottage but it won’t be our last

Perfect spot

Surrounded by neighbors but privacy is like you’re in your own world. Very cute and comfy place to idle awhile! Great beach, Harbour, bike trail and town access.
