The Space:

For the adventurous, the surrounding area is ripe with opportunities for hiking, local festivals, and quaint shops in nearby townships.

Welcome to the vibrant town of South Haven!
Blackstone on the Bluff is a wonderfully peaceful retreat while still being only a 10 minute drive into town. Take a step back in time with this towns picturesque views from the downtown strip looking into the harbor where you'll see boats pull in and out from Lake Michigan. This "old timey" town is packed with cute shops and restaurants. From the classic fudge/ice cream parlors of western Michigan to wonderful sushi restaurants your palate is certain to be satiated with whatever you may desire. Forgot your sweater for those breezy nights? Pick up some apparel from one of the many shops on the strip.
Head outdoors and be instantly filled with the woodsy paradise that surrounds the area. Take a bike ride or stroll down the famous Kal-Haven Trail. Connecting Kalamazoo and South Haven, this 35 mile trail is said to be one of the best in Michigan. With its smooth terrain and gorgeous views it earns this title very easily. Looking for a little adrenaline rush? Rent an ATV and take to the trails in a more invigorating way or take to the water with a memorable sunset sailing experience.

Other Things to Note:
For environmental protection and minimal erosion this home utilizes a Dutch sand ladder system for beach access down to the private beach area along Lake Michigan. This is seasonal and unavailable from September through May. Between November 2019 and March 2020, unusually high Lake Michigan levels caused significant bluff erosion making the bluff particularly steep and unsafe. Since it can take up to 5 years for the bluff to stabilize enough for new stairs to be installed, a temporary solution similar to a rope ladder is being used. Currently, the bluff is approximately 70 feet high with an average grade of 50 degrees, so the ladder may not be suitable for all guests.
This is a historical 1800's home with many original features. This home is charming and unique but may differ from modern day builds and standards.

Bring your furry friends along on your next vacation! Please let us know in advance if you're bringing your pets with you. We happily welcome up to two dogs on our premises. A dog guest fee charge of $145 will apply (emotional support included and feline friends are prohibited).

All Upscale Lakeshore vacation rentals follow local and state tax rules. Your booking will include applicable taxes, a cleaning fee along with a safety and damage protection policy. We want to ensure the safety and security of our guests and properties. When you book a vacation home with us, you will be required to sign a rental agreement after booking along with completing a verification process. To complete the verification, you will be contacted via email and/or text message. Please be sure to complete this before your arrival, so we can confirm your reservation. Prior to booking, please reach out to us directly if you would like to see the rental agreement.
We recommend securing travel insurance to protect your investment should you need to cancel your reservation outside of the allotted window or due to inclement weather or any other factor.
